    A really small nuclear bomb is quick, easy and surprisingly cheap in these recessionary times.

    It will probably heat quicker in Provence than in any of the provinces of Ireland.

    Twice the length from the middle.

    Leaving cert physics. Assuming it's going from 10C to 25C and a perfecly efficient heater, €122

    Homework?

    Q= m*c*Temp difference

    Q = 50000*4.12*(25-5)
    Q = 4,120,000 W

    I thought c = 4180 for water. Your result should be in joules.

    If I started to get Yo're Ma all heated up, I'm sure she'd fill the pool with over 50,000 litres of 'water', which should take no less than 10 minutes?

    And I'll do it for free ;)

    :pac:

    If you can afford a 50,000 litre pool and then worry about the cost of heating it then you couldn't afford the pool in the first place.

    Think it was in reference to the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans who died at Hillsborough,and The Sun newspaper alleged that other Liverpool fans pickpocketed the dead and urinated on them

    And FWIW it wasnt funny and was in very bad taste!

    Water expands when heated so the specific heat capacity per Litre will vary

    if you want 50,000 litres at 25c then you can use a heat capacity of 4.1813 Kj / L

    4,181,300 Kj / 3,600 seconds/hr = 1,161.47 Kwhr

    Electricity are priced per unit so in the order of €200 but could nearer €100 if you are on the storage heater tariff.
    https://www.esb.ie/esbcustomersupply/residential/your_account/urban_24hr_tariff.jsp
    Gas is also priced per unit too. But unless you have a condensing boiler there will be a fair bit of waste heat.

    Heat losses have not been taken into account.
    It is left as an exercise to the reader to calculate the initial volume of water needed.

    Are we all assuming the pool is filled with water? That may be a mistake ... and poor scientific practice.

    If I had a 50,000 litre pool, I would fill it with chicken curry.

    *hungry*

    A 50,000 litre pool of liquid magma would take around -0.0001 seconds to heat up.

    Build a wood burning stove attach copper piping and use a submersible pump to pump it through it.

    Using expensive electricity to heat a pool? Pshaw. The sun can do it - look at this.

    You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    It was a play on The Sun's report on Wednesday following the disaster.

    Last time I checked being in AH or any other forum did not mean decency had to be forgotten. Your type may have been brought up in a different manner though.

    Oh the old Harry Enfield "calm down"

    You are quite the comedian.

    If Hillsborough is the kind of thing you need to make a play on, then it just shows you up for the type you are.

    Heeeey, calm down you guys. Dont hold grudges.

    Be like the South Efricans. They never hold grudges. To them a grudge is jest a place to pork their cor.

    Ah fair enough decency is something you can switch off when it suits you. Some of us try to hold ourselves to some kind of standard with things, but don't worry about it, your kind doesn't get hung up on things like that.

    Take it handy, would ya.

    I had a friend who committed suicide with a rope. I dont appreciate your mention of being hung.

    Does that put things into perspective that you are both being ****ing stupid?

    People arent going to watch every little thing they say just in case someone else gets offended. Now can we please return to talking about your ma?

    My best friend did the exact same thing, so I also take offence to that, but please, push past that and carry on.

    I won't take it handy. If you were in a room with me or anyone else with a scouse accent you would not have made that comment. You might have thought it, but you would have kept your mouth shut.

    But because you are online you can hide your yellow streak and throw out your little comment.
