Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yikes, was there really only 3000 people at the Liverpool gig??
That place is bigger than the O2!

No it's not, Liverpool Arena holds 11,000 standing, The Point has 14,000 capacity.

A friend was there and he says it was about 2/3 full, so maybe 7,000. Probably also due to the fact they're playing Manchester next week which is only 30 odd miles away

Hopefully there'll be a decently sized crowd at this, even if it's nowhere near sold out. A sh!t crowd can be such a buzz kill

Does anyone know what time the gig will be over at?

Yeah I figured it should be easier to bring one in now as these days all mobile phones have cameras in them too.
Just bought a new digital camera a few months ago nothing too fancy but it records in 720p so I'm hoping to get some nice pics and recordings. :p

My rule is don't bring anything you aren't prepared to not bring home, that's why I got a camera specifically for gigs - cheap and chearful enough but good enough to take decent photo's vids (if only the taker was any ood ;-) ....)

To be fair, the majority of people that will be there will be Kissaholics, suffering from severe cases of Rock n' Roll Pneumonia. So even if its half full the crowd will be rocking

Any pre or post show events? Green Room Bar doing anything?

Remember when this tour was originally due to start in Dublin? Good thing they added a few extra dates in the UK prior to Dublin or this probably would have been affected by the volcano.

    Can't wait for this tomorrow.

Got a call from my mate and I'm meeting him tonight to pick up my Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley kits for me and the Mrs. Make up kits and wigs! He's going as Ace and another friend is being lumped with Peter Chris.

First time putting the make up on and first time seeing them live. I'm 43 so have been waiting a long time for this.

Been letting hair grow since tickets released for this. was pretty long as it was. A wig would have been a better idea!

Well if you could see my (lack of!) hair, a wig is essential!

hey guys, just got a mail from ticketmaster saying doors at at 6:30. Anybody know the stage times?

  • Registered Users Posts: 104 ✭✭seventyeight

    Guys,
this may have been asked before but is there a pit for this one? Like, do I have to get there early to get a wristband?

    This is gonna be deadly!

    Cheers

    Guessing
    Doors: 6.30
    Taking Dawn: 7.15/7.30 - 8.00
    Kiss: 8.45 - 10.45

Sounds about right, I'd say between 8.30 and 9 Kiss will be on

I was going to bring a decent camera, but now I think I'll make do with my phone which has a 5mp camera.

Any security staff reading boards will now be primed to search for camera

It was either said in this thread or another, but the general belief is that if the camera has a detachable lens, it can be seen as a professional camera (and you could make money of the prints without MCD's say so) whereas you're never going to get decent prints from a normal digital so thats ok.

I've taken a normal digi to a few gigs and nothing has been said to me.

It's like Christmas mornng! My mate arrived last night with our goodies. There's a Gene and Paul wig downstairs in the front room with make up kits beside them! I have a friend calling around this afternoon who has his Peter Criss wig and make up, and they I have to drive the three of us, in full make up and wigs, to collect our last friend, who will be in Ace make up and wig. I'll then drive the four of us into the city! It's going to be a bizzare afternoon.

this tbh! ive worked security in the point and tbh you may not even get searched, normal digital cameras are fine because there has been no specific notices saying no cameras allowed (they legally have to tell you like the 50 cent gig a few years ago)

theres no way of knowing, the pit is decided with a number of factors in mind, the stage set up (eg catwalk = no pit), crowd numbers (not sold out so im guessing no pit), or even band preferences! If i was a betting man i would day there wont be a pit, but the point is more wide than it is long now so theres no need to worry! ill probably be able to find out at about half 5 or so and ill post it here, if thats any uise to anyone!

I just bought the very last black and white make up (along with green) in the costume shop near me. The woman behind couldn't understand why, but commented that "this stuff has been flying out of the shop all week".

Great photos! The close up shots look fantastic.

On a side note, we got stopped at a check point last night on the way home( I was driving). The looks the Garda gave us staring in the window, with our wigs and make up still on!

Great show, pure entertainment from start to finish.
Like Paul said "some bands want to save the world and tell you how you should live your life" and well, some just want to rock and roll all night and that's what we got! :)
The bombs, the blood, the smoke, the flames, the confetti, the bazooka, the flying guitar, the flying bass player!!!

Great gig, great crowd, great band!

Went to see this last night with a mate(without makeup Im afraid, much too inhibited and repressed for that type of fun)and it was a great gig. Very low key stuff though, they couldve been a bit more flamboyant:)...........at one stage the drummer pulled out a bazooka and blew a set of lights out of it. I thought Lovegun was the best song of the night.

The crowd were a bit subdued though. At least from where I was standing. Paul was brilliant and trying his best to get everybody going, which he did. Did anybody else think the crowd were a bit limp?
I also thought Pauls voice was great, didnt expect he'd be that good a singer live, especially after all these years(and masses of drugs and booze over the years). Him and Gene looked in great shape for a pair of old rockers, obviously theyve been hitting the gym big time.

    great gig.
