Hi Jason, I signed up recently to UPC BB using the boards offer URL. Do I need to do anything extra to receive the voucher? Also when signing up I think I checked the Woodies option. Would it be possible to instead get a one for all voucher?
    Cheers

I signed up with a rep at the door, silly me now have to pay 60 euro installation fee.

Just wondering did the €250 voucher offer expire recently? I was looking into signing up via DID but when they went to check on the offer they couldn't put it through as that offer has expired.

I notice though that a new offer seems in place from the begining of August. Perhaps DID just haven't been informed about it yet?

Details on the new offer below. The package names seem to have changed since the last offer.

    That offer looks worthwhile anyway!

Just one question before I traipse out there, are we liable for the connection fee etc by signing up for them through the likes of DID?

Hi Jason, I received my Woodies voucher in the post. Thanks. Is it possible I can return it for an all in one voucher instead?

Hi there AdMMM. Yes, if you order in any UPC retail partner, you will be have the standard activation fee's per box installed.

However, in D.I.D Electrical, Carphone Warehouse, Currys and PC World, you can get either a €250 voucher for any new triple play bundle you order, (from just €60 per month) or a €125 voucher if you are an existing UPC TV customer taking a new broadband and phone bundle, (from just €35 extra per month) so the voucher far outweighs the activation fee's charged, and in most cases that will be just €30 when you are adding one new box.

You can spend the voucher instore on anything they sell, it is a genuine bargain.

    Regards

    Jason

Hi Jason, I am looking at the triple play bundle but I have analogue TV at the moment. If I sign up through DID for instance will I be entitled to the €250 voucher or the €125 voucher?

Hmm, apparently if you have anything from UPC at all you are not entitled the the €250 voucher. That leads to an interesting scenario where you are better off getting disconnected before you go back to avail of this offer..

    Hi Jason,

Can you confirm that if you sign up through a UPC retailer and subscribe to Sky Sports that you will get the first two months free.

    Thanks

    Hi Machalla

As you are a tv customer, you will qualify for a voucher for €125 if you sign up to a new bundle (from just €35 extra per month) including TV, Broadband and Phone.

These bundles are called: FIBRE LAUNCH, FIBRE FREEDOM, or FIBRE SWIFT

    See details here: www.upc.ie/retailoffer

    Hope that helps

    Regards

Someone could easily change a flag on the system and send me out a voucher if they wanted. I'm a boardsie who's recently signed up to UPC (Recently as in the last week), surely a bit of good will wouldn't go astray? I didn't see any boards.ie link on your own site, and until I saw this thread pop up on the main page, there was no way of knowing about the offer.

I went with the woodies/atlantic homecare option but the gift card I received works with woodies only. They wouldn't accept it at Atlantic Homecare, can I exchange it for an atlantic homecare or multi store card?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,796 ✭✭✭Virgin Media: Jason

    Hi there messinkiapina

Sorry about that, we were told that the vouchers would work in both stores as they are the same company. Please contact us direct with all your details on retailsales@upc.ie and we will get your voucher swapped in Woodies for you.

    Regards

Q: for those who have already received their vouchers - what is the expiry date on them?

Also, are there are "catches" like a certain spend before you can use your voucher?

Anything of all to note with these vouchers? They almost sound too good to be true! :pac:

Mine expires in March 2011. No certain spend or anything. It took a while to get the voucher (about a month after signing up), and then I returned mine for a different one and it took a while to get the new one (there was a bit of a mixup).
But I've no complaints, I was going to sign up for Broadband anyway, so a 50 quid voucher will do very nicely :D

Was unsure where to post this but seems as good a place as any so here's hoping some others might benefit.

I've been with UPC for some tims and am currently on the following:

    30mb BB - €42 p/mth
    Digital + - €25 p/mth
    Disney addon - €8 p/mth

    The total is €75 p/mth

I rang up regarding the new offer of fibre rapid - 70 p/mth which includes the phone but as I'm not a new customer, they said that I was not eligible. I expressed my dissatisfaction in a nice way and was put through to " Customer Loyalty" department ( didnt know there was a dedicated dept for this ) .

Anyway, asked the very helpful CSA was there anything he could do ( Jason was his name ) and he told me that he could leave me as is an dreduce my monthly bill to €59 p/mth )

    I graciously accepted his offer - Wham ! - 16 p/mth saved with 1 phone call. Super !!!!!!!!!

    Jason:
    Question for you.

I'm on analogue TV (Had Sky as well but got rid a while ago) & B/B 3 mb for years for which I'm paying approx 50 yoyos a month.
Thinking of either upgrading UPC to Sky Sports, Digital TV, Phone iwth calls and maybe higher B/B (can't get HD yet) or getting rid and going to SKY.
If I go for any of the UPC offers in the shops (250/125) will I get them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,796 ✭✭✭Virgin Media: Jason

    Hi okidoki

You will qualify for the boards offer via this link, but the retail offers are only for either a new triple play customer, or for existing tv customers that subscribe to a broadband/phone bundle, so as you have broadband already, unfortunately you will not qualify for those offers.

Order our phone product though via this boards offer, and we will courier you out a new siemens DECT phone, and you will have a home phone service for just €6 per month, and you will be sent a voucher for €50 to spend.

I would encourage you to look at upgrading your TV service with us to Digital Select Extra, meaning an extra €7 per month on top of what you are paying us, but for that you will get a Digital TV service with Digital Plus (a 160 gb personal video recorder box, pause/record etc) with approx 120 channels INCLUDING ESPN Sports and Setanta Ireland, meaning very significant savings over the similar package from SKY.

    Hope that helps

    Regards

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

I just had a call back from UPC there and I am somewhat confused by what I was told. Apparently because I already have analogue TV I cannot sign up to the packages you mentioned. To sign up to anything I need to pay €75.70 a month to get the 3 services but I can't sign up to a bundle due to being an analogue customer? Also there was mention of an activation fee which I could not get out of the person at the end of the phone despite asking twice.

Can you please clear this up for me as I assume I picked this up wrong or is it just the usual NTLHELL that I've come to expect from UPC? If you need ticket number or details I can PM those over to you.

    Hi machalla

Analogue tv customers that are not broadband and phone customers can qualify for certain retail offers.

    See details here: www.upc.ie/retailoffer

I cannot confirm without knowing your details, some exceptions can apply, for example, HD bundles are not available everywhere (due to network variations), If Broadband and phone are available at your address, then you could sign up to a bundle (once you dont have broadband and phone from us already) and qualify for a voucher. email us again on retailsales@upc.ie and we will check it out again for you.

    Regards
