becuz it asks 4 both, you dont have to show correct or incorrect.
my teacher is one of people who check marking is correct, and she said you get all marks if you just left the two answers

so is the answer 0.37 and -1.37 correct?

RE Geography predictions: I think Coastal erosion/depostion came up as Q2 on the long qs last year (2008) so is unlikely to reappear as a long q this year - but you never know!

does anyone know what exactly a 'section' is?
i wrote about the first chapter in 'of mice and men'
    is that right?

Yeah I'd say so - I was writing about Pride and Prejudice so I wrote about 3 events over like 4/5 chapters, but they really just make up the 'climax' of the novel, which I suppose is a section.

Okay, so I have checked of all of the themes that have come up in both the pros and filiocht sections.

In the pros (drama) section gra, bron, fearg, uaignes, ead and eagla all seem to be popular themes. For anyone who studied "Dunmharu ar an Dart" like me, the themes seem to be pretty easy to answer on. :)

In the filiocht (poetry) section gra, teaglach, dulra/nadur, ainmhi, ead, uaigneas and greann are pretty repetitive throughout the past exams. Poems like Bean Paidin, fear lasta lampai, duilleoga ar an life, mac eile ag imeacht and an gabhar sa scoil should be okay to answer on :)

lol anyways both questions are only worth 15 marks each so even just by writing the name of the author/ poet and the name of the story/poem you'll pretty much have 2marks already in the bag xD

good luck everyone! hope you all did well in paper 1 today

I answered on to kill a mocking bird for that question and i just talked about the last section of the book with tthe death of tom robinson and bob ewell and the contrast between both good and evil when boo radley kills bob ewell.
What you've written about sounds grand too, as long as the section plays an important part in the story you'll do fine!

lol i thought the paper was grand though xD Loved the personal writing in paper 1!

In the sets question I forgot to add the 5 who did not like any. I understand I'll lose a mark or two in the drawing but I was wondering if I went on and conpleted the question using the figures from part 1,will I be penalized in each part 1 can you just be penalized once

Well can anyone shed some light on this?

Haven't seen the paper but usual routine in marking is to lose mark in part (i) and accept that answer from part (i) in part (ii) so full marks in part (ii) possible

I think I might have done the same in the equation now that I think about it... It'll probably be a slip (-1 mark)

This would probably be counted as a slip (-1mark) or possibly a blunder (-3).

Looking at 2007 sets q, you may be penalised with a slip on the diagram, and the sum after too, but that's only -2 marks so you will still get most of them!

The pool question in maths killed me, I haven't seen anything like that come up in recent papers and I didn't know if x was time or a percentage or what. AND there was no interest/tax type question. I actually completely got the ratio thing in part c though. The Irish questions were fairly piss, cuid d of the listening and the essay choices weren't the best though.

    I was the exact same.
Have never seen a question like that before! I literally just wrote anything I could so i could get attempt marks at least :P
I hope they'll go easy on us for paper two..but judging from past papers it'll be tough D:

    oh well...

that has got to be the easiest maths paper 1 since they started doing this test in 2003. i mean it was simple. Irish was pretty easy as well. Could be looking at 3 As! Fingers crossed.

I know what you mean,so far every paper has been below the standard of other years. Must say,I've been delighted with every paper so far. And also don't forget, the 3 we have done are said to be the hardest

We'll see about P II in Irish tomorrow. If its as easy as Paper One then its obvious that the exameners wanted not to put too much pressure and stress on the students because of the recession :pac:

I hateeeed the Irish, I really should have done ordinary level! :/

If someone had to take the pass paper then they probably wouldn't even be able to get that!

Yeah. For short Qs there'll be "tick the box" questions... with only one box.
