A load of USB devices use a different voltage to iPods and this thing wont charge them.

Other than the 5V supplied by USB ports?

Not voltage, but current can vary. The iPad, for example, doesn't "charge" at 500mA, and its charger is 2A (@5V).

The powerhouse seems to charge my Nexus up a little, then stop charging it, then charge it again.
Odd, I'm presuming it's something to do with current draw as I'm using it or something.
Anyway, it keeps it going which is the main thing :)

Who said and what branch of Tesco raised the price back to 65 quid?

Picked up the remaining ones of these in Tesco Wilton for €3.95 each last night and they were marked at that price on the shelf.

It doesn't work for my phone at all... :( (Nokia E52)

It didn't work on my Nokia E52 with the USB cable that came with the phone - HOWEVER I ordered a mini to micro USB convertor from DEALEXTREME and using that the E52 took a charge. I think the convertor cost €2.50 delivered. Hope this helps.

Woohoo! I finally got my bargainy mitts on the 2-in-1 version for €3.95! :D Looks like this is sold as the Powerhouse in the states.

Can anyone confirm whether there's actually any difference in the one shown on the duracell site and the version Tesco are selling which looks like the silver/black are switched around and the usb plug is at the bottom?

I left a few on the peg for fellow boards bargaineers in Phibsboro. Some of the peg labels had NEW written on.

Here's a list of the different versions

Now that I have the best of the lot, I don't need the Pocket or Instant, but I don't want to bring them back for a refund in case it brings the price to their attention!

AT LAST we get to take advantage of Tesco, they've been doing it to us for far too long!

    It is what it's.

Can confirm it works with Nokia if you use a USB to 2mm jack charger like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130422320587&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT There are plenty of cheaper ones than this on e-bay, I went with this one as I have used this seller before without any problems and delevery was quick as it came from UK as opposed to HK etc.

Plenty of the 2 in 1's left Midleton. Other types left as well. Seemed to be no shortage. Up by the tills with all the batteries.

Saw at least 10 in the hardward store of Tesco today. This can't be a pricing error, it's going on too long...

Yes, certainly it is a little puzzling. Possible issues... lithium batteries do deteriorate, maybe these are past their (undeclared) best before date. Also, pretty much all current phones are using microUSB cables and not miniUSB as on the 2-in-1. Sure you can plug a cable into the USB socket, but I could see some returns due to the direct cable not fitting. One would assume any new model would be micro...

Just to add a new vein to this, Tesco Sligo have Energizer Accu recharge MINI battery charger for €4.95 and it comes with 2 AA2000mAh battery's...total bargain. Loads left on shelf...

Mods can we euthanise this thread?

It struggles on slowly and awkwardly, losing its dignity with every passing day.

Nooooo! If Frank's RedHot Sauce wasn't taken out and shot, why should this one? It has not reached its cell-by date yet....:D

And it's so cool with the Duracell Bunny going on and on vibe.....

BTW - how come it's 9 pages? I was sure it was approaching 20 pages a few days ago.... is there some magic pixie-dust sprinkled by mods that slims these threads down??

You have the option on for 40 posts per page, so once you are logged on, its at 9 pages.
I'm so proud of my long lasting thread *wipes away tear from eye*

Picked this up in Tescos Maynooth this morning:

    canvasx.png

€3.95 - not the same as the one advertised on this thread, but this one is very handy as a spare power source.
