i don't understand how some people are saying that OP is dirty when in fact he is cleaner because using water makes your arse so much cleaner than using some crappy toilet paper.
then you don't understand how germs work do you?

yes he's going to have a sparkling 'showroom clean' hole, but his hands are going to be covered in faecal bacteria that can't be easily cleaned off with soap and water. e's then going to touch things with those hands and spread microscopic faecal matter around for others to inadvertently pick up.

if you don't believe me, why don't you go round to his place and ask him to make you a clagnut sandwich. :pac:

just wanted to let you know that you've got a bit of sweetcorn stuck in your teeth. :pac:

there's a reason that cultures that traditionally use water instead of paper to clean their hoops only use one hand and then go out of their way to keep that hand away from food & other people. i don't care what you wash your hands with, there's no way to get every single molecule of crap off them. please please please, don't ever touch other people with those hands.

i was travelling in thailand several years ago and ended up (literally) staying in a house in the middle of a jungle, only to find out that the only toilet option was one of those squat types with no paper and only soap and water to clean my hole.

i asked around, but nobody had any bog roll and i was told that you couldn't actually use it anyway as it would block the toilet which was on a septic tank.

someone went out of their way to convince me of the OP's opinion that it was much more hygienic to clean with soap & water etc. etc. so eventually when i got to the point where i just had to go, i did it.

i spent about 20 minutes afterwards vigorously scrubbing my hands with soap & water, but i just couldn't get rid of the smell no matter what i did and i felt dirty for days afterwards no matter how much i washed. :(

OP, several pages ago you confessed that you don't even recycle so you obviously don't give a crap abut the environment so stop using it as an excuse. by all means wash your hoop after you wipe, but not using paper first to clean as much as possible before you wash is nasty. whatever you think you are doing, you are still putting your hands in direct contact with your poop and its very unhygienic.

i've also known a couple of people who don't use shampoo and claim it makes their hair much nicer and cleaner after a couple of months once all the natural oils rebalance themselves, despite the fact that it very obviously stinks it is impossible to get them to understand that they smell.

i don't really understand how they don't realise how bad it is? its either just that after a couple of months of constantly smelling something nasty your brain 'tunes out' the smell or its something like the mental block that anorexics have of not seeing themselves as scrawny?

the excuse that shampoo was only invented in the last100 years is no good either. in victorian times rich people only used to bathe once a month because they didn't get dirty and soap and water were only used by poor people who got dirty at work. fortunately now we have a better idea (most of us anyway) about hygiene and like to make a habit of washing properly on a regular basis. :)

all the water that leaves your house has to go through a waste water treatment plant regardless of if it has shampoo in it or not and you already use the same amount of water as the rest of us washing your hair without shampoo and trying to clean the clagnuts out from under your fingernails so you have no argument there either, even if you hadn't already admitted to not giving two hoots about the environment when you admitted you don't recycle.

    so to summarise.

washing hole = cleaner than wiping - yes, for your hole but not your poopy hands
not using paper or shampoo better for the environment = nope, not with all the extra water use from spending ages polishing your hoop and hands

Listen buddy, Im not sure what kind of radioactive feces you have, but if 20 min of washing your hands doesnt remove the smell I would seriously recommend you see a GP or something.

You know as a user posted above, your hair only smell like it naturally should. If you are concerned about odour, which in fairness must vary from person to person because nobody would describe me a smelly, you can always use essential oils to fragrance you hair. Fact of the matter is you have just been brainwashed by shampoo companies to make you think you need to do it all the time.

And lastly, its the chemicals in shampoo that harm the environment, those chemical are finding there was into the environment despite the fact that water goes to a treatment plant. I suggest you read this thread in it's entirety as we have spoken numerous times about this.

Oh, and I never once in this entire thread said I was doing this for environmental reasons. I simply said that if everyone did it, it would help the environment no end.

that's why you need to wash your hands with hot water and soup a few times, and don't tell me that hot water and soap won't get rid of all the bacteria and smell because it will

off topic: another thing that i don't understand is why are we still using 2 different taps one for hot and one for cold water, what if you want warm water??
it should be one tap so you can have warm water by using both the cold and hot water(that lead to one tap) and adjust how warm you want the water to be.

  • the thread that keeps giving , lovin how angry the op is adds the factor:D

I must say that I'm loving the OP's hypocricy; he goes on about water wasted in manufacturing paper then pours water down the drain when he's washing his bum, and goes on and on about chemicals in shampoo without giving a second thought to all the chemicals in the soap he uses. Loadsa lols.

Now we are dragging stools around the toilets, I love this thread. :D

    Quite literally! :D

I still want to know what the OP does when out of home or at a friends??? Surely he's drying his super-clean backside with a towel which needs to be washed frequently?? Using evil mastermind detergents to wash these towels and even more water????

If only Trent was here.. I'm sure he'd shite all over the toilet, wipe his arse off forests, have sex with the OP's girlfriend and snapkick the OP.

Do you always just make stuff up? If the OP diligently washes his hands afterwards then all is fine. **** sake going by your stupid logic a large portion of the world would be dead or ill through bacterial infection if this was the case.

The ignorance in this thread is making my head hurt.

