    Couple of points here
    1. Quinny has not been at his best partiuclarly against Leinster but it wouldn't surprise me if he is pacing himself for a long season ahead as he is 36 and will be called upon to play a lot of matches throughout the year(with irish lads gone and 4 more ML games this year). Even if he is not his wortha place on the bench if not on the team as Munster could have done with his nous last week. Coughlan to drop out uf squad by the way.

Aged and all as he is, his brain was too quick for Dom Maguire? when he stole the ball in a Leinster put into the scrum.

Munster A lost to Llanelli 13 - 15 in Waterford tonight. Declan Cusack missed a 30m kick to win it at the end.

Reading the updates on MFs.com, it seems it wasn't a great performance.

All bad news really, an ambulance had to come onto the pitch to bring Danny Barnes off. Word from MFs is an arm/elbow injury that looked very serious. :(

Yeah, but the Pony smells blood. If Munster lose this game, the Munster era is well and truly officially over, and they'll be fighting for a place in the Amlin...how the mighty would fall.

And truth be told, would I get immense pleasure out of seeing Dr. Phil do this to Munster in Thomond? You bet your ass I would...

You're squad is weak, the injuries are building up, the form is poor, the management clueless, and there's chaos around Munster atm imo....don't say you haven't been warned... I don't like to see a fellow Irish team suffer, unless it's Munster at the hands of Dr. Phil...

Allez Toulon!! Allez Le Doc!! :D

Dr Phil had some game didn't he? Weak squad, cluless management?

Don't want to turn it into that Ruggie but that post stuck with me, if it came true I would also have come back to it and said well done to Jackass for his great prediction.

So no Fernandez Lobbe. So the two Kolpak selections are between Smith, Contepomi (who will start if Saint Andre is believed) and Rudi Wulf.

Did the three of them not play??

It seems George Smith's dual citizenship between pacific islands and Oz supersedes his Australian caps in determining Kolpak status. He could play regardless. Heymen and the Doc were the two.

The Kolpak ruling doesn't limit a team.
It allows players from CPA list (Caribbean, Pacific, Africa) to work within the EU.
There were the two starting 'overseas' players for Toulon (crazy when you look at the teamsheet but true).
They were Carl Hayman and Felipe Contepomi, neither of whom are 'Kolpak' players.

Strange Contepomi didn't take out Irish citizenship, would make him a lot more employable in Europe, afaik, we allow dual citizenship. He used to have Italian citizenship.

    Flannery To See Specialist

Jerry Flannery will see a medical specialist this week to establish the exact nature of the injury that forced him out of the game against Toulon on Saturday.

Flannery made his first appearance of the season as a 55th minute replacement for Damien Varley but then had to retire shortly before full time with a calf injury.

Paul Warwick who limped off in the 66th minute is not thought to have suffered serious injury and is expectd to be available for the game against Treviso ths weekend.

    http://www.munsterrugby.ie/news/8120.php

By all accounts Warwick was just cramp.

Doesn't sound good for Fla though. Given his recent history, it could be bad.

Can it be taken as good news they didn't mention Earls then?

No news is good news IMO. He did look in a bit of distress at the end but he had just ran a considerable distance to recover the ball and kick it out so maybe he was just tired.

Earls definitely tweaked something as he limped off the pitch. Also limped off against LI so he may not be 100%.
A few weeks of training and strengthening might serve him well hope Kidney doesn't play him this Autumn.
Team should be interesting Friday against Treviso! A lot of guys deserve a rest.

Horan injured now. At least this should give Dave Ryan a chance to impress. Still though, the injury list is getting very long.

It just goes on and on and on - the academy will be empty by Jan!

Jesus, the injury list is beyond ridiculous now.

What kind of team will we able to field against Australia? The game falls between NZ and Samoa so assuming that the Ireland teams to play NZ and Samoa are radically different, many Ireland fringe players won't be released either (Kidney may keep the likes of Varley, MOD, Ryan, Leamy, Stringer, Murphy etc). Tuitupou will be back but Mafi will still be suspended, Gleeson and Barnes not around either.

    Du Preez, Sherry, Borlase/Archer, Foley, Holland, Quinlan, Ronan, Coughlan;
Williams, Warwick, Hurley, Tuitupou, Dineen, Howlett, Deasy

Bench: Henry, Borlase/Archer, Dave Ryan, Foley, POM, Murray, Cusack, Zebo?

Any news on Flannery and how long he'll be out for?

No news yet, he was in Liverpool last week to see a specialist.

I'd say he's fecked tbh. He's been on the treatment table a lot since he missed the Lions Tour and he's not getting any younger (turned 32 last week).

From an Ireland viewpoint, there's good depth at hooker with Best, Cronin etc. From a Munster perspective if Varley gets hurt we are royally screwed.

In other news, Barry Murphy played the second half for UL Bohs and scored a crucial intercept try in their win over Lansdowne yesterday.

Sad to say but Flannery looks like he could be a bit part player from here. Nothing to do with ability, he just can't get fit, and he's progressing in years (though 32 isn't old for a hooker really).

Jackman, Wood, Sheehan all retired around that age, Byrne was much older. I think it really depends on the individual player. In this case I think his time is nearly up.

What some of you are forgetting is that while Flannery is 32 he only started to be the 1st choice hooker for Munster only in recent years so wouldnt have the same phyiscal mileage up on his body as some of the likes of Woody or Byrne.

jackman and sheehan were forced to retire through injury.

wood had alot of injuries just before he retired.

i think flannery can play on if he can get fit and stay motivated. unfortuneatly with injuries they very rarely come by themselves. its still early days on the season so hopefully he gets the calf sorted out and gets back playing.

i dont think a half playing for shannon is enough before a heineken cup game.

Anybody know if the Treviso game is to be repeated on TV over the next few days?

That's some good news for Fla and Munster, however, I really dont thin k he should be rushed back just to play in the AIs. Munster have two ML games before their back to back H/Cup games against the Ospreys to give him enough time to prove his fitness for these games.

Lee Byrne possilby to miss the back to backs v Munster in Heineken Cup. Good news for Munster.

I've been watching Flannery play since schools grades and he's not naturally that big a guy. I won't pretend to know much about muscle mass percentages but a considerable amount of his bulk is from the gym. I've been told a few times that of all the Munster squad he easily spends the most hours in the weights room.

His body can only keep compensating for so long. Got pillared a few ago for saying it but he really is a disaster waiting to happen.

I saw him in a restaurant in Limerick a while back and couldn't believe the size of him, his arms and chest are absolutely massive. Looked like a guy who seriously hits the weights.
