    I dunno about obscure, but what is lovely (and always gets a good reaction) is doing a whole chicken on a bbq by shoving a half full can of beer up its hole and doing a dry rub on the outside of the skin (Paprika, cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, then rub it with a lime)
    Put two holes in the side of the can about half way up (obviously drinking half it can be good) make sure to take the ring pull off, put it up the chicken and put on bbq for about 45 minutes.

    The end result is delicious, most succulent chicken that you have ever tasted.

    Can't remember the name of the place but a few people have told me of a butcher in Terenure/Tempelogue that sells all sorts of crazy meats.
    Kangaroo and all sorts of mad stuff. Maybe someone on here knows of the place?

    Cook the entire BBQ on the BBQ... IE put nothing on the grill then when people arrive tell them how creatived you have been. They will defo love you for that and you are bound to multiply your friends by 10!!!!
