That should be brought in under the rights of the child to have access to both it's parents.

    Question doesn't really make sense??

They can be equal in the eyes of the law but male and females of every species are fairly specialised. The female body needs to be able to produce offspring which means they can be physically very different from males. Males just needs to show off physical prowess and have little use other than providing good DNA in a lot of species.

How can you not see the sense? It is quite simple, do you think that the collection of attributes of either either gender surpasses that of the other? Your response doesn't answer the question in any way.

Depends on the situation and what your trying to achieve, it's like asking is a tractor equal to sports car.

    no, definitely not equal

I probably have a pretty different perspective on sexism to most here, but this is something for you to think about. if a woman wears masculine clothing there's nothing said, it's presumed completely normal. if a man wears feminine clothing, not only is there an enourmous social stigma but it's also considered a clinically diagnosable paraphilia! so it's supposedly perfectly normal for a woman to immitate men but if a man immitates a woman he has a mental disorder? think about that for a while

She's usually considered a butch lesbo or has 'let herself go'.

And unless a man is wearing a skirt & high heels then he is considered a metro sexual for wearing 'girly' colours. If he is wearing a skirt & high heels then he's a cross dresser.

And no men & women are not equal at all & never will be.

Nope, they're not the same. Apples and oranges. That said, neither is superior.

    Definite no.
Anyone hear the RSA ad playing on the radio at the moment?
I know it's based on statistics but the slogan is "He drives, she dies"
We like to convince ourselves all's equal, but it ain't and won't be.
Just like racism, ageism, heightism or any other "ism", it only becomes insulting or degrading when someone takes it that way.
If I said "Women can't drive" (it's lies, really) there'd be murder.
A national ad saying that would never get through to air. I don't really care either way, we are what we are, but there is a differnce in a lot of ways. Thats millions of years of evolution for ya!

Women get a better deal than men. The sexism that existed back in the day has been well and truly reversed.

    Nope

Society still regards certain forms of discrimination against women as acceptable while turning a blind eye to/actively facilitating other forms of discrimination against men

    Both are wrong.

No, and we never will be. Asking are the sexes equal is like asking are two women equal, or are two men equal? Every one has different life, educational and physical skills.
Its is unfair when a man and woman do the same job where both have the same work experience and education background. Yet the man is paid more. But at the same time women have it better in other ways too like we have lower car insurance, were more trusted certain jobs.
So no where not equal but I think both sexes have been dealt good hands.

strange that.. 95% of women cant drive.. compaired to about 50% of men

I am not asking if you think they should be treated equally, I am asking if you think that if you think, in general, are men and women equal? I say in general because it is clear that there are members of either gender which are clearly better or worse than average when certain attributes are compared. It happens to be my opinion that, from my perspective, I think men have the advantage given their (again I stress, everything in general) superior physical capabilities, and I think they are more fun. I am not a misogynist, I get along fine with plenty of the female gender, I just happen to this that their* isn't equality between the sexes no matter how much people want to spin it that way.

*I just happen to THINK that THERE

Of course men and women have different strengths and attributes. Yes, men in general have greater physical strength. Women tend to have much better spelling and grammar, which helps them to make a better first impression when communicating through the written word. This may make us less fun, but I'm cool with that. :)

Male + Female + video camera and big screen tv = more fun!

Can we agree on that then?
