I don't know if it's applicable, but I'm doing a masters at the present time in Mechanical Engineering. I had a 2.2, and initially at the start of the program I was doing a post-graduate diploma, essentially, one step away from Masters level. I attained the required average in the first semester's results and was inducted to the full Masters program. Basically, this may be the case elsewhere, but it may not. THOUGHT I'D OPINE YA KNOW.

Its terrible the stress of thinking you mite not get to do your masters/job. I really dont think dcu realise the torture they put us through!!
    Who's to say a 2.2 wont get you in?[/quote]

U wouldnt have a hope in hell with a 2.2 this year imo. Maybe last year and the years before that but masters applications are up 50% ( read in the business section of the independent dont have a link to it) due to lack of jobs and there is only a limited number of places.

If demand is low for the course then I don't see why he wouldn't
have a better chance of getting in with a 2.2.

Probably because his 3 year training contract stipulates that a minimum of a 2.1 is required.

When I graduated from my undergrad in 2005, I had a job offer with a fairly well established financial services international company which was dependent on a 2:1. Spent ages fretting about the result of my exams but when I got them, got the required mark so no problem on that front.

Anyway, I was never asked for my results - not once, nor did any of my colleagues who came in on the same grad programme, and was never asked for a transcript of the results either.

Aha! Right you are... It also loads when you navigate from the main site. It's just that one button, "My Portal" in your portal.
