I was playing free for all last nite in wasteland and there were 2 guys boosting and to make it worse they were telling everybody over the headset so basically one lad got his nuke but left the other guy get 19 headshots before the other guy used his nuke, and trust me i spent the whole time looking for them but cudnt find dem.. I sent the 2 of them a msg but one never replied and the other guy goes "its only a game and not to be getting in a tiz"

I cant think of the map (has a tower, alot of small buildings and a lot of long grass, bridge over a canal etc) but we were all searching for this one dude who had like 18 kills and only 4 minutes into a free for all game. 3 minutes left and he had the nuke, some other guy had died nearly 30 times. Couldnt find the guy at all...we all reported him for cheating but how the hell did he go unnoticed the entire match!!?

    edit: map is called Underpass

also, any news on more maps coming out any time soon?

Underpass is huge with plenty of places to hide.

Were you using the Sit-Rep perk? If he's boosting with a mate then he's bound to be using tactical insertions. Still not guaranteed to find him, but it can help.

Tallon is right, the matchmaking and migration is the single biggest issue with MW2. I was on holiday, came back and had to update MW2 to a new patch that came out and the matchmaking has gotten significantly worse, and I didn't think that was even possible.

I've a 30mb line with < 15ms ping and yet I've found myself sitting there for minutes while it searches games, going up past the 100ms mark regularly, then when I finally find a game it's lagging like ****. Consequently I've played about half an hour since and probably won't bother with it again until I see what the next DLC and patches are, it's remarkable that I go into MW1 and find a game instantly with no lag, yet sit there for ****ing ages trying to find a reasonable game in MW2.

Combine this with the boosting and everything else that goes on, the single redeeming factor to the game is the actual gameplay. The maps are horrendous, the setup is horrendous, the killstreak rewards are totally OTT and reward camping and other ****e play. IW have really dropped the ball on this one and I am thrilled it's not looking like it's going to get game of the year. They've made a fortune from console sales and even pc sales, yet they can't fix anything properly.

Over a million copies were illegally pirated. Gotta keep that in mind too.

Sorry I'm fairly new to all this lingo. What do you mean by tactical insertions and how could he boost without somebodyelse?

Alright, if he's got 25 kills and no deaths, then the chances are, him and a mate are boosting. So, in Game 1, he'll shoot his mate in the head / stab his mate 25 times in a remote corner of the map, in order to get a kill streak of 25 so he can call in a nuke. Then, they'll swap for the next map, and his friend will get the nuke.

Now, in order to make sure that his friend respawns in front of him each time, the friend makes sure that he has chosen "tactical insertion" as his equipment. When he uses this, he will be guaranteed to spawn in the same place where he was killed, thereby saving him lots of time running around trying to find his friend.

When you're using Sit-Rep as a perk it puts a little red-dot on your screen to help you identify these tactical insertions. So, find the tactical insertion, and you've found your booster.

Make sure you kill both boosters, then wait for the guy to respawn and kill him again. Easiest 3 kills you'll ever get :D

I've only ever seen boosters on a Saturday afternoon (PSN) so I'm blaming kids for it.

EDIT: He couldn't boost without somebody else's help, sorry if that wasn't clear in my earlier post.

You'd be better off doing some research than expecting someone to answer that. Start here

Id say those lads were hiding upstairs in the building at the back left on underpass

Ps underpass is a horrible map and you're better off not bothering to play it.

I was playing tonight on the PS3 and came across my first obvious cheater. Some guy was managing to fly up into the sky and snipe at folk. Once he realised we were onto him he moved himself out to the edge of the map and sniped from there.

Why oh why. I was mightily peeved and had considered leaving the game but there was no point. It would end as a loss for me anyway so I decided to stay and try win the game. It was very close but our team lost the game unsurprisingly.

    C'nut. What's the fupping point.

I don't think I've ever come across any glitchers or boosters thankfully :)

The worst I found was a guy with a coloured name but that's about it

Hey guys, is the care package glitch fixed yet!? I was playing tonight and there was a godawful amount of harriers etc. in a few TDM's... thought they patched it already?

MW1 is the best game i think.

Really starting to be put off it now.Having played the bad company demo i think its gonna be good online

In all my online play, as well as my brother's, we've come across one set of boosters and two care package glitches.

That being said, I do have to agree on the complaints about host migration/occasionally ridiculous lag/server timeouts - several times now I've been in a good position to kill someone or destroy a sentry gun or whatever but due to host migration and lag I've somehow ended up dead.
Annoying, esp. as you're after forking out for the game as well as XBox Live (I know IW probably don't get money from the latter but you'd think MS would be pushing them to sort out the online experience) and end up being dependent on your connection to someone else's XBox half way around the world instead of some dedicated servers somewhere on your own continent.

I'd love to know how matchmaking works. Teams are often ridiculously over-powered on one side and under-powered on the other.

They patched the original method, but since that a new, easier method has come about. Lame eh?

I'm not playing it until this care package glitch is finished. Went into about 4 games in a row where it was just care package after care package.

I don't mind the guys that go around stabbing people with commando, lightweight and marathon because I can deal with that but someone who stays at their own base with an infinite number of harriers, pavelows etc is just ****ing annoying.

Thats because of preformed teams. Pick the deathatch mode that doesnt allow it.

But that 7/10 gonna have to two people working together nuke boosting...just cant win

The chances of two people knowing each other ending up in those games is low, unless they join after the game has started.

Yeh played a game last night where it was just constant harriers chopper gunners one after the other, i found it hard to believe other team was that good that they could get them so quickly and continously

It's not always that, the top guy from my team and the top 2 guys from the other team on one mission could well be together for the next! Doesn't make sense to me.

Underpass is huge with plenty of places to hide.

Theres a video on youtube demonstrating a glitch whereby you can literally go up a good 60 or 70 feet in the air on Underpass. I havent tried it myself.

Akimbo 1887s are ridiculously overpowered. Playing Highrise TDM last night, I was getting slaughtered. While running around, I noticed Akimbo 1887s on the floor (someone else must have killed him. The way I was playing, it couldn't have been me). So I picked them up and said I'd give it a go. Got a streak of 8 kills. One more and I would have gotten all 3 of my killstreaks.

As soon as I lost them, I was getting shot everywhere again. Mostly by the guy with the 1887s.

Also, I hadn't played MW2 in a few weeks. Have to say, I only found 2 care package glitchers (on my own team, though I couldn't figure out who it was, I was planning on sending them a message), and never found any boosters on FFA. The matchmaking is stupid though. Most games I couldn't move without someone pulling off an amazing shot to kill me. I'm not, nor will I ever be, good enough to play against people like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,834 ✭✭✭Useful.Idiot

jaisus, you should have seen the 1887's before they were nerfed in the patch then. At the moment i don't think they're overpowered, they're just like any shotgun. But before they were one shot kills from ridiculous ranges, everytime.

Care package glitching is the annoying thing nowadays, I must admit I have tried it myself and I don't find it very much fun. IW really have to sort that soon.

Anything else, crazy knifers and all that ****e is easily stoppable.
