I know. Its my day off and I was going to play my PS3. I think GOW collection works but I'm worried it'll corrupt the save game database.

I guess I'll play my pspgo.

No need to get so cranky i thought you might have been referring to my post which was above yours.

I wasn't being cranky. Perhaps I should have included a smiley or something.

If I could thank you more than once I would.

That is an outstanding video, one of the best I have seen on the interweb.

I wish I had a voice like that of an Army Colonel.

Can anyone with a Slim confirm that they are/aren't having the problem?

Whats so special about March 1st if its NOT a leap year?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

Why didn't this happen last year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,408 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Maybe our PS3s are on strike in support of Public Sector workers?

People think its the equation for deciding a leap year must have been off. Slims are fine cause they use a different chipset. Most phat chipsets are CECHK while people who have CECHL seem to be able to play.

    I blame Ken

It could be back to normal after midnight tonight if it is the calendar thing that's fcuking everything up.

Sony will still need to release some sort of update though cos the internal clock will still be a day behind.

How do they get access to our consoles to actually give us a firmware update if the bug won't let us on PSN?

Maybe the update will HAVE to be done via the USB stick?

Yeah but they'll be able to take their time with it if people's systems are working without it just a day behind. If the bug doesn't correct itself tonight when the date changes, then there's going to be real trouble.

Yeah but the OS clock can fix itself then, allowing it to connect to PSN.

People think the problem at the moment isn't that the system reads 29/02/10 and the OS knows its 01/03/10, its that the OS knows 29/02/10 doesn't exist and its getting confused.

Is this when the PS3 will become self-aware and we realise that Sony bought all their chips from Skynet?

I have this horrible thought of my face being slammed in the door of PS3 George Foreman style.

For people on a day off and bored, GOW collection seems to work perfect. Just update your OS clock. Not sure about the trophies though but i don't care about them and am bored.

That's one of the games i'm playing at the mo' so good to know that works at least. Would give me a chance to catch up on my 360 backlog though. I'm willing to bet that today is the day my PS3 headset arrives in the post, just when I can't play MAG!

When PES didn't work last night, I tried Resident Evil.

Now my trophies have disappeared for those two games so I am not putting anything else in for a while.

You don't need to be able to connect to PSN to get a firmware update. You can still download it on PS3 without a PSN account even. Or even via PC if worst came to worst.

Eek, I likes me trophies, so I'll be staying away from PS3 till it's sorted methinks.

The faster this thing gets sorted, the better, with regards to the 360 fanboys. It really is a case of tidying up the mess in the kitchen before the big sister wakes up.

Now what it is is that its as if the two games had never been put in my PS3 (the trophies count for the games hasn't gone back to 0% or anything).

    Still though.

Huh I wonder if when it comes back will you be able to get those trophies again and have them count towars your total, effectively getting double the trophy count for a game?

    I don't see why?

I am hoping the two game sets (PES and RESI) will just appear after the FW update (or after midnight). If they come back and are showing 0% then I will be pretty pissed.

If I have to stick a disc in to get them to reappear then I guess I will know I won't be getting them back.
