i thought weekdays were to be avoided  ,does anyone keep track of hugh taylors tips the way you keep track of pricewise tips...how do they compare

Thats the first weekday win in a few weeks and the first "double" of any sort in even more weeks. I wouldn't bank on a turnaround in form. Hugh Taylors returns can be checked on ATR - August stats, he was about + 50 for September before yesterdays treble I think.

    1.25 Salisbury - Youm Jamil
    4.50 Salisbury - Christophers Quest

    Youm Jamil (USA)
Cost 140,000 gns and is a half-brother to 6 winners. Interesting that he holds an entry in the Racing Post Trophy, so well worth considering if the market speaks in his favour. 11.5 on betfair

    Christophers Quest
Free-going sort who was placed 3 times over 7f last year. Not badly treated on belated return for new yard, but yet to convince at this longer trip. 19 on betfair

Any idea who gave the tips?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,135 ✭✭✭POINTBREAK

The market isnt speaking in favour of Youm Jamil at the minute. Its out to 15 on the exchanges.

Didnt see the race but from the txt commentary it ran well for a 12/1 chance first time out. It might be one to follow.

Fairly heaving it on Christophers 12/1 from 40's........... wouldnt it just be typical if it won.

Drop back in trip a big plus for Silver Socks
    Silver Socks
    1.50 Ayr
1pt win at 12-1 Boylesports and Sportingbet, 10-1 generally
This sprint-bred son of Captain Rio caught the eye over an extended 7f at Ayr last time when showing good early speed beforefailing to last home. The return to 6f is very much in his favour, and you could easily make out a case for this being a drop in class as well, writes Mel Collier.
On his debut, he’d finished a length behind today’s short-priced favourite Kellys Eye, and given the fact that Ian Semple rarely has first-time-out two-year-old winners (he’s averaged a 4% strike rate in recent seasons), there is no reason to think he won’t come on as much as the market leader.

    RELATED LINKS

Kellys Eye was messing around on his debut – hanging, and got a slap down the shoulder – which could be put down to inexperience, but the dam was a bit of a thinker and it might indicate some temperament issues.
By the way, with a false rail fitted on both sides of the straight the low draw bias we saw at the Ayr Gold Cup meeting could easily be reversed or eradicated today.

so his profit for august was 26.54 points, so if use 100 for 1 pint my profit for august would be 2654 ?
    and another win for hugh!

Yeah, thats correct but at 100 a point you would need about 15-20k as he invests around 10 points a day........today you would have had 800 in bets and got 900 or 1000 back.

    Rush in for 16-1 Hasty
    Hasty
    1.25 Newmarket
    1pt each-way at 16-1 generally

Barry Hills's filly was beaten into fifth place in a nursery off a mark of 84 at Doncaster last time and if you judge her Group-race credentials on that form, she clearly has a lot to find with the likes of Blue Maiden and Sweet Sonnet, writes Matt Williams.

    RELATED LINKS

However, that Doncaster nursery is already turning out to be a decent contest and the 6f110yards was arguably too sharp a test for Hasty, who will appreciate 1m next season. For now, though, 7f at Newmarket should provide her with a sufficient test of stamina and if a couple of the market leaders fail to give their running, for whatever reason, Hasty might be the one to take advantage.

Some of her maiden form earlierin the season was respectable and when she did eventually break her duck, she beat a smart filly of Richard Hannon's called Pollenator (went on to win the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster), and although the second has since improved out of all recognition, Iwouldn't be in a rush to down Hasty just yet.
This race has a habit of throwing up a shock winner and we shouldn't get too bogged down with official ratings and proven Group form in these better two-year-old races, as we have seen on more than one occasion this season, including Joshua Tree's Royal Lodge win at Ascot last weekend.
Hasty stays the trip and conditions are ideal. She could run into a place at least and at the current high of 16-1, punters will get a fair return even if she finished third.

I say a good few. S. Suroor described this horse as one of the best in his current stable, so worth a punt!
