Kildare were awesome. They couldn't seem to miss whenever they tried for a point.

Its great that we actually have exciting football All Ireland. Kildare / Down is going to be fun to watch and Cork / Dublin is the battle of the big boys left in the Football.

Battle of the perennial losers more like. Better have plenty of paramedics ready in case anyone has trouble breathing. But Dublin can do it

They look like 4 good semi finals between the hurling and football. They have just basically planned my Sunday's for the next 6 weeks.

It seems strange though how in the football both the winners and losers of all 4 provincial finals are out.

Kerry and Tyrone were both aging, Roscommon were muck and Meath were just out worked but they performed the best out of all the Provincial winners.

I wouldnt say age is Kerry's biggest problem sure they only have a handful of last years team I think? With people leaving this year and suspensions etc but yea Down fully deserved their win.

Kinda anyones All Ireland when you think about it.. All 4 teams are on the same level, I dont buy into this "Cork will win" coz they've been average so far and I dont think they know their best 15 yet..
Really hope Kildare can do it! :D

Also Paul Galvin wont be presenting Xpose anymore, he decided against it :( Was really hoping he would..

Before this year, I wasn't much of a fan of football but this year it's really interesting. I can't pick a team to win it at all, but after today gwan Kildare!! Really looking forward to the three matches left :)

I only caught the last 5 minutes of the Kerry-Down match so I can't really make any comments on the manner in which Kerry got booted out of the championship.
But I feel that the loss of Galvin and O Sé, 2 of their real leaders surely should have caused an impact on the match.
Tbf anyways, they really wren't gonna be the same team as they were last year losing the likes of Kennelly and Tommy Walsh to AFL anyways.

Not to take away from Down's victory either like.

Regards Dublin, Alan Brogan, whata man. I can really see the Dubs beating a poor to date Cork team if they pull out all the stops like they did against Tyrone.

Meh, Cork. Knew they'd beat Roscommon tbh. But seriously not impressing me atal this season. Regards Donie Shine, yes he's been playing well but he isn't a Gooch (better looking though :P). A great footballer though who does support Roscommon nicely and save them from embarrasments.

Meath - well Karma's a bitch :D And John Doyle crucified them at the end with a little help from James Kavanagh and Alan Smith during the match.

My prediction - Kildare for AI. But Down will certainly test them and so whoever they meet in the final. Whoever wins the AI will certainly be worthy winners.

Down were very impressive against Kerry. That game between Down and Kildare is going to be great to watch, both are very capable of winning the AI.

On another note; I booked my tickets for the Dublin Match. I never taught I would see Dublin in the Semi Finals after the two annoying times on the hill against Meath and Tipperary.

I'd say it'll be a full Croker for that match.
Are/Will tickets be scarce do you know?

And I agree with you. Wouldn't hold a win against any of them as they are both teams that are really capable/deserved of winning an AI.
Especially with the likes of Earley and Coulter playing for either side.

The AI is there for the taking. Whoever performs well on two occasions wins it.

With that kind of insightful analysis it's a wonder you're not a sports columnist.

Whoever performs well next year should definitely have a chance of winning it in 2011.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,553 ✭✭✭soccymonster

Lads, no need to be stupid over it :o
    But it's anyones game.
I'm thinking that unknown means that since it's anyone's AI seeing as alot of the big guns are out of this years championship, if the likes of Dublin (who are known for being bottlers:P) pull it out of the bag, unlike before, they are well in with a chance even with Cork in their way. And they won't crash and burn too.

But still got a gut feeling about Kildare lads.

That Airtricity XI team were woeful. Although they did play much better in the last 20 minutes after using all their substitutes.
