3 years on my last phone, time to upgrade, falling apart and Vodafone gave me 100 smackers in a trade in:eek: how bad :P

So has anyone figured out why these are so cheap?

Maybe they are being replaced with a more powerful model and they are being sold off cheap ;)

i had a few ideas like that but isnt there some consumer/reseller law that you cant sell anything new, cheaper than what you bought if for?

I find it hard to believe they were sold at a 1518% markup ( depending on which method of markup used)

Went to Tesco Clarehall on Monday to get one, came home with the Pocket version - €3.95, happy me :) What was wierd was that of the 2 pegs they were on, one peg the price label said €3.95, the other said €9.95.

Anyway I then re-read the thread and found out there's better... so I got 2 of the better Instant version in Jervis St (there were about 2 Pocket and 3 Instant left at end-of-aisle facing the self-serve checkout as of 6pm), also scanning at €3.95 :-D

Was at B&Q yesterday and asked the customer service for a price on the Pocket version - €32.50!!She probably thought I was nuts when I started giggling to myself :pac:

This entire gaffe is testament to the fact that Tesco's pricing has been so far wide of the mark for so long that they don't even realise when something like this happens!

I probably won't be able to find the best Powerhouse version but nonetheless I'm chuffed, great lil presents. Thanks OP!

If I found something in tesco that was , approx 80% cheaper at the scanning machine, is it illegal for me to go through the self service isle and pay for it?

    I done it today.

So what I really am enquiring into is , am I breaking any rules Yes or NO?

If I buy a lot of these products is it better to buy 1 or 2 at a time ? or buy a load and go to the "human" / lady register/

Sorry for being a bit 50/50 on this , but I would make a packet on it for Xmas, ( I am on Disability) so it would be very helpful for the new year.

Can anybody give me my rights!!! should I just keep it to myself.

I am shaking here as I never done anything wrong , (that I am aware of in my life) But I need the money.

If I get a specific genuine reply I will PM anybody who needs to know.

Again sorry for being so vague , but you know what I mean ... I hope.

    Best regards.

Got the Powerhouse ones the other day in local store - charges the HTC Desire phone from 12% to full charge in about 3 hours.
Picked up 8 in total for the folks at work and they all love it. Girl in store said they were flying out the door

You are not doing anything wrong. That is the price they have it on their system at. In fact, even at the self service aisle, you will still need staff to remove the plastic alarm tags off them. I say buy them away. As for the making money aspect of it, id say buy for yourself or friends etc, dont buy them just to sell it on please :)

If anyone is still looking for these they have a load of them in Tesco Maynooth today - a couple of sizes/different types of charger.

I've used my 2-in-1 twice to charge my iPhone. It charges the iPhone to about 78% before it runs out of juice.

Is this about right? I thought it would charge the iPhone to 100% twice before running flat?????

It doesn't work for my phone at all... :( (Nokia E52)

Naw - it says "up to 1.2" for an iPhone 3G. I got about 75% on my iPhone 2G (which eats power)

I bought mine to charge my Sony ebook reader but it doesnt work, wont charge my mp3 Player either (Creative Zen Vision M), cant think of anything else I want to charge with USB.:(

Ah well at least we got this epic 20 page rollercoaster of a thread out of it.

I bought one for no good reason too. But now that I got that cheap smartfone in the other thread with weak battery it just might come in handy someday.

I notce my Fuji S700 vamera has a 5V power input - maybe I'll try that if I can find a suitable connector in my junk box.....

Err yes? Thats kind of how you operate it, with the massive power button on the front there, see?

A load of USB devices use a different voltage to iPods and this thing wont charge them.
