    I think we've all let anger overwhelm us.

    I hate reality television and all it stands for. I hate the likes of Jade Goody who milk the **** out of every ounce of fame that they can. Even listening to her pissed me off..

    But I think we sometimes need to step back, take a deep breath and show a bit of empathy.

    As much as I dislike Jade as a person, I do feel sorry for her. She is only 27, a year older than myself - and has children which she knows will be left without a mother very soon. She's going through an immense ammount of pain right now, and worst still - knowing that her day will come very soon. None of us could imagine how hard it would be to know you only have a few weeks to live, and those that do - would probably be a little more empathetic than some of the posters in this thread.

    Now I guess I'm as guilty as the next guy laughing at Jade's misfortune, but when she found out that it was terminal - the reality sunk in that I'm a cruel bastard and that I shouldn't be gloating at such a horrible situation.

    I hope Jade has a peaceful passing and that she spends her last moments with her family in an aura of unusual happyness and peace.

    people hate her for the following reasons

    A) she is a symbol of something alot of people hate ie reality tv and celebrity for the sake of celebrity

    B) she is a symbol of something alot of people hate, famous chavs

    C) she is stupid

    D) she is ugly and ends up posing like shes 'all that' (not one of my usual phrases but i cant think of another way to say it)

    E (and probably the most relevant here) its cool to hate her just like its cool to hate u2, the goverment, taxi drivers and joe duffy

    its a fair point about her kids though if i had nothing to show for my life and i had kids and was dieing besides being scared ****less of dieing id be scared ****less of my kids fate and would do whatever it took to provide for them but because of her past media whoring its easy for people to think she is doing it for the same self centered reasons as before

    Don't know if this will get me banned or not but I'm glad she's dying. I hate the sight of her. She was scum on the Big Brother normal edition and only information about her background and upbringing changed public opinion of her. She then went on Celebrity Big Brother and reminded everybody of the slime she is. Now she's on everywhere again. Hurry up and die so we can forget all about you. I've better things to be doing than wasting my sympathy on trash like her.

    To be honest I thought the whole cancer thing was another attempt at getting back in people's good books again. She's a racist and a bully....

    I hate this (non-) celeb/media-whore culture as much as the next man but i still feel sorry for her.
    Wishing that a cancer victim would die is reprehensible tbh- no matter what they represent.

    With regards to your first post;
    Firstly, nobody here has the freedom to say what they want.
    This is a privately owned site. It is hosted in Ireland and is subject to Irish internet laws. These laws hold the owners of the site responsible for anything posted here. That's why there are so many moderators.

    Regarding this thread here, it is in the After Hours forum.
    We are a bit more linient here as opposed to most of the other forums on the site.
    Jade Goody has put herself in the public eye, so she is open to criticism from the general public.
    Some of that criticism may be harsh, but we are not here to protect the sensibilities of others in that respect.
    We are also not bebo where people can join some pointless support group and pretend they actually care about someone they will never have any interaction with.
    If you want to show sympathy towards a victim of cancer, then we have quite a few members here who have suffered and are still suffering from this horrible disease.

    If you want to leave messages of sympathy for Jade Goody, then I suggest you use the celebrity forum: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=895

    I have never been a Jade Goody fan. I very rarely watched any of the stuff on Living etc.

    While I dont agree with what she is doing at the moment - with all the media coverage etc, i do understand her reasoning behind it. I do truly believe that it is for her kids.

    My dad is dying of cancer at the moment and to see her face every day in the papers with some story or other is very annoying. I have mixed views, yes people die every day, but when papers chose to print the worst pictures of her then it is the paper at fault, not Jade.

    The girl is dying, I think people need to give her a break.

    It is a sad day when someone has cancer but its the way Jade Goody is going about this is the problem. Ive said this before but it keeps being hit on repeat SHES DOING IT TO LET THE WORLD TO REMEMBER HER AS THIS GREAT HUMAN BEING where in reality she was a racist scum. And dont bring the kids into this, shes a millionaire, it doesnt cost millions to bring up two kids.

    If Jade Goody decides to sign up to this site, then she will be treated a little differently.
    However, when you put yourself in the public eye, you also open yourself up to criticism.

    Also, you cannot see them, but plenty of posts have been deleted from this thread as they were deemed to have been too crass.

    IMHO, moderators should make it clear when they are wearing their moderator's hat and when they are just expressing an option like the rest of us.

    If you have a problem with the moderation of AH please take it to the help desk forum or, for the sake of politeness, to a private message conversation. Any more on thread discussion as to moderating decisions will result in a ban.

    Quite frankly, I hope you get banned as well, you're full of haterd:mad: I agree that she was a bully in the Shipla situation but how the hell can she be racist when she has a father who was black:confused: She was just being 'nasty' in the shipla affair!!

    Point taken dr bollox but wasn't her raciam about the indian of our mankind. I do not agree with her behaviour at the time, and I know for a fact that she regrets it, my heart still goes out to the girl.

    2 kids are going to be without a mother well before they should,and I feel for them.
    Regardless of what I think or feel about Jade I can see that she won't be the one to benefit from all the money she is making regarding her series and mag deals.

    No woman wants even her next door neighbour seeing
    her bald ,unless she is the one who wants that look.
    So again ,my hat is off to her.

    In a little while two small children will be inconsolable because they miss her.
    I am talking about Jade as a mother,not as Jade the reality somebody / nobody, whichever way you see her.

    Those boys love her and will no doubt have sad times ahead of them, and hopefully will have people on hand to help them.

    I can only say that if it were me , I would want to make it up to my kids in some way( if I could not be there for them)through something that was not my fault.
    And making sure they are financially looked after is as good a way as any.
    Anyway, I wish her a peaceful death, because in years to come ,no matter what relatives say about how she died ,her sons would only have to click on the Internet to find out whether she died in pain or not.
    And most likely find it more painful when they realise what people said about the mother they loved.

    I think theres nahin wrong with what shes doing. People are interested in her life and are gonna wanna know whats happening, better for her to go out and do what she wants, get photographed, than stay in and wallow in self pity. Hide away and die in privacy, naaah she is currently living, when the sad time comes i doubt she'll want that broadcasted for her sons to watch in the future.
    She might aswell get a few snoops out of a terrible situation
    It's so sad :(

    It's sad to hear that anyone has cancer and dies but it will be sadder for me if I now have to flick past reruns of her at her former best just because she died. It seems cold but I've no time for her.

    Unfortunately this crap will sell magazines anyway because idiots buy them and there's a lot of them around. Hopefully this recession will knock some sense into them...
