I did that course too, no defibrillator think you need to do an advanced course to use one, learn to do CPR though.

    still it should be good:)

I think that i will be doing that aswell next year, will i be trained to use a defibulator?

I will depend a lot on the the programme developed for the schools. The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (or appropriately acronymed PHECC) has developed a new curriculum that standardises the training nationwide. This is now a FETAC qualification. If they do the FETAC programme then it is most likely you will.

I finished my full recert today and it included defib training. It comes under the Basic Life Support (BLS) training. Previously the defib training was an additional course that you had to attend after completing the CPR course.

If you add Oxygen Therapy then you have the skills to really give someone the best chance for survival.

well my school owns a defibulator so i could be trained on using it,i dont know ,but First Aid is something ied love to have:) espically while out playing airsoft or even out in the public turafair.

Wouldnt work. You have to be in VF (Ventricular Fibrillation) to be shocked so both "fighters" would already be unconcious and basically dead.

Would be funny though and you would already have the tools to try to bring them back.

If you get a chance to get a First Aid qualification then do it. I have used it on more than one occasion. Who knows, you might even get to save a life.

Well theres 10 levels of first aid training. I was only trained to level 1. My school wasn't interested in do any of the higher levels (I asked).
I would highly advise doing it. Although I have never needed to do anything like save a life, it has proven very helpful to me (and others) in the past.

Well thats the system that the Order of Malta use anyway.

As for the school student learning to drive thing. I think it would be a waste of time. Because for most people it'll be awhile before they can afford a car and insurance for the car. So they just wasted two or so years of their licence for nothing. Also no school would do it because insurance is too expensive. School's might do it in America, but thats because over there insurance costs nothing to what it is over here.

A friend of mine paid $550 for his car (ford escort I think) and that also covered insurance.

my school used to do. It was more of a driving lesson on a course (around cones) then a "proper driving lesson"

Serious? I wouldent mind doing one of those courses.i just think its something that should be done like the First Aid course.
I mean like i am only a youngfella and it would intreast me to be booting down residential roads,if i ever hit a child or an adult or even a dog that alone would just mentally kill me,if you brought this thing in it would encourge safer driving.

P.S on behalf of every non Man U supporter :DHA HA HA:D

I deny that the lolocaust happened, is happening or ever will happen.

Further more I say it is a hoax perpetrated for the self-agrandizement of lol's.

I can prove this through the use of carefully pruned statistics, deliberate deception and willing ignorance of the evidence.

Let us speak no further on this matter.

Seems to be alot of " DELETED POSTS" happening around here for "ABSOLUTELY NO REASON OR EXPLANATION"

Maybe if we "CHECK OUR BLOODY PMS" we can get some explanations.

goes to show the way we get riped off in ireland when it comes to insurance.

I was with Quinn Direct and had (and still have) a 2 years no claims bonus. Last september i canceled my policy and shagged off abroad for 7 months. Yesterday i rang them up for a quote ON THE SAME VEHICLE WITH THE SAME POLICY AND STILL 2 YEARS NCB. How much? €1562.60.....third party fire and theift (im on a provo btw). Last years policy was €681. How in the name of fu(k did the operator justify this +/- %250 price hike? Increased insurance rates.
When the hell did the insurance companys all get together and decided to put a %250 hike on? And why is it only effecting me? WHY GOD WHY!!!

Long story short, there goes my mobility for the next few months :(

I agree, there has been a big increase in the number of posts deleted for absolutely no reason, we either have a post gremlin coming in after dark or a Nazi dictator...

Just checked back and I see my post was edit by the master, now it makes no difference where the post came from, but it is publically accessible material.

There more outragous things posted in this thread without anyone batting an eyelid., I can only come to the conclusion that it was removed for personal reasons as aposed to being in breach of the forum rules,. This doesn't only apply to this thread but across the forum. Why are perfectly legitimate posts being removed without any explanation? Leaving subsequent posts showing yet out of context since the first has been removed.
