2 whores tried to rob me one night in town (Dublin). Was there dancing and they come up start grinding against me 1 on each side of me. 1 on the front grabs me hands and starts dancing with me while the 2nd one puts her hands into me pockets trying to take my phone and wallet. Turned around and sent her on her merry way to ground with a push.

If they're trying to rob you of something valuable, I couldn't give a **** for gentlemanly conduct.

Used to bring em out with me the whole time, until they got stomped to pieces on a dancefloor. I was trying to chat up some hot one so she put on my glasses, lead me out to the dancfloor....and then dropped em. I was so pissed off I didnt even get the shift and stumbled home in a blur. Now whenever someone asks I just say "Sorry, I don't know where you've been."

If your from a small town the best thing to do if someone takes your glasses is to flip out and start hitting anything within arm reach screaming "I'm blind they stole me eyeballs" keep hitting things until your glasses are returned or you've been hospitalised. Whatever happens after that no one you know will ever steal your glasses again.

Believe it or not contact lenses are not fool proof. I once as a joke wore my friends sunglasses inside a club and some bitch made a grab for them and somehow managed to knock out my contact lens (I realise now it must have somehow involved her touching my eye :eek::().

I had to go home with only one lens on, and as a result of differing information in each eye my spatial perception was way off and i missed the coin-slot on the nitelink and basically dropped my coins onto the floor.

You do realise that some people have no choice?

I'm not talking about people paying ridiculous money for a pair of frames, some people have to have the lenses made specially each time, due to a prescription which is too unusual to be mass-produced.

Add to that most people don't want to go around with the bottoms of milk-bottles on their eyes, which is what most of those prescriptions would look like in ordinary lenses, so they have to pay extra for the high density ones.

For heaven's sake, you need these things to see. Stop letting others walk off with them. One thing I always used to insist on years ago before I got laser surgery was no one touched the glasses. I know that some friends might ask, "Can I try your glasses on?" Just say "No!" firmly.

I wear glasses and from a young age I made it quiet clear touch the glasses and get a whole load of pain for yourself. Have been out and my glasses have gotten broken. They do cost a lot of money and from all the comments here it seems they are from people who don't wear glasses. 300 to 400 euro is standard for most glasses, eye test, frames, lenses, anti scratch coating all add's up.
Don't touch my glasses I don't touch your eyes....

Not every one can have or wear contact lenses either....

one of my lenses cost that. yes you can get normal glass but it is really like jam jars. I remember once being mistaken for a mentally deficient person because I had those kind thick lenses (slow talking. smiling benignly, then looking awkward when they realised their mistake) so basically i don't need the aggravation.

but yeah the panic when some girl tries to take your glasses is fierce you cannot force them away from her as they might get broken.

Dont know where you get your glasses but thats about right for a decent pair with all the usual extras. Frame + lens + thinning them down if needed + anti scratch stuff + anti glare stuff + reaction lens maybe then if you get another spare pair its double all that

You could always get a pair from the 10.99 section and dont get all of the above and end up wearing plastic jam jars

(but we had enough of that crap when we were kids/when it was the 80s/90s

glasses are crazy money. i need a new pair soon.. anyway ya women are feckers for this.. i use to do bouncing and the amount of girls that would try take my glasses was unreal... try stealing from a bouncer in a night club = bad idea!! the amount of time my hat was pulled of my head by girls was also unreal... a group of girls took it one night and kept passing it around and wouldn't give it back so i took their handbags which they were dancing around on the floor and wouldn't give them back till i got my hat back and an apology from each of them.... they never done it again let me tell ya!!
