OK Bubs. First.I dont understand though. Are you saying that the complaint was in regard to me keeping a record of how their tips performed?

Second, I do follow the market specifically for those bets. Mike and others, who post here came up with a way of working out the tips from the timing of the market moves and that is exactly what I do. If you dont follow racing you wouldnt understand how it works, but its simply cause and effect. The tip causes the market to make that tip the best backed horse of the day in most cases because of the volume of subcribers who back it. There are other factors, but that is basically it.

    Third
By the time I post my record the information is already in the public domain since it it published by racing relay in a different formatand in much greater detail. Each time the RacingPost tips a winner it is also published by them.

I'll keep it simple - there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't keep a record of these bets. The complaint wouldn't have been generated by that.

Yes Fineform, I agree with you, but the Moderator removed my record, so its only fair that I wait on a ruling from him.

There should be no problem with posting a record, sure the racing post advertise when a winner comes in and they also advertise in the paper how they are in profit every month. In a sense we're just also advertising how good pricwise extra is as well.
I can understand the copyright issue of a subscription service, but i cant see any problem with this.

If anyone from the racing post is reading this, which they probably are, could you give Tom Segal a few more days on pricewise extra and any chance of giving mel collier only 1 day if any at all. :D

It looked like you were copying and pasting that from the Racing Post site. I'm not a member so I don't know what's there and it was never specified what exactly the problem was just that there was one so I'm not sure what's being copied and pasted and what isn't and a post with a colour scheme and P/L records of Racing Posts analysts aroused suspicion. But if someone who does subscribe can confirm that it wasn't copied and pasted I'll allow it in future. I'm just airing on the side of caution

Talking of Andrew Barr: he has offered up Fathsta (14.20 Lingfield tomorrow) in his Weekender column for the Racing Post. Has run a couple of stinkers but is well in on his best form and is with a new trainer. Handily drawn in stall 3 too.

Currently @14-1 with Stan James and 10s with Bet365. Both of these prices look big. ;)

i have suscribed and have been a culprit in copying and pasting the selections as they come up on the racing post website. I am sure that this is the reason why they might be complaining about copyright infringement etc. there is no record of winners/losers on the RP website and I cannot see any reason why a record of results and profits could not be posted up here. The RP is very open with its statistics and do not charge for this information. The copying and pasting as seen in some of my posts will stop but I think the records that are being kept should be re introduced.

Thanks for the reply Bubs, its not cut and pasted from the Racing Post site. Its just something I started doing about 2 months ago when I decided to track the results. I was wondering why you had mentioned the colours, but now its pretty clear.
The names of the tipsters are public domain as is the information regarding what days they each give tips. The racing results are public domain and are reported in the racing press. The only thing that the Post dont like is that it is possible to deduce their tip from watching the market and I would say that their complaint was one of copyright because of the information that was cut and pasted.

    Timeform 1-2-3:
    1. Fathsta (IRE) 2. Ravi River (IRE) 3. Autumn Blades (IRE)

    Timeform View:
A change of scenery could be the catalyst for Fathsta to return to form, and he is undeniably well treated on his best. Ravi River should go well once more, while the quirky Autumn Blades can continue to amass place money.

I wonder do they ever give the same tip on PWE. That could be a tempting one to lay to bet.

Ran well but got tired in the final furlong. Heavily backed too down to 5-1 at the off which made it a value if not winning bet. Def one to look out for next time!

I thought Tom might have had an opinion on the Breeders Cup races tonight, but sadly nothing in the paper. The Pricewise column today on the US racing is by
    NICHOLAS GODFREY.

Good old Nicholas. Who is he ? sounds like their solicitor !!

    Fontwell 1.10 Aldertune 7/2.

I'll give this one a swerve.

    11:33am

    On the exchanges

A fairly busy morning on the exchanges, with the following catching the eye.
    1.10
    Aldertune 5 in to 4.2

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 133 ✭✭markhiggins

im sure you have all figured out what my tip is going to be today...he should have plenty of stamina in him and the three pound claimer harry skelton is a good booking. not much of a race but that said the big yards are represented. we know that the ground will suit aldertune and that fitness should not be a problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,135 ✭✭✭POINTBREAK

I cant see any reason not to back it. Its odd though that there is only 10k matched on betfair at 11/4 - 5/2 while there is 2116 bets with the bookies acording to the RP.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 133 ✭✭markhiggins

it was 3 to 1 general this morning aswell so its not as if the prices have been slahed to much
