    Parachuting super-pope.

    Good god.

The only person on earth who I despise more is Pat Kenny. And Pat Kenny makes me want to kill myself.

Let's be constructive about this. How about... Death-match between Dan Brown and Pat Kenny, in an arena containing nothing but relatively harmless household items?

Ah the famous 4x3 extreme cqb arena, we were all looking forward to that so much, what happened, couldn't get the pyro certs?

Well, there was a meeting, and it was discussed. All the mods were there. Stuff was talked about and there were decisions about stuff. The new rules came in and I couldn't do it because it had the word 'extreme' in it.

But we're using microwave popcorn instead and the effect isn't too dissimilar. Word on the street is that it'll get banned too. There's a Recession on, and it's going to affect all of us.

    "Pending Customs Inspection"

Three words, separately they are jokes in irish society, but when combined, put the fear of god into all airsofters and drug smugglers alike!

I may have exaggerated that a bit but you get my point.

And heres some more "too much time on my hands" goodness!

i got to playing about with one of those once... nice toys, expensive though, its about €10,000 per shot

BTW the video is a fake, the javelin wound do that to that tank unless it was made of carboard.

Ive seen video of the IDF doing the same thing with very little in the way of a usable tank left behond. the accuracy of those javelin missiles is shocking. :)

Have you seen the special purpose anti mortar variant?

Saturates an area target with its special load,

    aka. the S.P.A.M. Javelin.

10k a round is the price of training missiles, they make a bang and a nice overpressure mark on their target if they've penetrated. The live missiles, like the one in that video, are about 90k a shot and do something closer to that video. Though there was a lot more blast on that than normal. Either it had some charges inside the target to improve the effectivness of the explosion or the target had been hit a few times with training rounds and was already severely weakened structurally. If that was the case, an undelayed fuse would have caused that much damage and blast.

Jav's are lovely, but I want an AT4 for airsoft. I don't care if it does shag all but sit on my back, I want one.

The magazine in a tank will often go off when struck by a heat shell, and can catapult the turret up in the air, the jav, if penetrated, could have set off the entire battle load of explosive shells, and in a training scenario, that would likely have been replicated with regular explosives, especially if its for a video to show the full likely effect of a hit on a battle ready tank.

javelin is a hype..as much as i favour western weapons, the whole top attack at close range thing(what the javelin is famous for) was achieved by the russians decades ago:p...its just another ATGM, that does the same job as the thing half the price across the sea, and can be jammed quicker than a mobile phone in a subway:rolleyes:

as for the following video i cant stop laughing

I dislike how de-personalised anti-tank warfare has become. Bring back 88's I say.

    I blame social networking sites.

Its all about reaching out and touching people without even making eye contact with them, terrible altogether.

Would anti-tank combat daggers be more to your liking?

Rambo would have a field day

Apparently MySpace has 42 confirmed armour kills thanks to an application you can embed in your page that lets you pilot actual official MySpace Predator combat drones flying overhead, carrying Hellfire missiles.
It would have been a lot higher a figure but it seems there's been a lot of drone-on-drone "friendly" fire from the Bebo UAV's lately...

But for the bebo'ites to have been able to pilot such a device, they would have had to develop a system that could cope with their lack of opposable thumbs?

A sort of shape sorting console, or colourful educational toy interface?

Deadly video. Damn, that girl can sing.

I reckon we should ask someone with Pyro/SFX experience, cough, Paul, cough, if that tank might have been filled with a little petrol/diesel mix... That mini-mushroom cloud looks very familiar.

We need an airsoft 88 for all those WWII teams.

What they lack in opposable thumbs they make up for with prehensile toes, I'm just surprised they could concentrate for long enough to actually score a kill, friendly or otherwise.

jeez lads, you wouldn't make great detectives. lol

if you watch the video closely you will see there is at least 4 liquid tanks on top of it, 2 of which are definitely fuel tanks, the other 2 very likely fuel. One of them even comes towards the camera after the impact. with the kind of heat generated by that impact the fuel would be instantly ignited. you can see from the orangey/redish flames that there is an accelerant at work there. :)

Reports suggest overuse of FPS games have given the Bebo faction a greater than expected competency with electronic warfare systems. However, they still respond to a stern shout of "turn off that bloody computer" from their mums.

So what your saying is, we can expect to see a mum powered anti bebo-drone jamming device on future weapons soon?

Jackal 2 makes its public debut [BBC]

I wasn't far wrong about that Javenin demo then. There's no doubt they work, but the added boom-de-yada was a giveaway.
