My goal is to get the weight down so that I can exercise more comfortably

Well let's see, I have a crap load more weight than you to lose, and I can exercise quite comfortably, so as far as I'm concerned, that's a really stupid comment. Newsflash, exercise isn't supposed to be easy.
Suffice to say I think this is a great opportunity to recover physically and I think anyone who tries to do such should be respected, supported and applauded.

Meh, I have no more respect for someone on lipotrim than someone getting liposuction. Whereas I have great respect for someone who doesn't make lame excuses and works their ass off in the gym.

1st time posting here and I was actually planning for a while to do Lipotrim and had actually intended on staring Tuesday because I 've had a shocking week where I've lost my job and girlfriend and now my self confidence is at an all time low.....

I'm 6.1 and 18 Stone which is not fun at all and it is just through laziness..... I used to be extremely active and play an unreal amount of sport and train everynight and now I couldnt even walk to the shop i'd say. I've had a gym membership for the last 2 months and seriously i have put on weight but that is just through a lack of cardio i presume because i am going 3 times a week and i guess I'm just overfocused on weights which is obviouly doing me no favoursat all.

Going to be unemployed from Monday so going to try to start preparing food properly and training more. I just need exercise that is low impact because i cant run any more with shin splints.

The more i actually write this the more depressed I get and just want a quick fix of lipotrim to kick start me but the thought of the embarrassment of actually losing all that weight and drawing attention to myself is bad and it would be even worse if I put it all back on. I actaully know of a guy on our rugby team who lost 5 stone doing lipotrim but he put it all back on over the course of the season and I really dont want to be that guy.

At the end of all that the question is how can i motivate myself and actually keep it up?

They are, the people here are trying to support them too by advising against this approach.
I don't think LT is a miracle programme either but an effective kickstart for people in my position.
I still regard it as a setback. For me the entire process around my fatloss has been about raising my metabolism. I know I have to stick to a diet for life, mine is not that great as I drink a lot, I would not change it much, so something had to change -my metabolism. Now I eat and drink what I pretty much want due to my raised metabolism (from exercise and a little added muscle from weights). ANY diet at all of a mere 425-500kcal is going to slow your metabolism, this is not just lipotrim "bashing".

hmmm, I have more admiration of the lipotrim guys. Lipotrim has got to be very hard to do, surviving on that tiny amount of food. An analogy would be weight training, the liposuction guys are the ones who get ab or pec implants like Peter Andre, quick easy fix for cash with no dedication needed. The lipotrimers are the guys who go to the gym all day and might work very hard, but are only doing bicep curls. Most members here will say well done for getting to the gym and trying to do something, but you are going about it the wrong way and would advise against endless curls. Just like they advise against lipotrim, many have been down a similar road before and do not want to see others wasting their time like they did.

    Hi Yummybud...
I'm really sorry to hear you're feeling so down and can empathise with you. But actually writing things down like here or in a diary is a great way to release the feelings and work out solutions.
Keep your spirits up! Things look awful now but they will get better with time. Take this opportunity to get other things sorted in your life. Best of luck with whichever course of action you choose;)

Any advice you or others have on effective gym work would be great as I've no confidence when i go there and feel very embarressed so don't ask questions etc.
At the moment I just go walking an hour per day with my dog. I suffer with asthma which makes exercise far more uncomfortable when I'm so overweight. I hope losing the weight and moderate exercise (like walking, initially) will improve my breathing and make exercise more comfortable long term etc.

I dislike the comparison with people who get cosmetic surgery and possibly don't really care about their health. I do care about my health and am doing my best to make the changes necessary for my future well-being. I think this is deserving of respect and I found Magicmarker's comments personally offensive.

You're not doing what's best for yourself, you're doing what's easiest for yourself imho.

    Nice username though.

Seriously, it's the internet. Lighten up and stop acting like everyone here owes you respect.

You've come on and told us you're gonna do lipotrim, what the majority here see as beign the easy way out, and unsustainable. Did you really expect to be high5'd for it??

Seriously, if you want to actually do the best thing for your long term health, then lipotrim is NOT the way to go.

I am doing what's best for myself. You don't know me or my situation. I am taking action as I believe best.
It is not simply a case of getting a quick fix and not taking care of myself. I have a balanced approach and am getting healthier in all areas of my life at the same time as kickstarting the weight loss. I have to do this quickly for health reasons so I haven't much choice:mad:
I wish I had more time than I do as I would defo be less worried about what's happening to me.

I don't want to think about that right now as I need to lose it to improve my chances of recovery from serious illness that I don't want to go into on this forum.

