Soccy, did Louth object to the venue? It is up to the county boards to object to the venue, not Dublin. If Dublin had of got Limerick, the match would not have been played in Croke Park, that is a fact. Geography dictated the choice of venues.

If any Louth posters see this can they please state what the reaction to the venue was, when it was announced it was Croker.

Since you asked, the response was a collective, and knowing, groan.

And now back on. What a game the Tipp one was yesterday. Mind-boggling how such a standard was maintained through it all. Delighted with the result, now to go for the semi's.

To those saying bout the rip-off prices, yesterday wasn't too bad. Yeah 35e isn't the best, but if ya go for 3 games, it cetainly does become good value. Throw in what happened for Tipp-Galway, and ya should be glad ya went.

On a non-GAA note, Stephen Ireland and Shaun Wright-Phillips look likely to be leaving Man City, which is sorely disappointing.

Wright-Phillips is a shadow of the player he once was, so him leaving is understandable.

Stephen Ireland, while totally bonkers, would improve any team in England at the moment. He was amazing to watch for the seasons 2007-2009, and I have no problem saying that as a Man United fan! :p

Don't know if I'd want Stephen Ireland at United. He's a very good player, and a creative central midfielder is what we need, but he's a prize gimp aswell..

I could never understand why such a big deal was made of the pink car incident. It's just another colour ffs. Maybe he was seeking attention at the time, but what he got was way out of reasonable proportion.
As for the Bebo photograph? Sure every second teenage boy on the Internet has a picture like that from some party or night out. Just 'cause he ended up playing soccer professionally he's expected to never kiss girls on a night out?
And nearly everyone gets a ridiculous nickname at some point or other...

He hasn't done anything wrong per se, but everything he does just screams of arrogance and general twattery.

    "Daddy-Dick"...*bangs head off desk*..o_o

And I don't think he was a teenager when that was taken..

EDIT: Nevermind, I lied, he has done something wrong. Refusing to play for Ireland. How many people would kill to play for their country? And he turns up his nose at the opportunity, and flat out refuses to play...

That'd be a pretty good idea! Who set it up last season?

I don't think we had a C+H fantasy league last season for the PL. I'll set one up if people want, but I always lose interest in my team after 2 or 3 weeks :p

I'm in if you set it up - what one would you use?

Is there much maintenance involved in running a fantasy league, or is it simply a case of setting it up and letting it run?

I'll play this season if there's one for C&H :)

I have the admin controls on another league I'm in. I can do it.

I'd use the one on the official PL website, that's the one I always use.

Nah, it's not really any effort, just need to set it up and give the code to everybody.

*shamelessly stolen from the Soccer forum* Maybe by September, get one of the mods to take out the code, so that anyone else wanting to join has to PM you. Prevents non C&H posters coming in at the very end, just to win a league

Yeah I joined too. "Dyslexic CF"
Took me a while to make the team.
Eventually decided on a crap defense, an ok midfield and a good forward line..

I hate when you feel you have the perfect team and then you start getting tempted to mess around with the team.

I have an idea of creating a table of the team names and C&H members. I see it is being Done for the American Football fantasy league which I am in but I will only create the table, if people are ok with it.

A guy I know is running in the European Championships in the 1500m in about twenty minutes. I used to run with him, so it's pretty class he made the team.

He wouldn't be a medal contender, but it's a serious achievement to have made it this far.

If you want to open a new thread for the Fantasy League I can sticky it. Hopefully we'll have a good, competitive league this year :)

Ooh, I know which guy you're talking about (having eliminated the other 1500m athletes from memory). That's really cool that you used to run with him. Fingers crossed for him and the rest of the squad in Barcelona.

Speaking of which, Jason Smyth is amazing. He's a para-athlete, yet he's competing here and he got through the first round of the 100m! He then finished fourth in his semi-final, but unfortunately didn't make the final. :( Gillick got through to the final very easily in the 400m, winning his semi-final in a season's best of 44.79
