I've come to the conclusion that I have two options.

    1) I start free-hand sketching every webpage I want to visit. I figure that would be faster than trying to load them.

    2) I go back to my old 9.6kbps dial-up modem on my old AST desktop with the Pentium 226 processor.

Far cry 2 is boring, same repetitive crap over and over again in the single player
Multiplayer is the only good thing and even thats average at best.
Operation flashpoint is a good game but pity no one plays it onlne :(

Where I came from in north Donegal they still don't have broadband they're waitin on a 3G connection! Eircom even has a map and the town is red which means they don't even have plans to supply broadband

My sister lives about 2 miles from me and she can't get any fixed line broadband. She is stuck with O2 crap.

Then again most of the people out that way proubley haven't even heard of the internet nevermind broadband :p

Canada have plans to roll out a nationwide free wireless broadband service.

When you here things like that you relise how far behind Ireland is. Ok rant over, im off to bed :D:p

I'm just back from Sweden. Their internet... the speeds.... my god... the speeds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I think you mean "the Swedes.... my God... the Swedes".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,090 ✭✭✭jill_valentine

Other thing about Sweden - The entire concept of theft appears alien to them - people cycle up to shops, put their bikes on stands, and then just walk into the shop, for instance. And I think they must make all their ugly people leave at birth or something. The Swedes. My God, the Swedes.

It's illegal to not look good in Sweden. At 18, if you're still not ridiculously attractive, you're sent to work out of public sight.

Purely for research purposes I direct you to thelocal.se (Sweden's English language news site) photos of Swedish night life from last weekend.

Health Warning - you can go blind looking at photos like that :)

    I
n defence of the rest of the world, as someone who has lived and worked with Swedes for 5 years I have to say Swedes have a poor sense of humour, and it is very hard to get friendly with them.

I had a couple of teething problems with my UPC connection last week but it seems to be all good now:)

Only cancelled my Eircom Broadband just now (I had let it run for a couple of weeks in case I wasn't happy with UPC).

The sales rep I spoke to on the phone made the grave mistake of asking me why I was changing providers..........

I hope THAT call wasn't 'recorded for training purposes'......!!

On the other hand, because all the beer etc. is half-volume, they have absolutely no resistance to alcohol. Win!

Starcraft's basically their national sport over there, it even has people taking bribes to lose games. Even Doc couldn't keep up with that.

Was flicking through the tv channels and seen they found that pyscho over in england, there was a screenshot of 3 police officers and there was 2 coppers with g36cs and then one sittin there with a stun gun and was making a weird face at the camera, i lol'd :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

more than likely telling them to **** off, stressful situation without everyone within range pointing a camera at you :)

and tbh if they have a stun gun out there inside 20 - 30 feet he can be forgiven the funny face

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,513 ✭✭✭Damo 2k9

It looked funny tho because 2 people with 2 big g36c's and then a little stun gun :P
What range are stun guns effective from does anyone know?

normally around 20 - 30 feet max but even at that range your pushing the accuracy

just came across the picture there, you also have an negotiator in the back ground by the looks of things, him and the negotiator both looking at the camera so the picture taker must have done something to draw attention not really a smart thing
