Aye I might be. But sometimes ignorance is bliss. That reminds me, I must go top up my phone credit. I'll expect your PM with the hour :D

Don't worry about it, you'll be grand.

Actually, to be honest, I'm probably the least arrogant person who has ever existed. I can actually come across as quiet and shy.

A club is about the worst place to find a partner.

For starters there is a significant amount of guys looking for one night stands. Their standards are not particularly high, as they are not looking for the best they can get, they're just looking for something that will do for the night.

Now, many girls who get attention from these guys make the mistake of thinking they could get a guy would even consider choosing them as his girlfriend. WRONG.

Then to further confuse things you have beer goggles. A phenomenon i think affects men far more than women. Thus in clubs, girls get attention from guys who wouldn't dream of going with them sober. To make things worse any guy with dignity would have to be pretty locked to just walk up to girls and let them know he fancies them. So, the number of drunks chatting up girls is even greater increased (i.e guys who wouldn't go with them sober).

Then you have the worst of all, the drunk one-night stander. As he gets rejected by more and more women he eventually gets so desperate he starts chatting up almost any female who isn't deformed/clinically obese. He scores one of these girls to soothe his battered ego, and now THEY think that this guy would even consider loving them. Again, WRONG.

The best place to meet a partner is out in the real world. Apparently the relationships with the highest succes rates are those that had a short period of increasing friendship before the relationship. I can understand how some people don't have much contact with the opposite gender, so for them clubs are a neccesity. But for the amount of effort people put into them (and for the unnaturally high proportion of tossers to genuine guys doing the chatting up) I'm inclined to think it's a waste of time.

Someone on this thread described clubs past a certain age as "meat markets", is internet dating really any worse then? At least on the internet you could cut through all the bullshit (i still think meeting someone out in the real world would be best though).

The fact that so many people on this thread seem to have loads of experience of meeting people at clubs but still have yet to find "the one" kinda proves what I'm saying.

Thank feck i'm not single, trying to meet people in clubs is just a pain in the arse.

So very true... It really is a bitch!!

I've almost given up at this stage. I sometimes wonder where I will find the love of my life - it clearly won't be in a night club! For some reason I think that someone who is genuine (I'd regard myself as being genuine) is at a serious disadvantage in a night club situation.

On another note here's the ultimate dancing moves to attract the women (for all the wrong reasons) -

That's not what she told me. You should have heard some of the stuff she'd say behind your back. It would make a sailor blush.

I'm positive I will win the lotto. I won 63 euro on Friday and about 5 euro on Wednesday. A round of Magnum ice creams are on me. Not literally though as that's a bit messy.

    cheeky grin
appears to be enjoying himself, smiles
well groomed and nicely dressed (but not flashy)
    not falling down drunk
    twinkle in his eyes
smells nice (does not mean gallons of cologne!)

Those are the things that would first attract me. If we started to talk, then things like intelligence, sense of humor and good manners would become important

It's hard to analyse properly. I can try and help, but in my experience it just seems to...happen.

I'd be inclined to go for guys with long hair, beards and tattoos. I'm not too picky. I love the Scandinavian look, especially Finnish men (hot!!!), but at the same time, I also like the tall, dark and handsome look.

    long hair: check
    beard : check
    tattoos: check
Finnish: I'm Irish but resident here so I guess that counts.

I'm home for Christmas on the 17th, PM me :)

Whats funny is Finnish girls hate the fact that they are either really shy or drunk, whereas being Irish and drunk comes off in more of an adorable way for some reason :confused:

What someone said earlier about arrogance also makes sence, I came home for a week with no intention of wasting my time (no offence) trying to score girls at home, dressed casual, didnt shave and a girl I wanted to be with for ages ended up trying it on with me.

I defintely go for looks first, and I love a man that makes an effort and dresses well. I've a real thing for short men aswell. Don't know why, just keep going for them! I love that small muscly dude out of JLS, the band that was on X factor last year. Give me a short man and a tall man and I'd go for the small man any time.

    mmmmmm small muscular men.......

Someone well dressed. Who's not eyeing up every woman he thinks he can have a shot of. He needs to be genuine and willing to chat. None of that groping, cheesy crap that they sometimes do. And don't be too drunk. But .. most importantly, talk to me like I'm a real person and not just another woman in a club. Do not stare at me with those ''will you come home with me?'' eyes. I don't like that. Chat like a real person! :)

I gotta hang with you lot more often. :)

Kidding. I tick most of those boxes though. (I'm just ugly is all)

Alot of that stuff is common sense anyhow. I'm sure any lad with a proper upbringing would tick most of those boxes.
