    Hey folks this has prob already been posted but I was on select extra with skysports addon, my monthly bill came to 60 quid. Tried to change onto that "sports lovers" package or whatever it's called on the website which is 58 a month for the exact same package and the website told me I was already on that, rang CS bout it and they switched me over no problem, was done and dusted in a few mins. I know it's only a couple quid a month but the point is that the CS team didn't try to screw me like I thought they would so for anyone out there who reckon they're being overcharged as an existing customer vs a new package it's definitely worthwhile ringing up. I was certainly pleasantly surprised with the results.

    I tried to do something similar, except I wanted to give them more money, pushed from Billy to Jack and still haven't had a call back from 'sales'

    anybody else lost ITV4 in the last day or 2?

    yeah we lost it last night but I was thinking it might be something to do with the darts, but the tv guide never had anything about it not being available in the Republic of Ireland like it did with the GP highlights a few weeks back, also the darts was fine on Thursday, so not really sure what the story is.

    Edit - scrap that it now says not available in Republic of Ireland, twats. Wonder why we had it then on Thursday.

    I've got the same package as you, gave them a ring to activate ESPN, but all I got was stuff about it already being activated. Well, that didn't quite work. I'll try email next time and see what happens.

    When I rang up I selected option 2, technical support then basically kept choosing the "none of the above" options until I got through to a CSR. Dunno if that made a difference or not.

    The whole thing seems to have been incompt or delibertly misleading by UPC.
    We got a letter saying ITV.2,3,4 is already on the system=True
    Sky 3 'coming soon' said the letter{It was added weeks ago although it is basicy a 'showcase'& advert channel for Sky.
    Sky arts'coming soon'{even though it too was added weeks ago}
    Sky real lives {coming soon}
    FX{coming soon}

    The origional press release said nine NEW Channels coming to UPC.
    It boasts about the nine new channels,but that seems to include ESPN UK and ESPN America which are not new but simply downgraded from premium to digital Max+.

    Looks like the food channel,Watch and Yesterday were only a pipe dream{or Sky done a deal with UPC}

    The letter is dated 29th of Jan and is signed by head of customer Operations,a Mr Stephen Ruschitzko.Shame on him for putting his name to it.

    also beware of the 'free' two months Sky Sports as they are putting it on the bills and having talked to a customer Rep today will take it from your account and give You a credit in the hope you will not cancel it after the two months.

    Really no matter what UPC do to try and be liked by their customers,There are always stupid t&c,s,IMO cynical ploys that only succeed in making their customers MORE likely to choose Sky for TV.

    So UPC,treat us with respect or instead of gaining respect and new customers Yiz will continue to LOOSE to Sky.!:mad:

    100% agee - they have tried to sting me with an 'activation' fee which ironically the T&Cs say does not apply if you order on line(which i did).

    I have been chasing them for nearly 2 weeks on the issue and despite numerous emails they have not replied - the consumers association will be my next port of call for what is a false charge that UPC have applied.

    After all the positivity after their Jan 4th announcement this is quickly turning to anger with the misleading advetisement and hidden charges.

    Also heard that all the offers for 'new' customers only apply for this year - full price after 12 months...

    It was for me until it disappeared a couple of months back. I better check now to see if FX is on mine.

    Really? That only disappeared for me now. Or maybe a few days ago, but certainly not months ago.

    Really welcome that FX is here, but I can't believe they didn't get FX HD. Like they had to negotiate a new carriage agreement to carry it anyway, and they didn't think to include FX HD?! At first I thought it may be to do with some exclusive arrangement with Sky (you know how chummy News Corp. are with them) but I remembered that Virgin has FX HD, so why not UPC? Imbeciles, I say!

    Great to see FX added at last.

    Is Zone reality gone? I never watched it but am surprised seeing as LGI own it.

    FX on channel 126 in Cork. I have this even though I am on the old Digital Select package. Sky real lives on 503. This was carrying CBS reality channel this morning until 9.50 when the screen went blank to be replaced by real lives around 10. The E.P.G. still has 'CBS Reality' programme info.

    hmmmm... where the hell are they going to put the food channel then?
    Anything up around the 512's-ish?

    fx on 126 here in limerick
    and
    sky real lives on 503

    the epg is correct for fx

    cbs reality is gone even though i hardly ever watched it.
    they got rid of one channel and added a new one.

    CBS Reality (aka Zone Reality) a JV with UPC parent & CBS has been removed from the EPG....

    The channel is still listed on the UPC line of channels on their website.

    So all these 'new' channels arrive and we lose a channel - what are UPC like !

    As for adding Sky Real lives to 503 - why ? the EPG is now a complete and utter mess.

    I think we can take it that Watch,Yesterday & Good Food will NOT be appearing on the EPG any time soon....

    an update to my earlier post. Fx was available on the 'select pack' this morning but not this afternoon, so is probably only for 'max pack' subscribers. EPG. still showing correct title but wrong programme info for Sky Real Lives. It makes sense to place this in the 500's with lifestyle channels, especially if they add 'Good Food' later on.

    If you restart your box the guide will be reloaded.

    I have the correct info for FX.

    I can't see the fuss over FX. All the programs are either on somewhere else, rubbish or both. I'd like to see some channel that provides real alternatives.

    FX definitely does have some good shows. Nothing today but I have seen ads for things I would definitely watch that aren't on elsewhere.

    Cool, any examples? There are some cool shows from the US that would be good this side of the pond especially from HBO and Showtime.
