And does it not take serious balls to get inside a boxing ring?

BTW, Toney will win tonight. Couture is even more past it than James.

Couture's only hope is the ground....

    Is this the real life?
    Is this just fantasy?
    Caught in a landslide

Walshb it's obvious you're a massive Toney fan, your resistance to accepting that Toney is shot as shown in his fights with Batchelder, Greer and (particularly) Oquendo indicate you like the guy quite a lot and obviously have a bias favouring him.

Even in his prime I would favour Couture, but Toney is so far past his prime it's untrue. He's past his prime at Heavyweight by 7 years, and Toney at Heavyweight was miles past his actual prime anyway !

He'll be beaten tonight and beaten well, he has nothing more than a minuscule chance. Favouring Toney is just a reluctance to accept logic.
Anyway Couture stoppage in rd1, whether it's submission, ground and pound who knows, but whatever happens it'll be him winning.

Complete waste of time, just gave Randy a free win. The fight really proved nothing at all, was always obvious Randy was going to win any way he wanted.

Wish I didn't bother watching it.

Nothing but respect for Toney after this fight, especially the interview afterwards.

He didn't give up where most MMA fighters would have, I thought he was actually out and came to, then Randy just moved to side control and finished him.

As Randy said, fair fcuks to him for stepping up to the mark. And I just hope he comes back like he says he will, he just needs he works on his takedown defence, half-guard and try not to slip on his arse when sprawling :P

I've never seen a less entertaining spectacle in my life.

I wont be watching that crap again tbh

maybe Couture will do Toney the honour of taking him on at his sport

Toney was the 1 who pushed for an MMA fight, coutore said he respected Boxing and is a fan, he was class in victory, The fight itself was as i expected-waste of time.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

What's the point in seeing Couture's block being knocked off? What would that fight prove?

probably as much as the "fight" tonight.

probably as much as the "fight" tonight.

Maybe is Randy was the one to call out a boxer saying he wanted to do boxing and that mma was better than boxing, THEN there might be a reason for randy to step into a boxing ring.

True but you have to remember Toney is the one who went looking for this 'fight' and well he got it, it's no one else's fault bar his own(and maybe Dana White for facilitating it) that it happened.

A year or 2 ago there was talk of a boxing match between Anderson Silva and Roy Jones jr which was brought on completely by Silva(although Jones was interested). if not for Silva's contract with the UFC it would of probably gone ahead.

James Toney wanted a pay day and he got it, so congratulations to him. Judging by his post fight interview it seems he may look for more paydays in MMA but after his performance tonight I dunno whether he'll get them.

    Lol!

for once, your way of saying "fight" was right. You couldn't really call that a fight tonight. It was a one-sided spanking.

There was only one fighter in there and it was not James Toney!

I got free tickets for UFC 105 - I left after an hour. Jokers to the left of me, jokers to the right! Couldnt stomach it to be honest, its a sad indictment if this truely is the way that combat sport is going.

crowd was not a whole lot different from any crowd I seen at any of BD's bouts at the point. Might be a good idea to take off the rose tinted glasses with regards to boxing and don't see MMA as such a threat.

to be honest, I would be embarrassed to be anywhere near an arena that was hosting any UFC event.

Its like a convention for the mentally deformed.

Yeah we are all gutted that an inshape Hall of Famer beat a fat rank novice and obviously never trained MMA before.

We all thought he was going to win!

A true victory for the WWF fans! :D

Time to lock the thread and lets the prepubes go back to the pro wrestling forum!

My how your tone has changed over the last 8 or 9 hours! All that talking, and your little boxer didnt get one shot in.

The fight tonight proved who the better FIGHTER was. Yes - a fight - where anything goes.

Randy fighting Toney under boxing rules only would be proving who the better boxer is, which is obviously Toney.

Do you still not get it?
