Magill and myself were having a spirited discussion on the Black Ops thread and in specific, I expressed the view that I hoped quick scoping would not make the transition from MW2 to Black Ops. Magill's view was that there would be a lot more annoying aspects than that making it accross to Black Ops.

So the question I have is this...

What do you hope is left behind in MW2 (seen as its days are coming to an end ;)) to make Black Ops a better game. For me, its

    1) Commando pro teleportation
    2) Quickscoping
    3) Broken Spawn system

For my part, I don't have that much of a problem with T Insertions (so long as they are not purple headed ones :pac:).. any annoyance I felt about boosters was countered by the satisfaction of launching an RPG at point blank and getting a triple kill..

*before anyone complains about another Black Ops thread, this is more of a goodbye MW2 thread than anything else.

Pretty much with you on this everlast.

    1) Commando pro teleportation
    2) Quickscoping

Getting shot from half way across a map is one thing but watching the killcam and seeing a speedy gonzales with a scope who actually misses you but kills you with one shot is just plain stupid.

I got no problem with noobtubes.

    noobtubes + rockets
    Laststand
    Dropshotting
    Host migration fail

I know dropshotting is gone, the rest aren't :(

Tubes / rockets with danger close /scavenger/ oma
Camping (the worst cod for camping imo)
Not playing the objective, sabo and dom have been ruined by this.
Host migration can be a pain in the ass with a full party.

All in all i really enjoy this game.

    - Joining games that are nearly done. nothing worse than starting a game and have it end in about 30 secs.

-The crappy blood effect - looked like jam smeared on the screen.

Noobtubes for me too, I know they'll be in BO when people start buying them but just think, on launch there there'll be little to NO tubing

    commando
noobtubes - give us ONE like they did with claymores in mw2
boosting - cant be stopped but allways good to dream

quickscoping??....it requires skill unlike a 10 foot long hand slashing you in the face so why get rid of that:confused:

oma and scavanger . the ability to replenish tubes and explosives can be too easily abused . i use it fairly for the most part but i definitely abuse the fact that i can just keep laying a claymore in the same spot to get someone revenge killing me

I'm guilty of this too. Scav doesn't replinish claymores in Bops.

I won't be sorry to see the back of scrambler. Trying to unlock the emblem with 250 kills is really annoying me at them moment. There's just so many better perks I could be using.

its not so much a case of letting the claymore do my work but if im covering a flag or a choke point i like to let it watch my back

any news on exactly what it does replenish ? noob tubes for example ?

    http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Perks

Lethal Grenades (Semtex, tomohawk and something beginning with M) and bullets only, looks like.

Nah, I definately abuse claymores. Plant them all over the place.

Saw a post on another forum before where a guy walked into the photocopy room at work, heard a click and his first thought was "I'm dead".
Just a sign you play the game too much I guess.

This transition is going to be weird for me, because MW2 is the first online game that I've played not just in the series but ever. Can't figure out if I'm gonna miss MW2, even with its flaws.

Without a doubt, I've played it more than any other game and its exceptional value for money as a result.

Did ye dump the older version of the game instantly when the new one came out? Or was the mechanism of playing so similar it wasn't like a completely new game at all?

    To be blunt. No.

There a few games that I plan on keeping for as long as I can possibly - COD4 is most certainly one of them.

Stopping power is confirmed not to be in Black Ops. Commando is too (thank god).

The main one for me is the ability to replenish any sort of explosive including stun/flash grenades. Also its ridiculous for those scavenger satchels to fit an RPG, Javelin, or claymore. Apparently the new scavenger wont replenish tubes or claymores. I still believe RPG's and grenade launchers should be included as they are common on the real battlefield. However things such as Javelins and Stingers should only become available at certain intervals during the game. What about a team captain having the ability to call in a care package once in the game containing a Stinger/Javelin? Thats what the care package killstreak should be imo. Not a laptop in a huge box that allows you to call 3 airplanes loaded with bombs or an enterprise containing explosive weapons.

Can anybody give me an insight on claymores irl? In Rambo this decade he set one off and it blew a huge radius.. How come in games they blow 3 square inches?

I didnt dump COD4 when MW2 came out thank fcuk . I have however dumped MW2 (about 3 months ago) It has turned out to be an abomination of a game . I'm glad they have gotten rid of alot of things but im pretty pissed off they kept "2nd chance" . Every cretin in the game will be using it . Its a sure sign of a terrible player as hes basing his whole game around a death perk
Tubes without danger close arent that bad . I really think the people playing over defensively/camping will be as bad if not worse than MW2 . Also with there being no stopping power/juggernoob , the hosts will have even more of an advantage .
