Murph isn't the worst, I found JT a lot harder. McGhee is horrible also. Seen people at my affiliate do 'The Seven' and 'Nutts' and they both looked very tough.

McGhee looks awful. Could just do the 300 workout too.

Anyone know what a good time for 300 is?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,256 ✭✭✭Molly

No idea regarding 300 workout. It doesn't look that bad outside of the floor wipers (these would get me). McGhee would be a lot tougher I reckon.

Think MagicEightBall did it a while back, should be in his log.

And lolz I was thinking that about the arms. If I was able to butterfly kip I'd definitely be doing sub-3's!

    Are you actually kipping there?
Cos it looks like you just horsed through a sub-4 fran with normal pullups.
Thats not a criticism btw, its awesome.

I'd have said there was a bit of a kip there... chest is coming thru ever so slightly and the momentum generated from my legs is helping. I doubt I'm getting the same assistance a normal kip provides tho. I can't wait til I'm healthy enough to do a legit sub 3!!

    Hell day.....

    "Murph";
    1 mile run (8 mins)
    100 pull ups (10 min 24 seconds)
    200 push ups (13 mins 39 seconds)
    300 squats (12 mins 35 seconds)
    1 mile run (9 mins 22 seconds)

Time: 53 minutes 39 seconds - running straight thru each exercise

This was absolutely disgusting. I cant even describe how it feels. "Exhaustion" is the word I'd use to sum it up tho. I'm pretty sure I was half KO'd after it. One of the trainers in the gym called me to ask how I did, I could hear his voice but couldn't see him. He was standing in the balcony above me in plain sight like!!!! :s

My pull ups were pretty good.... tore thru the first 50 in around 3.30 minutes. Still well off what I need for a good Fran time but in my defence I did weighted pull ups against the clock yesterday and loads of plate flips on Sunday. My forearms and grip are what let me down on it today. Did 5x10, then broke the 10's into 6+4 and eventually 4+3+3

Push ups let me down. Did 20x10 but they were really really hard.

    Squats were ok.... 100, 50, 50, 25, 25, 25, 25.

The last mile was nasty... noticed I was close to going over 54 with about 400m left so decided to push on and get under it.

I REALLY don't wanna try that workout again any time soon.

Oh and I did get a PR.... I've been chasing a sub 5 minute km since I got back cardio'n and I did it today quite easily... probably woulda gone 4.30 if I pushed, maybe even lower, so happy days, not bad for a fat git!!

    See above.

    ^^1 September 2009^^

Time for me to retackle this beast. Gonna go after it today. Dreading it already because my legs are still tight from that pyramid Helen, but schure fcuk it, why not??

Hoping to do it as follows...

    1 mile (8 minutes)
    20 round Cindy (20 minutes)
    1 mile (8 minutes)

All told, I should go sub-40.

    <<Money on the dresser, drive a kompressor...>>

    Foam Roll - 9 positions

    Baseball - feet

    Hip Mobility - 3 movements

    Thrusters:
    40kg x5
    60kg x5
    82kg 2x5

    Front Squat:
    107.5kg 2x5

    Military Press:
    62kg x5
    67kg x5
    72kg x5

    Murph:
    1,600m run
    100 pull ups
    200 push ups
    300 squats
    1,600m run
TIME: 38 minutes 20 seconds - PR by 15 minutes and 18 seconds

Good workout... The thrusters were solid again today. Feeling nice there. Front squats good too. Pressing was alright, I'd say 72 x7's a PR but too lazy to check.

It was all about Murph tho really. I knew it was gonna be a ball buster but anticipated a sub-40 minute time if I did a good solid 20 round Cindy. The last mile was an absolute slog. Such a trek. My thought process was as follows:

200m - jez that went easy
    400m - that's a lap of the track, 3 left
    600m - 1km left, easy jog
    800m - half way there
1,000m - that was an easy km, only 600 left
1,100m - you're half way thru that easy jog, didn't even notice it
    1,200m - that's 3 laps, only 1 left
    1,300m - 300 left
1,400m - a lap of the TF Sandyford track to do, easy
1,500m - 100m, hang in there, two words
    1,600m - FML

    Fair play :)

Did ya break up the rounds of squats etc? 300 squats sounds like a nightmare....

Thank ya! It's so true that the lower your times get, the more it hurts.

Did a 20 round, 20 minute Cindy in the middle for my reps. I didn't partition them last time so maybe that's skewing the results a tad, but fcuk it I still did the same amount of work!

<<Long enough for something to go wrong...>>

    Hip Mobility - 5 movements

    3 rounds:
    pull ups x6
    dips x6
    hypers x6
    hyper sit ups x6
    burpees x6
    squats x6

    Thrusters:
    50kg x5
    65kg 2x5

    Press:
    60kg 2x5

    Bench:
    60kg x5
    80kg x5
    100kg x3
    110kg x3
    120kg x3
    130kg x4

    Dead Hang Pull Ups:
    bodyweight 2x10

    Machine Preacher Curl:
stack x10, drop 2 plates x10.. all the way to empty stack (8 sets)

    Pulldown Abs:
    stack 2x12

Happy out. The mod'd warm up circuit's annoying. Harder like.

Thrusters were solid, but skipped front squats cos I was feeling lazy.

Bench was nice - 10kg off my all time PR while weighing 15kg, done after all the other work, and having benched like 3x in 2 months. Just missed the 5th outta the groove. 4th was the same but I managed to muscle it back in.

Dead hang pull ups were surprisingly easy. Wasn't far away from being C2B either.

Arms were pumped like fcuk after the curls. 10 can't be far off my PR with the stack actually. I guess kipping pull ups actually make stuff strong :o

lol are you seriously trying to get your account deleted? They tend not to do that cause it ****s up the archives and stuff. You should troll your way to a perma ban, at least it would a bit of fun.

Sorry for the off topic Hanley, I just had to lol at L's 'problem'.
