A lot less stressful than being cooked up in the ham computer labs :D

The ones at the end closer to the DART station? Got dragged in there once, on a freezing cold December day, fúcking roasting!

Them's the ones, basement ones aren't too bad, but the ground floor ones are terrible! I find them hugely claustrophobic when they're full too.

Hence why I cherish my quiet, air conditioned, mac room that the whole college avoids :D

**** Balls ****. Anyone got the essay titles for geography? They're not up in the museum building any more. Even just the title for the Global Warming one.

Also, just got an email about an assignment for maths, must've missed when it was given out. Little help anyone?

    Think thats weird? Check out the geology email I just recieved;

    "Hi All,
I changed the deadline for the assignment from wednesday to thursday,
so you could ask questions in the tutorials. But it created a second
assignment. Please do the second one. But if you have done the first,
that's okay. The questions are the same.
    All the best,
    Donal."

    If someone could explain that....?
Also, is anyone struggling with excel for doing the biology graph? The lab manual seems to be asking for the impossible....
    .:(

Got the same mail. I thought that was geology too, but then assumed it was the same mail amacachi was talkin bout. I dont do maths or geology either so I duno!

Havent done the graph yet, duno what its asking but we've done a good few graphs in physics so if I manage anything Ill let ya know.

For the chem write ups are you drawing out the reaction mechanism in yours? I know you said you were typing yours, so was I so I duno if I should put em in or not!

I just thought it was Maths because it mentioned a tutorial, I don't do Geology. :S

Just checking now, seeing as it says mailed by maths@tcd.ie, I guess its maths.

I'm using that programme I posted a few pages back. Works a treat once you figure it out.

Ive come across another one called BKChem aswell, seems to work fine!

Also, Apex? Sorry to bother you again! Just for the Hooke's Law experiement what should the spring constant turn out as roughly?

And does anyone know for the analysis of accuracy and uncertanty section for FP do we just identify possible sources of error or what? Cant remember!

It depends on your particular spring but it should be roughly in the region of 35-40 N/m (you need to show your graph/calculation working that out though).

You just need to identify main sources of error, the ones that would most affect your accuracy, as they'll overshadow others. Then roughly estimate overall % error.

Then you need to (at least the friday class do) give a relevance to medical/bio/earth science with a very brief (sentence) amount of detail.

Remember to do that and you should get a good few marks.

Kinda an emergency, what way are we meant to submit the essays for Geography?

The bio report thing said no more than 2 pages... I've put in a meaningless yet massive table of all the measurements I took and made the font HUGE and still I'm finding it hard to fill one page!
Don't even know what I'm meant to be discussing. It was a prawn. It had a claw. One was heavier than the other. What more could anyone possibly say???

Anyway the rest of my fun filled night is dedicated to starting my chemistry report in time for 10:00 tomorrow so I'll just leave the biology as it is...

    I emailed Dr.Irvine......

    Dear Paul

Thanks for your message. I think your difficulties arises because either I did not explain well enough what was required or you did not listen well enough in class, or maybe read the extra hand out asking what we wanted . There was also an extra hand out specifying what was required this year, but we will need to make sure that the manual is amended in future to avoid confusion, We do not need you to follow the graphical example in the manual, only to produce an example graph, and estimate the slope. The y-axis will be "biomass" and I suggest that you plot both linear and log to see the difference between the two, but you can only estimate the slope on the log-log plot.

    Best wishes

    Ken

    Hope this helps!

Cheers! What a bitchy email! Cnut!

Also on the subject of lecturers not mailing back, I mailed Senor Thermodynamics a few weeks back looking for solutions to tutorials and got no reply and mailed Captain Boomvoice about our MCQ results and got nothing. Some real helpfull bastards there.

    WHAT?????????????????:mad::mad::mad:

I'm after doing all four of the log10 graphs as it said in the manual!. He can go take a run and jump to be honest. I've still to write it all up and have got to find the slope of the graph. YAWN...

Who ever thought an experiment on a fugging prawn but be anything other than idiotic, and pointless.

It says "one of the following" in the manual, and "one" is in bold.

**** it anyway, I'll worry about it in the morning. Though I really do find the fact we haven't had word about the MCQ yet pretty laughable.
