    Best: Jason Byrne.
He came to Belfast to launch the opening of the student radio station there, QR. Mad night of Jason doing red after shock shots and humping a giant 'Q' shaped balloon. On stage :)

Best - Dara o'Briain, Dylan Moran.

    Worst, in no particular order...

Des Bishop - So unfunny it's not funny.
Tommy Tiernan - He just goes on a bit TOO much, and gives me a headache to be honest.
Brendan O'Carroll - about as funny as polio.

Have'nt heard much of Karl Spain's material, but he's the image of one of wife's friends (not sure who this is worse for, him or my wife's friend!), so I don't like looking at him!

Likes: Andrew Maxwell & Dara O'Brian. Dylan Moran is incredibly funny but I get the impression he is like that naturally. Neal Delawhatsit is very funny too but i hate the 'im a culchie, the problem with Dublin is.......' type of jokes.

Dislikes: Tommy tiernan, tommy tiernan & oh yeah, tommy tiernan. Bar him for shouting for 5 mins on stage and see how funny he really is.

I get the impression most Des Bishops fans are women, cos I don't know any blokes who like him all that much. I never thought he was that funny either, except one time he explained how 'travellers' (you know who i mean) always look shifty and never look at you for long, always looking around and yet seem to keep eye contact even when they don't look at you. very good............

    Best - Dara O'Brian, Dylan Moran -

I'm tempted to put in Ed Byrne and Jimmy Carr, Ed because he does have his moments and plays well with Dara. Jimmy because he is a master etymologist.

If we can have comedians with Irish parents Frankie Boyle has to win a vote for at least one if not two notorious moments on MTW.

Worst - Tommy Tiernan. Maybe he's missing a gene and thinks he can get away with it. the rest of the time he just comes across as a bitter 'king culchie.

Best of the dead - Dave Allen

    Worst:

Brendan O'Carroll - one trick pony who was funny once - years ago. Has milked a good idea to death. Stop it now. Please.

David McSavage - is nuts. And not in a good way.

    Best:

    Dara O'Brioin - just magnificent.

Nope. Any comedian that has to laugh frantically at the end of his own punchline is desperate.

Worst Irish 'comedians' ever? Jimieoin, Ardal O' Hanlon, Deirdre Kane and the shouty guy in Temple Bar who was the emergency guest on the Late Late Show for a couple of years...I can't remember his name for a reason, and the reason is he's about as funny as a terminally ill baby...on fire.

I used to love Des Bishop, I've seen him live 3 times and his shows are funny, but when u start to hear the same material again and again on tv shows and such it starts to get a bit boring!
Used to like Tommy Tiernan too, seen him live once and sometimes he went a bit TOO far... He was definately better in his earlier years!
Neil Delamar is well funny, Dara O'Briens okay sometimes :)

For me I have to say Dara O'Briain is one of the funniest going, very quick, and a great physical comedian as well.Toomy Tiernan is good, but the last couple of times I've seen him on the Late Late, and the last couple of times he's been on with Ray D'Arcy,he's just been trying to be controversial for the sake of it,coming out with total ****e,just because he is who he is.
Ian Coppinger is very good, seen him a few times, very good indeed.

    Now the bad.
Des Bishop is quite possibly the worst comedian I've ever seen, him and his even unfunnier brother.Would it be possible to sue Des Bishop under the Trades Description Act,he's not a comedian, not funny, therefore he's using false advertising to get people to his shows. He's painful to listen to.When I was younger,I was riding my bike, and my foor slipped off the pedal, and my nuts slammed onto the frame of the bike, the pain was unbearable,I felt sick, was convinced I'd lost my nuts, but I'd rather go through that every day than have to hear him again, even his radio ads for his gigs send me into a mad rage.

And as for David McSavage.....................don't get me started on him;)

Jimmy Carr hands down (Even though not "technically Irish" but Limerick born) Went to see him twice and did not stop laughing throughout the whole show. The way he handled the hecklers with witty, quick comebacks was just brillant as well.
Came home from one of his shows and he was on the late late the same night and he made an unforgettable appearance. I posted it before but here it is anyway.

best: dylan moran, altough, very few of his shows have surpassed monster.

honrable mention: nial delamare, always reminds of the sneery guy that sits at the back of your class in school, giving cheek to everyone. saw him live in college and totaly spent the whole set slaggng off people in the audiance in a really witty way!

worst: pj gallagher. awful, pointless humor. 30 mins telling a joke about sombody having diaria wasnt that funny.

dishonrable mention: aiden bishop. hes exatly the same as des, same jokes and all. des isnt that good (i like his documentarys and things, and hes good when interviewed, but his shows arent that great), but seriously, saw aiden at electric picnic and his jokes were pretty much the same as des's.

Yes: Jason Byrne - his live show is hilarious, you're in pain from laughing so much afterwards.

Neil Delamere - didn't like him on the Panel but seen him live twice this year and he was brilliant.

David O'Doherty - definitely one of my favourites, this man is a legend.

Andrew Stanley - his comedy mish mash in the International on a Tuesday is always a good night

Fred Cooke - Nut. Case. So funny.

Dead Cat Bounce - Love love love love LOVE these guys. If anyone's at the Fringe in Edinburgh at the mo, go see them!!!

Jarlath Regan - Very good live

    No:

Dave McSavage - not into him.

    Tommy Tiernan - dated.
