Well how did the gaming go last night? Takes a while to get used to working out directionality (if that's a word)

I might go for the X31's. So is it correct to assume you only need to physically connect the headset to the controller? This is where it gets power? I'm using the play and charge kit so chewing batteries isn't really a problem.

No get rechargable batteries (AAA) they go in the headset, you'll get over a week out of them.

Shammy, what type of recharge kit do you have for your AAA batteries in your Headset? Any links?

I bought one of these a few years back. I've a supply of about 20 batteries built up at this stage, for use in all my remotes etc, and use 6 of them for my XBox controller. 2 in the unit, two in a spare battery back beside my seat for when the batteries die mid game, and 2 on the charger block.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/UniRoss-X-Press-Classic-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B0002LHX8Y/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274111483&sr=1-13

It takes AA and AAA batteries.

how long are the wires and how many of them are there, i have enough of them to be tripping over as it is but dont see a wireless headset thats compatible with ps3 and xbox happening

As far as I know the wires are plenty long....like 16 feet or something. Its one cable that splits at the end to plug into the xbox/ps3 and tv

I bought the ax 720's a few months ago & I really like them. After reading plenty of good reviews I decided to get them.

They have 5.1 simulated surround sound.Other headsets might have 5.1 or 7.1 true surround sound but it makes little to no difference according to reviews & videos, only in price.

They work perfectly in mw2,its a different game when I have them on,very durable & well built too.

have ordered a set of the 720's off US ebay. hopefully will not be disappointed. for the amount of mw2 i play the price is worth it i think

It can take a little while to get used to them , dont have the game volume blaring.
