Fast food places: Do you tidy up afterwards?

    Read the other fast food thread and got me wondering.

    I've never worked in a fast food place but did work in several hotels. Weddings, funeral afters, grads, retirement partys, I've done them all

    So you're in a Supermacs/McDonalds/Burgerking do you take your tray and rubbish with you to the bin?
    Even Subway as they have bins?

    Or leave it as staff are on duty?

    Or even as the knackers in McDonalds on Cruises St, Limerick do and fire the empty trays around upstairs :mad:
    And get kicked out by security, proper order

    Even in a cinema, do you take your rubbish with you to a bin outside, even if there are floor staff?

    I always do it.
    Common courtesy, tbh, I'm sure the people working there have it hard enough without having to clean up after the little shíts that raid McDonalds after any event nearby.

    Everything goes in the bin.

    I never buy popcorn/drinks in the cinema, but the remnants of my smuggled stash from Tesco get binned too.

    Yes. It's just common courtesy. Sure some people may get paid to do it but they'll still get paid if you do it yourself so why make their job harder.

    Yeah I would do it as a force of habit. I wasn't reared to believe someone else should clean up my messes. Damn parents not rearing me to be a banker or property developer:(

    I usually do tidy up after me yep. There are one or two places where the bins are no where to be seen , or everything gets sorted out before going in them, but other than that i'd just take the tray and throw the contents in the bin.
    Mind you i nearly threw out a plastic bowl thing in Subway the other day-for some reason she decided to put my sub in it instead of just leaving it in the paper like they usually do. Was out of habit just to throw everything in the bin, but i caught it in time!

    In the cinema, i would throw the rubbish in the bin outside too.

    Yes of course, although my friend has a weird theory that if she cleans up the staff won't disinfect the tables so she always makes us leave something like a cup and a napkin :confused:

    Although once the girl cleaning the tables was acting like a right cnut so I poured salt and ketchup all over the place right at closing time. Bitch.

    I always do it and make sure people that are with me do it. Its not just courteous for the staff its also good for when the place is packed. I hate when there are no tables in places except ones with trays on them.

    This is true. Sometimes, especially if it's busy, if they see a table from a distance with nothing on it, they presume they either already cleaned it or a colleague did so it's best to leave a cup or something behind you.

    I worked in a fast food joint for a bit in college, not a chain but a local one and when people put drinks that are not finished in the bin it caused it to drip when changing it, making the floor slippery, so it actually made changing the bin a bit more awkward. And you would think working in a chipper was easy eh...!

    If we all clean up after ourselves then the cleaner upper is unemployed !!!!

    I do clean after myself due to the Jedi training of the back of my mothers hand, however I was told by someone that I am doing someone else out of a (minimum wage ) job.

    Two sides to everything.

    Almost always, but sometimes there is an employee almost comatose walking around wiping down tables killing time and i will leave it for them to clean up.

    From working a multitude of crappy jobs in the past -- trust me, they ain't hiring anyone either way. They'll just expect the staff to work harder for the same crap wage.
    None of this, "sure, aren't they lucky to have a job?"sh1te either. It's usually said by people who have never worked a crappy, underpaid, overworked job.