I love some of tags left for this thread! :pac::pac:

fudge tunnel maintenance, soap dodger, stinky stinky britches
    :D

then you have people with less creativity but still want to get the point across that the OP has a smelly hole

sh*tlocks, sh*tty balls, dirty hole and mouldy wet dog smell

    I love it! :pac:

Ignoring the ecological impact of toilet roll, shampoos, soaps, etc for a second, there is a simple question to prove what the OP does makes sense wrt not using toilet roll.

If you got some poo on your arm, which of these would you do? Keep rubbing it in with dry toilet roll until it's gone, or get some soap and water and wash it off?

People from Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Japan, India etc are disgusted at the thought of not washing up below after going.

And has been said before, soap kills the bacteria and germs present in poo. So washing your hands pretty much rules out that argument about it being unhygienic using your hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,659 ✭✭✭CrazyRabbit

FYI...with a bidet, you are not meant to touch.

Touching is only required in countries that use squat toilets, with no bidet or paper. I also find that disgusting (regardless of germs on hands afterwards or any smell...it's just disgusting).

    It's simple really.

    1. Use paper.
    2. Use smaller amount of paper + bidet & no touching for greater hygiene.
    3. If the above are not available, print out this thread and use it instead....although be warned, it's already full of ****e!

that's all very well and good, but if you use your hands, feces bound to get under your finger nails, and when was the last time you saw a nail brush in a public toilet?

at home this wouldn't be a problem, but if your on the go - your bound to end up with ****ty finger nails

Nonsense as far as the Italians I know are concerned anyway.

Well your Italians must be different than my Italians. Bidet use is standard in Italy, google is your friend. They still use toilet roll to dry up afterwards, maybe that's where you're getting confused.

i think i've figured out why you're like this. your nose obviously doesn't work. if it did you'd know you DO have sh1tty smelling hands and stinky hair.

the only way your hair smells like it naturally should is if your hair is actually meant to smell like crap. i get that you are used to the smell, but that doesn't give you the right to force other people to have to endure it because you're a dirty soap dodger.

it's like someone having bad breath. its very unusual that the people around them will be frank enough to tell them that they stink, even though they do. stop kidding yourself and just clean yourself properly like a normal person ffs and stop being so god damn stingy.

its not bad enough that we have mr poopy fingers, now we have mr soupy fingers too? :pac:

i AM telling that hot water and soap (soup is for eating remember?) WILL NOT kill ALL bacteria, particularly the nasty ones you'd find in turds, unless your idea of washing your hands in soap and hot water is the same as immersing your hands and scrubbing them in a 10% bleach solution in boiling water and scraping right under your nails till they bleed.

that's an excellent idea, i suggest you patent the idea of this combined hot and cold tap immediately and then go and invent it and make millions off your very original invention. oh, actually wait a minute, i think someone might have actually beaten you to it...

I'm basing on the fact that they have no problem using the toilet at work, in pubs etc, which they would surely be against if washing up was a major issue.

I haven't used shampoo for years (and years) either and though I have short hair now (to hide the receding bits), for years it was long and the ladys often commented on how nice it felt and smelled.
I was often asked what shampoo I use and got looks of amazement when I said none. Hair genuinely only needs a good scrub in warm water every day.
Might seem odd to some, but it's true. :D

No offence there vibe, but what you know about the subject could fit on a stamp. Show me one reference that show you are correct, just one. Because I went looking and couldn't find one.

are you serious? there's that irony rearing its ugly head again.

you weren't able to find ANY references online to confirm that soap and water doesn't actually kill bacteria? i'm very sorry that you can't use google, but i thought this obvious fact was common knowledge? i'm starting to think your vision and cognitive abilities might be as deficient as your sense of smell.

have you heard of MRSA, E-Coli or Salmonella?

soap might be a simple way to wash them off the surface of your hands if done vigorously for long enough, but it will do feck all to actually kill any of them. you have heard of those bacteria haven't you???

I'm assuming you have fingernails? cuticles? have you ever had cracked, cut or broken skin?

all these places are happy homes for all of the above nasties and they'll be hanging on anywhere they can whilst they laugh at you and gargle with your soapy water and your naivety.

why do you think medical professionals all wear gloves any time they go anywhere near a patient and then immediately turn them inside out before throwing them out rather than just going in with their bare hands and then rolling up their sleeves giving them a good wash afterwards?

you are playing Russian roulette with your health and the health of those around you. if you absolutely have to stick your fingers up your hole then do everyone a favour and invest in some latex examination gloves and do it properly before you make someone very sick.

Have you ever been to Italy? Even in posh restaurants the toilets are an absolute disgrace, i wouldn't be too keen to emulate italian toilet habbits to be honest!

Well he said soap wouldn't kill all bacteria

    here you go

Dettol Healthy Touch Hand Hygiene Gel

Kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.
Protection on the go with no need for soap or water.
Travel size pump ideal for use on the go: in the car, in public toilets/restaurants, on holiday, while shopping or picnicking, etc.
    Dermatologically tested.

99.9% is less then 100%, so not all bacteria killed.

Russian roulette??? Do you work for Dettol? Have you ANY idea on how to use a bidet? Are you under some weird impression that the OP is fisting his ass and rolling around in poo every time he takes a ****? The OP sounds conscientious regarding his hygiene and hand washing.

Stop pedalling your absolute rubbish about how dangerous his actions are when IN REALITY (that's where we sensible people live) his actions are cleaner than the use of toilet roll and pose no ****ing harm to anyone except nutcase germaphobes.

How about a poll? Those who think washing your backside is cleaner than those using dry toilet paper to smear the stuff away?
