*Not the best when it comes to PS3 games...*

If all else fails, take it back to where you got it. Sometimes you can get faults with new disks.

I'm having the exact same problem with Call of Duty. I'd imagine it's a problem at their end as from googling it it seems it's happening to everyone at the moment.

I am having the exact same issue.

I tried to play PES tonight and got this error, so I tried RESI 5 and got a similar one.

BE WARNED THOUGH: When I check my trophies the PES ones and Resi ones are gone (as if the game had never been put into my PS3).

I also can't log into PSN, when I try it says "you have been signed out of PSN" even though I wasn't actually in it.

EDIT: Relieved its not just me.

This seems to be happening a bit too often to the PSN. Maybe Sony should carry out more maintenance on their servers or increase their security.

Or is this how they plan to introduce their two tier system, pay and you get a stable network or stick with the free option and take your chances.:pac:

Have to disable the wireless until they get this sorted as nothing is working here. Wrecking my God of War buzz.

Same thing on this end, glad to find it's not just me, when i typed in the error code this was the first thread that came up:
    http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26690041&page=1

And now heavy rain dosnt even show up under the trophies menu. Initially i thought this was an extension of all the game breaking bugs in heavy rain but it appears not. its crazy that it literally won't let us load up certain games offline now. i can add this to the list of reasons why i prefer xbox live...

That's the crazy part right there, that we can't play a single player game with no internet connection. How messed up is that?

Some revisions to how the XMB works with games offline is needed big time.

I ain't touching the PS3 now until this is well and truley sorted. I do not want any of my game saves to become corrupted.

Seriously, what kind of system doesn't let you play offline when theres a problem online.

    Crazy stuff.

I'm not even connected to the internet, I don't understand why I'm getting this problem?

Are you never connected? It must have been something that was uploaded a day or so ago?

I am not too sure. Maybe every machine tried to connect once and whilst you may not be able to get into PSN maybe there is a download or something.

I hope they realise connecting to PSN isn't the only problem.

Loads getting it. A guy said a similar thing happened on 28th Feb of the last two years. Must be a planned maintenance or something.

I haven't connected it to the internet in a couple of weeks at least i'd say. I don't get it.

Kotaku posted something just there, one theory is that this is the first leapyear in the PS3's life cycle, they changed it to say calendar now. Another one though is that playstation.com recently got a redesign which might have soom effect.

Must be a Y2K thing with the PS3 lol. It doesn't know weather to go to Feb 29th or March 1st so it has to sync online.

I'd laugh if it was true.

Bingo, it a Y2K bug. Well done Sony, a €600 console with counless software upgrades and this got through the net.:D

If it is a planned maintenance, then they should really have let people know.

Well they future proofed it but got rid of backwards compatibility. They only have themselves to blame.

Doubt it's planned maintenance according to their twitter

Thing is though, 2010 is not a leap year. 2008 was the last and 2012 is the next. This should not have happened, unless it was completely reliant on the PSN servers but that would not explain the offline PS3 not working too.

Got this error 8001050f thing and thought it was my dodgy eircom connection. I even changed some settings in my router and still no joy until I googled it, thank fcuk!
Has anyone noticed when they turn on there ps3 it takes slightly longer for the pitcture to appear and the machine makes a slightly different noise?or is it just mine?

Kotaku just updated the article to say calendar. I feel like an idiot for not checking it myself. Last time I reference Kotaku.

Yeah my calender was saying 1999, am highly po'd. I can't play the Playstation at all now as it won't let me offline (I don't play online it was the bro I am going to kill him) Its nice to know that I now have a 600 quid paper weight. They better sort this out quick.
