When I tried to add a new beneficiary with BOI online with the new SWIFT/BIC I get a message saying the new details (WIREDEMM) are invalid? Anybody out there get past this? Help!

"The details you have entered in the Swift Address (BIC) field are invalid." I get this with WIREDEMM and WIREDEMMXXX

That was the situation with AIB for a few days and then my guess is that their BIC directory was updated and at that stage the new BIC was accepted. Probably a similar process occurs at BOI even though, in either case, you'd have imagined that their update processes would be much more effective at avoiding any such gap in transfer abilities!!

NB: The transfer I did a few days ago (through AIB internet) was lodged successfully to Wirecard as usual in 3 days.

Crikey are you serious? I'm after deleting the beneficiary with the old BIC....what a mess!

Hmmm, I just noticed there's now a "Register bank account" page on Wirecard, that wasn't there before as far as I know.. Has anyone used this? I wonder would it be different/easier/faster/slower/just the same as using the AIB international transfer online?

guys I got a question, after you're wirecard user for 2 years and the card expires and if you still want to use it, do you have to register and verify your acc again or you can just extend it?
    anyone knows how's with it?

They finally got their act together and sent out an email about the BIC situation

    Finally they tell us :)
    Dear ***********,

We wish to inform you that the Wirecard Bank during the period of 6
December 2008 until 12 January 2009 will be updating its International
Banking details, to be more specific the BIC code. For all your future
payments via bank transfer, it is therefore important to use our new BIC
    code.

The new BIC code for Wirecard Bank AG is now WIREDEMM.

    >From every bank account that is connected to the Wirecard account
holder, which is located in the European Economic Area, it is possible
to simply deposit funds using the IBAN number and new BIC code to
complete transfer of funds to a Wirecard account.

To complete such a deposit successfully, instruct your bank to initiate
the transfer type "SEPA Standard Transfer" and enter details of the
recipient's personal Wirecard account, the IBAN account number and the
    new BIC code.

Your exact personal Wirecard account information is as follows:

    IBAN account: **********
    BIC code: WIREDEMM
    Recipient: *************

Please note that we only accept transfers, where the sender name is
identical with the Wirecard account holder name, the recipient.

We recommend to review your Wirecard account information at
www.mywirecard.com under the tab "My profile".

For questions about your Wirecard online account, please contact our
    service team at service@wirecard.com, or call +49 (0) 180 5 94 73 22 (14
cents per min. / via Deutsche Telekom).

We hope you continue to enjoy Wirecard!

    Your Wirecard team

    I'd like to know something
I have this written under my account:
Your Wirecard account can not be used for direct debit.
    what does it exactly mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,906 ✭✭✭✭Esel
    Not Your Ornery Onager

Direct Debit is where you authorise a third party to withdraw funds (in an amount specified by them) from your account on a regular basis. It is often used on a regular bank account to pay utility charges (for example: phone, electricity, gas etc.)

    Not your ornery onager

    hi, does anyone know?

I signed up for a wirecard acc and filled in all details correctly including mobile phone number but 24 hours later i still didn't receive an activation code - i clicked on the message that tells you to click when this happens and still no code. Also sent an email but no response...Is this normal or is there a special way to enter an 087 number?
    ta

I tried making a transfer on Monday with BOI using the old SWIFT code. Does anybody know what happens if it doesn't work? Does the money simply get returned to your BOI account? Or do you get a call from BOI or email from Wirecard or something?

edit:: to answer my own post the transaction went through fine with the old SWIFT/BIC. Only two days too!! Very quick from them.

I can't answer your question but I have Ulster Bank online banking and I can't find a way to send an international payment to Wirecard. Did you call into a bank in person to do it or do it online? If online then how? Cheers.