Well I've just weighed in after my first week and am down 7 1/2lbs. Delighted!! If people are so against the product why are you even on this thread?? Why do you care?? By all means have an opinion but it is a personal choice to do the lipotrim programme and I can assure you although it is a fast fix, it is by no means an easy fix. Surely this forum would be better used to discuss the programme and support those on it. Like I said before, I lost 2 stone on it last year and have kept it off by eating a lot more sensibly since. I don't regret it for a minute and think it was one of the best decisions I made for me.:)

I am starting Lipotrim tomorrow after a very informed and serious consultation with my pharmacist.
I don't want to think about that right now as I need to lose it to improve my chances of recovery from serious illness that I don't want to go into on this forum.
I hope you went to your doctor and not just got advice from a shopkeeper who's main aim is to make a profit.
    enrybo wrote: »

Because they do care.... Many people care about the health and welfare of fellow human beings, is that so hard to understand. Do you think people have some ulterior motive to dissuade people from using it?
    enrybo wrote: »

This thread really belongs in the Diet & Nutrition forum, but that forum was not created at the time. Part of the rules in that forum are
    3.
Bear in mind we are not professional nutritionists and we are not doctors, so don't look for medical advice. Please seek advice from your Dr. or a Nutritionist before embarking on any major overhaul of your eating habits.

    4.
There will be zero-tolerance of any pro-ana type topics or crash dieting. If you want to discuss your cabbage and rubber band diet that's alright but don't expect much support (or success for that matter). This forum is to promote healthy and varied eating - not to advise you in how to drop a stone in a week.
So the thread should not even really be allowed, it is still kept going more as a warning about such extreme crash dieting. Boards have strict rules about not discussing medical matters, and any VLCD should really only be prescribed by a doctor.

Most doctors would not be delighted at hearing a patient lost 7.5lb in only a week.

By the way this programme was recommended to me by my GP. I am under the supervision of her and my pharmacist.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,653 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Last time I was this weight (158lb) I had done Lipotrim for 8 weeks and lost about 50lb, no not an exaggeration.

So whats different betwen now and then :-

    Then....

    1) I had piles the size of mandarins due to not having crapped in weeks (my doc said she had never seen them so bad in a patient before)
    2) I felt like as weak as a kitten and dizzy when i stood up, had zero energy or ability to concentrate
    3) If i ate anything It was going straight to fat....
    4) i was soft..zero definition..moobs...

    Now..

    1) No bowel problems
    2) Full of energy, in fact its hard to stand still!!, and the LT mental fog isnt there at all.
    3) I'm gonna have pizza with my beers tonight, and tomorrow it wont matter! (I ran 21k yesterday and 10k today and will do 15k tomorrow) and weights :)..
    4) I got definition slowly appearing.

Did I mention I can eat the hell i like? :D

A doctor recommended it to me also, doesn't mean I have to do it.

People post because they care. Because they're knowledgeable enough to know that diets like these are a bad idea, that they're unsustainable, that they're ultimately not healthy, that they're a quick fix, and the vast vast majority of people who undertake them are going to end up exactly where they started.

We're NOT here as a back slapping crew or rubber stampers. People post asking for an opinion, and one is given. What I don't get is why everyone takes it so personally when they're told it's a bad idea.

Pizza and beers? Wow, you've really stuck rigidly to keeping that weight off, eh? :pac:
Ever ask yourself why you felt weak, had piles, no definition, and couldn't eat anything without it turning to fat? Wouldn't possibly be a combination of little / no exercise along with a rubbish diet, by any chance?

Like Hanley, I don't get how the people who want to do Lipotrim come to a fitness forum when LT spits in the face of fitness. And these people then have the audacity to attack us when we tell them how bad it is? Go to a pro-Lipotrim site if you want to be told how wonderful it it.

C'mon, who is more like to know what the hell they're on about? People who are in shape or people who've let themselves slip into being a shape, namely round?

Lipotrim is a bloody terrible idea, and bar cases where people are too obese to actually exercise, it should not be thrown out willy nilly among the general public, because lets face is - the general public is not known for being the brightest entity in existance.

Whilst you can't out train a bad diet it is nice to know you can pack that pizza away and not feel guilty :)

    Hi everyone

I started the Lipotrim diet last Monday. I originally weighed 13st 7lbs.

The first few days are the hardest, headaches and lack of energy. But I cheated a bit, I had a sandwich on the Monday, a slice of pizza on the tuesday and i know its really bad but a chinese on wed.

Have only had the milkshakes since then. I feel great now. Hungry sometimes but don't feel as bloated and tired as I did before I went on the diet. Have loads of energy as I have to drink 2ltrs of water a day.

    I got weighed in today and I am now 12st 11lbs. I lost 10lbs..

I'm delighted and cant believe I stayed of the food as I was always grazing even if I wasn't hungry.

    hi

well you have to have a lot of will power to do lipotrim.you either want it bad enough or you dont.i did it for 8 weeks.for the first few days you will feel hungry as the sugar is leaving your system.after 4 days your body goes into ketosis and you no longer have cravings for food.so stick with it and the weight will fall off you.
