Out of Bundle means just that - when you've used up your current allowance you are charged extra. I would be of the opinion that any VM calls you make are taken out of your flexiunits (calling 171 that is). You could always play it extra safe and dial into your VM by putting 5 after your 083/6/7/9 and then hitting # and keying in your pin code. But thats probably too much effort for some.

I was thinking of that way too. Should be free if it still works that way as its a 3 number.

i don't think voicemail is that important...

Friday morning i was told by three (in waterford) 32GB would be €469...called back a few hours later and signed up for €309...

I suspect 1st agent was quoting 12 month and 309 is for 18 month...i am due an upgrade but they did not do anything extra for me...

i was just thinking the same as i used to dial into my voicemail while abroad on a landline, im after trying the 083 then putting 5 in front it works as i had 208 mins left and after i made the call i had 207 mins left f**k you 3:D

Still no way of viewing units on my3, either on the computer or on the phone. It simply says there is no data available.

Also, apparently "Since your last bill you've spent €0.27." How? How can I have spent that? I have done NOTHING that isn't within my units.

    Any ideas?

Three are a disaster. I've been with Three for 3 years and everytime I have an issue they are just awful to deal with. Still their tariffs are cheapest. You get what you pay for.

I'm am at the end of my contract and I called their upgrade department only to be cut off several times. Finally on Wed I requested got through and was told that I was entitled to an upgrade and wouldn't have to change my tariff. I asked for a call back on Thurs and Fri which never happened so I rang myself today. Some Irish guy who sounded like he couldn't be arsed told me I'd have to change my tariff (to a more expensive one) and that I'd have to pay EUR239 for the 32GB model.

I checked the website and low and behold I find that I'd just be paying the same for the handset as a brand new customer. How is this an upgrade price?! WTF Does anyone know how they determine these things or if there's anyway I can get it for cheaper on upgrade?

A new customer signs up to a contract and gets a subsidised phone, an existing customer gets an upgrade and signs a new contract and gets a subsidised phone. Of course it's the same price as a new customer, you're both basically signing into the same agreement just they are coming from a different carrier.

    This is true.

Same thing happened to me when I was ue an upgrade on O2 once.

Seems counter intuitive, but as the O2 rep explained to me, if you wanted the phone without having an upgrade you would have to pay full price for the handset, which for an iPhone 4 is what €599 / €699?

And I take it the more expensive contract is due to the fact that all the operators have iPhone specific price plans.

They go by how much you've spent with them over the last year and work out your price accordingly. My husband bought the same phone as me in an upgrade and got it 20 euro cheaper last year as he spent more money on his contract.

Go into a 3 store, they'll be able to adjust your price plan to see what way works out cheaper, you can move your plan up or down, they'll explain it all if you drop in..

Sorry now if this has been answered before! When you go out of 3G coverage on your phone, does it switch over to edge or something similar?

Yea it switches over to vodafone, you may still have 3G coverage only the phone is picking up vodafone, the simple fix is to go into settings, turn airplane mode on and off and that should bump you back on the 3 3G network if it's there.

Tried the airplane mode trick but still cant access data when I'm out of 3G coverage? Is there any APN's that i should enter?

ive noticed this since moving to 3 yesterday, a bit of a balls, was rarely out of 3g coverage when i was with o2, and i'm getting the network drop message quite a bit also, not sure if its death grip related, but we shouldnt have to be flicking airplane mode on and off to keep in 3g mode,

whos at fault here, apple or 3 ?

The 3 "sim only" 30 day contact seems to be the same as the 18 month plan for the Iphone but is a tenner per month cheaper - but you can't get the Iphone on this plan.

But does it mean that the real price of the Iphone is actually €180 dearer than it appears given they have made the plan €10 dearer for the 18 months?

It does, but there is a bit of a time lag. I've never actually timed it, but within about 5 mins it has switched back to 3G, possibly sooner than that, but as I said, I've never watched for the switch.

Perhaps, this info could be helpful to someone... After hours and hours on a phone with the technical support, I finally got an answer.... There is _no_ data traffic when you are in 3 (not 3g) coverage. This is the way how 3 works. You will get voice and SMS service only.

Be aware, that as soon as you loose 3G coverage, you iPhone will be equal to a regular phone :D

I've used my N900 in a 2g area with 3 - and was able (slowly) to surf under my data plan.

hmm... maybe it depends on the area... if you are on the same station with strong 3G signal it will fail to roam to 2G for data.... or they've made some changes to the network... anyway, I was told that I won't get data traffic on iPhone if I'm not in 3G coverage...
