37 weeks tomorrow. Into the home straight now at last  :D Those early days after Christmas when I was so sick feel like a distant memory! Can't wait to meet my little one and feel comfortable again. God its hard to find a comfortable position in bed or on the sofa now and I'm really struggling to carry my 17 month around but who cares, I'm nearly there!!!

Yesh i had to get progesterone tested at cd21 and i got two results that i don't understand - obviously written in doctor speak!!! :)

I have done 5 home tests - 3 cheapy ones - first couple of tests done last tues were very faint lines so i purchased some clear blue digi ones and i got two positives saying 1-2 weeks. I went to doc yest and got a negative on one of his urine tests and he sent me on my way. This morning i did another cheapy two line test and got two dark definite lines. So so so so confused. HEad melting stuff.:confused:

Keeping my next clear blue for Sunday or Monday, hopefully it will say 2-3 weeks. Won't go back to doc for few weeks now.

I remember being so so impatient for the last few weeks not looking forward to that bit!!
    Roll on January:)

High - Low - How is anyone supposed to get it right!! It's all very confusing. I guess as long as you are interested and willing to put in the work it'll work out great.

I really don't want to give you false hope, but it really sounds like you are to me. When was your last period....are you regular?

  • Registered Users Posts: 190 ✭✭May79

Not regular due to pcos - I'm beginning to think i am and all the stoires of doctors test not being sensitive enough might just be what happened. I am reading up on early symptoms and i think i have at least two of them, exterme exhaustion and sore boobs. (Oh so sore...) Am still holding out to do another digital test next week and that will (should) say more than the 1-2 weeks it said last week....

Thanks for the reply. It helps a lot believe me.

Got a negative on a docs test when I was 8 weeks pregnant, so it's possible that you are. Docs tests are really crap...

I was totally irregular too, like 3 time per year! had a positive at 7 weeks with the cheapest tests going (beacause I didn't actually think I was preg!) had a strong purple line. When I went to the doc she didn't even do a test as she said the store bought ones are much better!

Each day that passes i'm more and more convinced. I think it is because i am so irregular with pcos that i am doubting the positive results o have got so far.

So many people saying that the doc tests are not good - That's terrible really isn't it. They are the people we go to for confirmation and advice - The guy that was filling in for my gp was really flippant and to be honest i think he was uncomfortable! Shouldn't be there so!!!! At this point i think i am but have the element of doubt because of what the doc said. Waiting game!!!

In Holles Street- they ask whether the GP has done a blood test to confirm the pregnancy- I thought that was normal?

It is a bit of a crock that folk have so little confidence in the tests that many GPs seem to be using.......

Apparently the doc should have done a blood test. I might be just really early. Who knows. I certainly don't. No one i have soken to has confidence in the urine tests doctors do.

Hey there, I'm due 3rd of OCT!!

I know my sister-in-law had war trying to get maternity pay, she's half self employed half PAYE. I know in the end she got it on appeal.

It's getting kinda close now, the SW reccommend you send away your form 6 weeks before you intend stopping working. (I'm due to go on MAT leave on the 15th of Sept, so I have 2 weeks to send off the form.)

I would say bring your payslip to the citizen's advice breau and see what thet can make of it. Maybe your husband's accountant may know?

You could also try posting on the social welfare forum:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=861

    bets of luck!!!!

    Tx 4 that. Will do!

I'm 16w5d today and I've had this funny sensation all day. It feels like it's just behind my belly button and it lasts for about 5 secs at a time. The only way I can describe it is itchy. It's weird but not uncomfortable so I'm not worried but wondering if anyone else experienced this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,190 ✭✭✭Samsgirl

Hi, Im new to this site and am wondering if someone can help me out??
Been ttc for 6mts now. AF not due for another 7 days. For the last few days, my breasts are so sore. I also have cramping like period pains on and off for 4 days now. Im sooooooooooooooo tired, all the time. I did an early preg test yest afternoon and it was negative.
Has anyone here had similar symptoms?
    thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,339 ✭✭✭How Strange

Samsgirl unfortunately you're playing the waiting game now. Early pregnancy signs are very very similar to period symptoms so it's hard to differentiate. I had no obviously different signs the week my af was due. I had mild cramping similar to the start of af. The day I was due af u had heart flutters and brief dizzy spells but it was a v busy week at work and I put it down to low blood sugar which I sometimes get before af.

I went to our fertility specialist yesterday - I have been confirmed as 5 weeks pregnant. Am delighted - thankfully the GP was wrong - i had two weeks of doubting myself. Now onwards and upwards - going to do all i can now to help this little one stay with us :)

That's brilliant, just goes to show when you tick all the boxes you know best! Really didn't want to give you false hope as my sister is ttc at the moment with IUI and she can convince herself of anything. She was asking me about things that are happening to her 3 days after treatment when I only found out I was pregnant at 7 weeks so I didn't notice any signs.

Again congrads, hope it all goes well.

By the way I was born in May 79.....you too?

We had our 4D scan on Sunday :D totally worth the money.. baby wouldn't move the little hands away from his/her face for ages so we were sent out with a can of coke to go walking around Blackrock.. When we came back the hands were down and we got loads of shots of his/her beautiful little face :D

I'm the proudest happiest mammy to be in the world.. totally in love, can't wait to hold my little bundle and kiss that little face :D:D I haven't been able to stop looking at the photos.. I've been sneaking loads of peeks of the ones on my phone during work hours :D roll on December !!!
