It was a pointed comment about a specific event where 96 people died, and the poster went on to comment on getting the reaction that he wanted/expected from his original post.

Yours was not the reaction I wanted.
And to be honest your reaction says more about you then me.

No offence meant to liverpool supporters, those that died or were maimed at Hillsborough, or those they left behind.

All you are trying to do is stir. Seems to be your thing.

You referred to me as being a 'type'. I simply asked you to explain this and you haven't.

It seems to be you that is causing the stir.

Yeah you are right. It says that I have limits in how low I stoop for a cheap laugh.

So what reaction did you want to get?

Where you looking to get some Irish Liverpool fans to laugh along with you or something?

Please explain that to me, because as someone who grew up in Liverpool and lost a family member at Hillsborough I don't see the humour in what you said.

Why would you of all people need it to be explained? Surely as it is AH people can say what they want without reproach or need for decency? Isn't that the gist of your first reply or two to me?

Or maybe it only works that way when it suits.

My first reply was about sympathy, and my second about decency, neither about explanation, which you've failed to do.

    Troll.

You are obviously spoiling for a fight Kess73.
I suggest you sleep on it.

    Hardly.

Would be a better title for you, seeing as you have done your best to get involved in me replying to the other guy, and tried your little rises of keyboard warrior and the like.

I love how you keep avoiding the explanation part, you've attributed 'types' to both myself and mikom, yet you have explained neither.

You were the one that was looking for a reaction. When you got one, it becomes about me spoiling for a fight.

If you cannot see why someone from Liverpool is genuinely offended by what you said, then I doubt if you can have it explained to you.

Maybe you were just looking to start banter with Irish Liverpool fans, I doubt many of them would find it funny, but maybe I am wrong on that and you have had banter with people you know about it.

The type that likes to get involved in something that had nothing to do with him. The type that is trying to get some kind of reaction from a person who has very little interest in him.

Or how about the type that enjoys being in a community within a website, that will speak up when his online friends are getting berated at?

We stick together here, and if you hadn't come across the way you did you'd have become a part of AH.

    Are you for real?

"we stick together here" LMFAO are you 15 years of age?

"if you hadn't come across the way you did you'd have become a part of AH" No better make that 13.

Your "friend" was called on what he said, because I found it offensive because I am originally from Liverpool and my uncle died in the place that your "friend" made a crack about. A crack he admitted that he expected heat from.

Maybe it is difficult for you to understand why I find it offensive. Maybe you just don't give a ****e if something is offensive as long as it is not offensive to you. But you do seem to think it is ok for you to back up a friend, so it should be just as obvious then as to why I reacted, despite it being said by a faceless screen name.

Brawls in pubs are not something I have seen much of in my life, so I will bow to your greater knowledge of what they sound like.

I'm done arguing the point with you. You either cannot understand why what you said is offensive to me, or more likely you just don't give a damn about it being offensive as it does not involve anyone in your family and are happy to drag it out further. Either way I cannot say anything to change your viewpoint, so I am done on it.

It's your reaction that was over the top IMO

My uncle, a smoker, died 1 year ago from lung cancer.
I have heard tonnes of cancer jokes since then both on here and in the real world without freaking out.
In fact one of my own posts here even jokes about it..... http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=62580915&postcount=9

I don't have time to read 5 pages (Well, I do, but I couldn't be arsed :D), so can someone give me the gist of how a query about the cost of heating a swimming pool turned into an argument over... whatever it is you're argrung about?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

But - before this thread goes circular - how does the OP have a pool for which he is now buying an electric heater??
