Would it be legal for them to cancel our orders though?
Yes if its a misprice theyre covered. They can cancel all orders and give refunds.

This always happens when a misprice happens online, some people post in the thread saying "its the law, they have to post it to us, we signed a contract blah blah blah"

Theyre covered. All online shops are.

    Amazon's T&C:
Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
This policy applies only to products sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Sellers may follow different policies in the event of a mispriced item.

I bought it of Just-Flash(a marketplace seller) and I can't find anything about mispriced orders on their website:

There were 2 marketplace sellers, Just-Flash and TheComponentShop both selling at the same price.

Long time deciding whether they mispriced it,surely emails should have been sent out within days of misprice not a week later.

Fair play to them - they held up their hands and admitted their mistake, without trying to give some BS excuse.

    Good afternoon all,
I am responding from TheComponentShop / JF to publicly apologise to all involved in this post and who may have placed an order, which we regrettably cancelled.
As many of you are aware, the Samsung SATA Blu-ray drive was incorrectly priced at £14.95, rather than £69.95 and to this day we are still uncertain as to how this price error arose. The product was displayed on the Amazon.co.uk site for a period of three hours from around 10PM Friday to 1AM Saturday morning and over this time; the Blu-ray gathered a substantial amount of interest, which led to an unusual high volume of orders being placed for the drives, with many customers ordering in bulk to take advantage of the error. Unfortunately due to an excessive volume of orders and such a dramatic difference in price, it was unfortunately not financially viable, as a small family run company to be able to fulfil the orders substantially below cost even as much as we would have liked to. Had the loss been £5, £10, or even £15 we would more than likely have shipped them (one per customer), taking a loss, as it is important that our customers are happy shopping with us and we know how disappointing it would be for the order to be cancelled.
You will see that we do consistently provide a high level of service to the best of our ability and this is why we investigated sourcing the drives at a supported cost to be able to satisfy the orders, however we were unfortunately not successful and we therefore issued an e-mail explaining the problem and apologising for the inconvenience caused. We also cancelled the order slightly later than this, to allow people to read why, rather than just receiving an impersonal cancellation notice.

Thank you for your understanding. A mistake was made, we admitted it and most importantly we told the exact truth, even if it could go negatively against us.

We discovered the error on the following Saturday morning, but rather than cancel the order immediately, we felt it appropriate to try and see if we could find a suitable resolution. Cancelling the order immediately would be the option for a faceless company, however as one that likes to provide a quality service; this was quite literally the option to have been avoided if at all possible.

    Fair play lads.

Ye could've went the Pixmania route and started claiming "the price is vile", but ye held yere hands up.
Very refreshing in this day and age, and a sure fire way of keeping customers.
