Don't worry about Flutt, he's not too bright. Grammar Nazi isn't the worst of it by far with him. I vote we ban him for the shits he's put us through.

so because i am unable to spell that word i should have put up a post about it?

No, but if you accuse others of not being professional, you must expect others to highlight your lack of professionalism.

    It's a very simple concept.

Uncle, the guy accuses the cops of not being professional, and in the TITLE of his thread has a blatant Spelling Mistake

    Jeez, that's just not on.

Someone has to call the guy out on that.

Next time, refuse to let them in or give out information without valid ID.
Saw the Real Hustle last night, showed how fake Police and Garda can con people very easily, because people do not ask for I.D.

Probable series of events leading up to knock on the door...

    Garda Bill: "Hey Garda Tomo!"

    Garda Tomo: "Yes, Garda Bill?"

Garda Bill: "Ye know that guy on XXXXXX Road? The one who gives us free beer during those long, hot summer evenings?"

Garda Tomo: "Yes. I do Garda Bill!"

Garda Bill: "I'd love a beer now without showing my ID!"

Garda Tomo: "Me too, Garda Bill!"

Garda Bill: (Thinks for a second) "Let's roll!"

Chances are, he's not a professional spellerator. Hence, probably no professionalism required.

I would have taken your first point as obvious.

Neither,I would imagine, was he a Garda, hence,I would refrain from commenting on alleged professionalism or otherwise, unless he wanted to take the consequences.

A lucky escape OP. I once had a tenant leave because the Gardai raided the flat, took everything he owned, left the place in a mess, all because they were looking for someone who had lived there a couple of years earlier. In fairness he was in work at the time, and just arrived home as they were leaving. I suppose they assumed that all his belongings were stolen by the ex tenant. He got his stuff back but it put the frightners on him.

Apart from that time,if they have an idea of who owns the house they will always try and get in touch first to get entry by key before breaking the door down, so it pays to be nice I've found.

Didnt know where to post this one. Gaurds called to the door the other day looking for the previous tenant of our house, they were in plain clothes and were not in a squad car. Just wondering could this be for something minor like a summons or would that have been gaurds in uniform doing that? Was all a bit wierd, i told them that id get the phone number for our landlord for them and they just walked into the house without me inviting them. One of them was an old fella and he had his shirt hanging out of his trousers, not professional at all.

    Was it these two lads?

so because im not a guard i cannot comment on the professionalism of a member of the gardai?

I'd never let Gardai treat me like that (walking in uninvited). The second they stepped through the door you should have told them to get back on the doorstep. And I certainly wouldn't have let them take anything from the house, no matter who it belongs to.
No, but if you accuse others of not being professional...

They were acting unprofessionally. Please remember that Gardai are public servants, they are there to serve, not rule over, the public. They stormed into his house with no authorization and effectively stole things. The public are supposed to have confidence in the Gardai and trust them. Acting like that is disgraceful IMO.

In America its a federal crime to tamper with post and can lead to jail time. Over here in this joke of a country its probably regarded as great gas altogether shure !!!
