Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Italos on the Dunmore Road are great, if you can stand the 20+ minute wait.

Doolys? Didnt know they were homemade. The other chipper on the prom is Massinos(sp) where Beach Grill was.

yeah if your willing to pay about a tenner for about 10 chips on a tray, chippers in tramore are a rob in my opinion, even the burgers ya get are half the size of anywhere else and twice the price

There are only a few that give a small amount of chips but both Tonys and Massinos give a big bag of chips. Their sausages are pretty long and the burgers are also decent. My favourite chipper in Tramore.

My favourite in Waterford at the moment would be the one "Clayboy Takeway" (cant recall the exact name).

Your're right it isn't the fastest of places but if the food is good I'd rather wait than get some fast crap...

for the price youd be payin for em youd want to get a big bag of chips, all the places in tramore still charge tourist prices even when theres no tourists there, tis a rob, majority of chippers in wford way nicer and better value

The prices dont change. The tourism charge has been suggested only for local supermarkets, which hasnt been proven either.

You get the same size bag of chips in Tramore from at least two of the chippers then you do in most of the chippers in town, for similar prices.

You're arguing over chips. CHIPS! Who gives a fcuk if one bag in Tramore is 50c more than another in town. Honestly, who gives a fcuk? It just does not matter.

Why comment on it if you don't give a fcuk. Leave people who are interested in the topic discuss it and go read something else. Chill out:D.

The prices are pretty much the same as the prices in Waterford. Two of Tramores chippers rarely change their prices - its all printed onto their sign and it would be a noticeable change. There is no such thing, in these chippers that I speak of, as "tourist prices". Nonsense. You get a very good quantity - the exact same as in most of the chippers in town (if not more in some).

Anyway, we have gone far to much of topic with this stupid debate about prices and quantity of chips compared between Tramore and Waterford. So lets stick to the topic on comments about City take-aways.

Yes. You are correct. Lovely chips. Lovely long battered sausages (doesn't it make you feel dirty just reading that :p). The chicken is absolutely gorgeous there too. And the curry.

I'd usually go for the snack box there and you they really pack it full of chips. They don't actually close the lid on the box. Just pack it full and shove it in a bag.

The staff are nice and friendly there too. Only thing is it can be really busy at certain times (Friday at 6pm or whatever). But I suppose that's because it's good!

Big fan of the chicken tenders in Tony's there beside the forum but avoid it at all costs if the bingo's just let out cos the queue's are mental.

Dellicata's in Ferrybank used to be the nicest chipper ever before it changed hands and they changed the chips :(

Same way Cunningham's used to be nice before the changeover.

Never been a big fan of Jonnie Walker's and the one time I ate in the Marian I got cheese that was gone off and that has really put me off it... Have heard great things about it though since!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 314 ✭✭Elle Victorine

the explanation shall be in the tasting my friend!

But it's literally a wrap with a burger, cheese, onion and sauce (of course they'll put whatever toppings you like on it and sauce) and my god it's whopper!

It's basically a whole real fillet of chicken in breadcrumbs (not the fake stuff you get from McDonalds) on a bun with salad and mayo. You need a big mouth to take a bite out of it! Quite nice.

It's down at the bottom of the yellow road, right by the traffic lights. The shop that used to be there was also called The Marian. I think the Italian fella who ownd Ballybricken bought it.
