Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

€39.99. It excludes vat and delivery (I think delivery is a fiver but when you spend over a certain amount it's free) but it's still a great price for it. They're absolutely great chairs.

Agreed. I got one first time around and it's still going strong. It's comfy and well built. You can't knock it at this price.

I have one of these in Kinsealy (near Swords). It is in perfect condition.

It is free for anyone who can collect it.

EDIT: This has now been collected.

I got these at 29.99 in January of this year from Viking.

It might have been a first time order or something.

How do you handle the fact that your supposed to be a company to order off viking direct?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭dingding

THey don't mind. Just put in your name as the company name.

Got loads of stuff off them over the past few years.

I just ignored that bit and filled in my name and address as normal.

Surprisingly sturdy chair for that price. I got it for my daughter (I get a hard kitchen chair) so it's got a fair bit of battering (used as a fairground ride usually, rather than a chair) and it's still as good as new.

Mine was delivered this morning and I'm sitting in it as I tyoe now. It was delivered in less than 48 hours. Took about 20 mins to assemble and I have to say I'm really impressed. I expected it to be quite plasticy but it's not at all. It's sturdy with strong metal armrests (I wouldn't recommend standing on it though). 50 odd euro for a decent quality, leather office chair is great value. Thanks OP

I take this to the check out and shiping is 5 euro extra. Which is understandable.

VAT is another 10 euro though so the final cost says 55 euro. Is this correct?
Should I have said something different when I signed up? I have not ordered yet?

Available in cream for an extra €10: http://www.vikingdirect.ie/catalog/catalogSku.do?pr=QD7&id=979130

There use to be free delivery on your first order with Viking, I'm not sure if that's still available.

Bought one of those a few months ago. Wanted it delivered to another address and everything went perfect.
Even got a call back because they wanted to sent me some free printer paper because it was my first order with them.

Best chair I've ever had, got it when it was first on here, still going strong!

Make sure to tick the "Don't send me ****" box though, I get new Viking Direct catalogs every few weeks!

Mine came today. It had everything with it... but I cant seem to find the long screws that are supposed to come with it. I have the little silver things that cover the screws... the little silver cap things.

Anyone know where in the box they should be incase I am just looking in the wrong place. Hope I dont have to contact them about it.

Have a look to see if they are screwed into the actual seat itself. I spent a while looking for them too before I read the manual where it says they could be in the chair!

Hey Cronos, the screws should be in the frame of the chair already, not in the bag with the
    silver things.

What company do they use to deliver in Dublin city centre?

I ordered one of these bad boys today!

Got this chair today, very happy with it.
Just wondering, does everyone else have a little give when you wobble side to side on it? I think its just the nature of how the top part slots into the base?

There's a small bit of play alright but if it seems a little excessive go around and check every screw to make sure they're tight (don't forget the ones that are underneath). Sometimes when you tighten one screw it makes one you tightened earlier become a bit loose so you always need to double check with these things.

I'd be interested in this chair. However I don't have a credit card, only 3V. Would I be safe in getting a €50 voucher to pay for this? Don't wanna end up coming up a Euro short or something.

Well it reclines back when you lean into it but as far as I can see you can't lock it in a reclined position. Unless anybody can put me straight on that?

You can prevent it from moving back by shoving the height adjustment lever in when it's upright. You can't lock it in a reclined position though.

    Just an update:
If you try and find this chair through the Viking website (by going to the furniture section, or seaching for it), it's gone up to €49 (instead of 39). They've obviously put the price up a tenner on account of it selling well.

But if you follow the link on page 1, you can still find the chair on their system for €39. I ordered it and got it no questions asked. So anyone thinking of getting it should order asap, before they realise that the 'old price' is still on the system and ordereable.

    Nope. Anywhere in Ireland.

Ordered this yesterday at 11 o'clock and got it at half 10 this morning, put it together in a few minutes. The link posted above still works for the cheaper price. Real nice chair.

EDIT: and they also have free gifts from time to time, I got a box of Thorntons chocolates...

    Cheers OP!

You can spin around literally 20 times with this chair. It starts to slow down and you think it's going to stop, but it doesnt, it just keeps going :)

Worth the asking price alone imo, endless hours of entertainment.

I had a customer there a couple of days ago he's also a mate and i asked him how much he thought i paid for them.....

He thought €200 cause in fairness....
He's a bit thick, but they are a great deal!
