Just looking out my window here in cork...

All the cars frozen, worst i've seen in a while!!

And the sky, half blue, half grey purple!!

Predictions?? Possibly a few flakes id say!!

    I would say, definitely.

And the key question - will it fall as snow??

Guys im no expert but there is a major thaw on here in Monasterevin atm.
Im finding it hard to grasp this cold front thats heading our way and predicted snow in the afternoon.
Can it change from a thaw to sub freezing that quick?

Its down 1 o C in the last hour!.. heres to hoping!

Yes it can. The air that is moving in is from Siberia and will push the warmer air out of the way.

The change in temp and wind chill can be quite dramatic.

with so many posters reporting a thaw at the moment my fear is that the ground will get so slushy sloppy and wet that what ever snow comes in with the cold front later wont stick

All your posts are very ... Negative.

Have you not seen all the snow we've had already... In November!

Chin up, no need to fear, more snow is coming. It'll prolly stick.
