I'm looking to get into writing. Getting something published would be amazing, but not really my end goal. I'd like to do this for fun, and don't really care of the genre, so if anyone wants to read my stuff, share ideas or pretty much anything, leave me a PM.

    Hi,
I would be interested. I am at present researching a book idea, I have some experience but would need to hear what genre you are writing.

It sounds like it could be me, you sound like some one I may be able to work with as well. I am a song writer, enjoy poetry, would be interested in screen play writing but would definitely need to collaborate with some one else. I am mostly into writing non fiction, but have an interest in short stories and the capability of writing a novel with someone else. For all the reasons you stated, I would like to have another writer to work side by side with. Where I would get stuck, someone else can keep the energy going with continuous fresh ideas both ways.

If you would like to get in touch, please leave your e mail address or a phone number so we can chat.

    Many thanks,

    Eileen

    Hiya's
I've been thinking about this and doing the odd bit of writing here and there for the last few years. Nothing special, mostly just for myself.

Anyway, i'm not looking for a super-serious writer, unless you feel like doing a few hours of brainstorming and idea throwing a week?

Am looking primarily to write a couple of short stories, possibly a book or series in the sci-fi-/horror/post apocalyptic genre,

I really dont want to make this sound like a dating agency thing, but..
Age is a factor i would like to rule out, too old isnt a problem, but too young is, i'd preferably like to work on a project with someone over the age of 25, with an interest in zombie movies, mad max, 28 days later type of thing..

I eh, have a lot of time on my hands and will do for the foreseeable future. This doesnt mean i'm constantly writing, just that i have spare time to work on whatever project.
Drop me a pm if this would be of any interest,

    Cheers
    DGN.

im slowly starting to write my first book, i have an imagination that just

doesnt quit, problem is i have too much going on in my head for just one

book. ive been told im good at background stuff along with descriptions

and general story telling. only problem seems to be my dialogue. i love

scifi, horror, fantasy and all related areas. the one im starting would be

more for teenagers i guess but thats only because its been in my head for

so long. writers i love include stephen king, sergei lukyanenko, j.k. rowling

and stephanie meyers (i thoroughly dislike her over play on emotions and

soppyness but i do love the general plot of her stories). if anyone is

interested in this kind of work or would like to collaborate on a short story,

within any of these areas please pm me

I'm looking for not so much a writing partner as someone to read a manuscript in exchange for me reading theirs, if anyone else is in the same boat...

Hi Burial, I've been here a few times looking for a writing partner, but at the moment I'm just going ahead on my own. If you are looking for someone to read some stuff you've written, I'll certainly take a look and offer you as much constructive criticism as i can...

Pickarooney, if you haven't yet found someone to read your manuscript, I'll gladly do it, but my own script isn't ready to be read yet...

I must have missed this when you posted it. If the offer still stands, PM me and I'll lob over a couple of chapters and if you have anything ready to read, send it on.

    Hey there,

I'm a stage/screen writer. Always tapping away at a piece - unless I'm in the midst of a production - then it's just annoying trying to get some work done!

You have expressed my sentiments exactly! Been looking for a writing partner for the last two years and out of the few writing friends I have, I've yet to find one that I could collaborate with with ease - writing is a pretty selfish programme for the most part!!!

Perhaps this would be a pretty novel premise for a script in itself...but I'd be interested to know what you're into - style, genre etc... Or maybe even a writer who you could compare yourself to!

    Best,

    -Fish Fingers

Am on eMail and Skype. Thanks for reading.:D

    Hello,

Rather than looking for someone to collaborate with on a project, I'm thinking it might be a good idea for two people to exchange work and criticism. You read mine and offer suggestions, and I'll do the same for you.

I'm more interested in working with prose than poetry, and at the moment I am mainly interested in writing horror. I write a few days a week but have a fairly low output, especially recently - maybe 2000 words. I'm reasonably good with grammar/punctuation and I am relatively new to writing (on and off for around 3 years). I think it would be most rewarding and tenable to work with someone who is at least in their early twenties, has similar experience, output and interest.

If you are interested, send me a p.m.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I would be interested in having a creative writing partner. Just a few questions in regards to that though: What exactly does a creative writing partner do? Is this a motivational thing? Or writing back and forth? Or starting a project together?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 143 ✭✭Orion101

Could be any or all three.

Hey, I'm interested in screenwriting myself (and a beginner too) but I'd also love to work on something in this genre regardless of the format. To be honest, Tolkien and Anne Rice would be more my preference rather than JK Rowling and Stephanie Meyer. Still though, I believe I have a clear perspective on what I like and what works. My long term aim would be to make progress on my own ideas and collaborate on new projects too. My email is takashimiike@gmail.com. If you want to discuss further I would be more than happy to hear from you.

FYI, I'm a 27 year old male in the Dublin area.

I am very interested in finding a writing partner to work on screenplays in the Dublin area. I'm a 27 year old male and love film of all kinds. I've only written a handful of scenes for a drama/comedy I'm working on sporadically, as I work full-time in an unrelated field. It's hard to find the time but I have found writing with someone else in the past makes it a much more productive experience. Also I've found writing with someone else helps motivate both parties.

As abstract as it may sound, I have a clear perspective on what I like and what works in a scene. My aim is to make progress on my own story and collaborate on new projects too.

I hope to hear back from you if are like-minded person and interested in exploring ideas which could be mutually beneficial.

Anyone still interested in this? I am 50yr old male based in north writing a novel about people from either side and their eventual, unintentional, and dangerous interaction during the troubles.... Only at ideas stage now; anything I've ever written in the past has been factually based, not fiction. I need a female perspective on sopme aspects of it so a female writer might be good.

I have a very basic grasp of Irish from school, and yet I write a bit of poetry sa sean teanga. However, I need an editor to correct grammer and spellings and tenses while keeping the rhyme intact.

All will be credited on the pieces they work on wherever published.

Reiltin Nic Carthaigh Duill done a few for me, but it was too expensive for me, so for the love of arts and the ault tongue, any takers to do one or two for free? Its a recession and all...

    How you all doing.
New to replying on this site, but have been reading the Creative Writing Section for a good while now with interest, and was wondering if anything has ever come from partnering up?
As it is... I am looking for a partner myself.
I have drafted, finished, and have many ideas for any number of screenplays, but as it isnt really my field of work, I was looking for someone to jump on board and sail the ship with me.
I like to consider myself a semi-professional writer, as I have sold works, and I do have an agent representing me, but that is in a different feild of writing completely, and is seperate to what I am looking for today.
I am looking for someone wishing to write quality screenplays, who preferably has experience, and knows what they are doing. What with my other writing, and the constant breathing of my agent down my neck, I sometimes find it difficult to motivate myself to concentrate more time on my screenplays, and I am looking for someone to push, motivate and kick my arse when I am not pulling my weight. But someone who can also carry the writing forward, from our original ideas, as and when I might be tied into other projects for short periods of time.
I hope I am not asking too much.
And can I just say what a great site this is..... its great to read the minds, musings and misdemeanors of fellow writers in the country.

    Write, write until its right.
    Edit till you ged'it!!
