what was the answers to that short question about when a factory won't move even when people reccomend it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 177 ✭✭Dub973

i got 84 in maths in my mocks
to say im gaggin for an A is an understatement, so i reaaaly have to try and study it this weekend
best advice for paper 2 is ...
    1. Learn your rules, e.g opposite sides in parallelogram are equal
    2. Learn theorems ..im predicting diagonal of a parallelogram and equilateral
    3. Practice constructions, will most likely be circumcircle!!
    any other advice?

I think that paper 2 is way easier than paper 1. I beleive if you know your theroms, construction and formulas it is easy to score full marks in paper 2

I Aced geography today. The short questions were harder than I expected but I did grand. I put down the Danube for the river for some reason.

Irish paper 2 was so good! I think I'll get a C or a D in Irish now (great aslong as I pass it).

For the earthquake question I put down the something like "On the Pacific Ring of Fire eg. Japan." The question was badly phrased. I can't remember that valley in America near San Francisco.

My mind went blank for that question but I'm sure when plates collide it's a fold mountain so an earthquake is plates sliding past each other...Hang on, WHERE? I just said San Francisco.

Another question, in the OS Map question, the last part about Wicklow, I wasn't sure what it was asking. I just put down that case study about it starting as a defense settlement with the normans, then a port with the vikings and the a residential settlement today. Not bothered if it's wrong, the geographic mix was fairly short so I got 4 questions done.

Or they are pulling us into a false sense of security, to prepare for their ultra difficult CSPE exam....
    lol
Imagine actually studying for cspe :s

In first year summer tests a guy in my class, when presented with a picture of Bertie Ahern and Who is this? wrote Gay Byrne.
He also thought Mary Harney was Margaret Thatcher!

I said Japan, I don't think it was referring to how they occured but where... like an example. the next question dealt with that!

I think I did really well in that... was the river mentioned in the short Qs the Rhine???

I think it was relating to the sea, close to fresh water etc. or was that the question you were on about?

I can't believe the mistake i made in Irish paper 2!!! When i looked at the letter i thought it was that you were at the Gaeltacht and you were writing it from there! So i did it in the present tense!! God!! I did the last part about the interesting event in the past tense so does anyone know how many marks i might lose?:mad::mad::mad::mad:

To be honest, you could lose quite a few, they always penalise quite heavily for not writing on the right topic even if you were along the right lines.

I said it was a bridging point of a river (which I'm not sure it is) so trading took place at that point and so the town developed, I don't know really. I'd lost interest at that point

English Paper 1: Thought it was fine, loved that the motivational speech thing came up. Reading comprehension was a bit odd but turned out ok

English Paper 2: Oh dear. I was too slow on the drama (I did Private peaceful, wish I hadn't) It was a good answer but cost me big time on timing. I loved the studied drama one. Poetry was great. Fiction was a nightmare. The comprehension was disjointed and too short. I had never covered how the theme 'developed' so that threw me off.

Maths Paper 1: What a dream. I was so happy doing that paper because normally I suck at maths and I was going through it and i was like I can do that and that and that. Pool question was hard. Got the expression but didn't get the bit after that. I thought it was a bit unkind of them to put pythagoras on it because thats usually on paper 2. I knew it so it was ok, but my friend was not happy with it.

Irish Paper 1: It was fine, the storm thing was a bit mean of them because theres never usually anything like that. The comhra was really nice and so was the reading.

Irish Paper 2: Fantastic. I thought I was going to blow this one completely because my teacher seemed to...forget to teach us this year. We did a christmas play for 3 weeks and we spent a lot of time at hockey matches. She was an idiot basically. All my themes came up and the letter was nice too. Giotai gearra were hard.

Geography: I don't really do geography...I just do french or science at the back because my teacher hates us and doesn't care. I thought it was easy, but it did require a lot of actually knowing stuff. Usually its common sense and waffle.

omg I can't believe it. I wrote from the gaeltacht. Why would you write to someone about something you did last summer. that doesn't make sense.

    Anyone got answers for Geography?
Looking at the paper now, can't believe the stupid mistakes l made without even thinking! Said that fish were non-renewable :eek: What was l thinking??

l started the thing about the gaeltacht with 'l hear you're going to the gaeltacht this year, l went last summer...', etc. Think that was the idea.

What, really? I did it all in the past tense anyway! :D Not because I understood the question but it's the only tense I can write in. Yippeee!!!!!!!

I didn't do that q but I think you would have had to base it on the map, like it was there because of three reasons, eg
    The sea, for trade
If it was low land (can't remember) then maybe for agricultural reasons.
If it was the lowest bridging point .. etc etc.

I'd say the case studying isn't right as they specifically asked about Wicklow. Sorry :(

Ahh right I'd say your right. I'm not too bothered, that was an extra question I managed to squeeze in. The geographical mix was short. I did well in everything else. Still think I aced it (and thank God I didn't rely on the OS map like I did in the mock).

For the irish letter, if you wrote it in present and your standard of irish was ok how many marks would you lose.

I'd say a good bit, Expect 10/30 at worst.

I did the same but wrote it in past tense, I also said what I did last week as In I was there last week, wrote nothing about what we were gonna do etc so hoping the examiner will be kind.

Stupidly and Ironically I also wrote after how are you etc in the introduction that I just finished my JC and Im hoping I got a B in maths and maybe a B or A in irish.....
Hopefully the examiner will be impressed by the cheeky request for a B....
    Probably not
