wow that is a harsh sequence

Yeah, plus a 3rd today. I seem to remember a lot of them get placed and was keeping track with the idea of backing them on the place market to fund the win bet. E.G if it was 6/10 a place £100 on would cover a £60 win bet, if it was placed of course. I dont know how it would pan out. If I could find a full record for Segal that gave the placed horses it would be a lot easier to figure.

I just got in. Was todays tip a non runner by any chance?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 241 ✭✭pizzor

Meridian City lost came second stuffed up second last jump, SP 2.25 was a 1 pointer.

PWE looks like going into the red agian if not in the red with mel collier up next 2 days.

Looks like Parpaillot 12.50 7s from 8s, will fav Fistral Beach finally win a race?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 241 ✭✭pizzor

Tip was Parpaillot at 2pts advised at 8-1, SP 12-1, mel collier should really be replaced now his record is absoutely terrible he costs PWE a better record. They should replace him with Ben Hutton his having a really good run in his Yule Blog Advent Calender on the RP website.

Couldnt agree more. I stopped backing him ages ago and lapsed a few time, but never again. I think he would need to tip a 20/1 winner just to get back to level for the last 8 weeks.

Backed in to 7/1 ,drifted to 10/1 and pulled up before the 4th last.

Hello to the Racing Post boys :)

Have you thought about finding a new tipster? Mel Collier has been proven to be poor, very poor. All pickers hit bad patches but his strike rate is awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭Seanohea

I've started laying mel collier's tips today, i should make a good profit. Hopefully he doesnt pull a 16/1 winner out of the blue. He's an absolute disaster. Just going to lay for a fiver a tip, for a laugh as well as a profit.
The pricewise extra lads arent doing that great themselves without having a liability like mel collier tipping.
I'm not so sure about Ben Hutton, but he'd be worth a try for a while anyway, cant be any worse than collier.

I fixed that and thanks for keeping an eye on it. Its easy to make the odd mistake. The small amount of stats we have appear to confirm that Seans idea a few months ago that Tom Segal and Andrew Barr on PWE were the only ones worth following. Segal can have long losing runs with the paper tips, but I have been backing him for a good few years, so I always do his.

    Cabinet Minister 1.50 Exeter 22s - 14s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭Seanohea

Ah well, i cant lay it at those odds, might put 1 euro on it :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,135 ✭✭✭POINTBREAK

Good jockey, but very small stable with no history of pulling off a betting coup. I think it will drift from 12's out to 20's and be unplaced. If it gets backed in to 7 or 8 I would be worried it might win.

on the page it says writes ben hutton after a paragraph but theres a picture of mel collier on top what the hell is happening lol

That looked like a non trier to me. It travelled well, jumped well but was never asked a serious question. No doubt its handicap mark will be dropped. I wouldnt be surprised if it won in the future.
