Don't know about BOI, but with AIB I simply transfer funds to the Wirecard's IBAN and BIC and include my Wirecard account number and my telephone number as comments. This has been working for me for more than a year and I haven't had a single problem with them.

    Good luck.

    Have these guys gone bust?

Am not getting any replies to emails to them and their phone number seems dead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 irishwizz

It does take them a bit of time to answer emails.
And their phone number no longer works in Ireland as it seems to be a international premium rate number and is barred by the Irish phone companies

I was locked out of my account on one occasion and they would not answer my emails. I went into SecondLife and the rep there sorted me out so why not give that a go?

    hi everyone!

I just registered here, cause I also got wirecard account a few days ago and they're already giving me headache..this is my 'problem'

I registered and I didn't register new bank account (why do you have to register that?) and I sent my mom on the bank so she transferred 10€ to acc details I got from wirecard. Well, 3 days later I got their message they can't transfer money to my account since it was transferred under my mom's name and they wrote I can upgrade to plus account where I'll be able to receive and transfer payments from any account. So, I said I would like to do that and they sent me pdf files where I had to send them 2 utility bills, signed 'contract' and photocopy of my ID card. So I sent all this. A week later I got reply from them then they can't change my account to pro and transfer there my 10€, because I need to send CERTIFIED copy of passport, driver licence or ID. I replied to them and said what's going on..I sent them my ID photocopy what else do they want?? then they told me to send passport copy instead so I did that and yesterday again I got this message from them:

Thank you for sending us the documents for the upgrade of your Wirecard
    account to Wirecard plus.

Unfortunately, we cannot yet initiate the upgrade because we still need the

CERTIFIED copy of your passport or, alternatively, a CERTIFIED* copy of your
driver’s license or ID card. Please send the document via postal mail to:

    Wirecard Bank AG
    Wirecard
    Postfach 31 05 44
    04163 Leipzig
    Germany

    * The certification of your ID document should be conducted in accordance with
the attached document “Passport Certification Process”. This document also

contains a list of accepted “certifiers”.

We apologize fr the iconveniences this may cause and thank you for your
    understanding and continued cooperation.

Should you have further questions about the information given above, please
reply directly to this email, including our original text and ticket number.
This will help us to deal with your inquiry much faster.

    Kind regards

    Daniel Rosin

I really don't know what the heck am I doing wrong? I just want to transfer money to my account to be able to buy some things off the net and I'm slowly giving up on wirecard..
    please help

^ Send them what they want - a certified copy of your ID. You can get a certified copy from a Notary Public or a Solicitor (Lawyer).

Like the title says, eh, Wirecard has changed its BIC [from WIREDEM1XXX TO WIREDEMM]

And how do I know this...? I submitted a transfer instruction via AIB Internet last night, only to get a phone msg today from the nice lady at AIB to say that this BIC had expired on Friday, that the transfer had been cancelled and that the bank would need to provide an updated BIC, if available.

A bit of checking on swift.com and a new BIC is, in fact, available.
    Another poke around finds: http://www.wirecardbank.com/ebanking.html

So, nice to see that customer care standards are being kept at the expected levels.

Other than that I've never had a problem with Wirecard. Hopefully that continues. [I've omitted that alarm bells that went off concerning them going out of business, shutting up webshop and cutting the phone lines, taking my money with them!! Yikes!!]

NB: I haven't tested the new BIC yet.

    Cheers to all.

A little email from them would have been nice :)

[NB: note the edit to my previous post to simplify things re dropping the XXX's. Their webpage specifies to use the shortened version. How helpful. heh-heh :D]

I myself was trying for most of today to make a payment to Wirecard without success however AIB now say that the new Swift code was CANCELLED by Wirecard themselves hence I cannot make a payment, anyone with AIb or otherwise been able to make a payment to Wirecard today or since Friday?

Do I understand that you tried WIREDEMM and that it did not work(AIB)?

If so, I might point out (to help confuse matter perhaps), that when Wirecard specified WIREDEM1XXX as their old BIC(and was listed as such on swift.com) that that is what always worked for me with AIB Internet.
Now the wirecardbank.com webpage says they are changing it to WIREDEMM, but swift.com lists the more general WIREDEMMXXX.
[As I understand it the XXX appendage indicates a kind of parent-daughter relationship where one bank can handle transfer for customer/clients banks, eh, or something, don't quote me!! lol]
ANYWAY... perhaps those who used to drop the XXX's should repeat that with the new BIC (now use WIREDEMM) and those (eg AIB?) like me who didn't shouldn't (now use WIREDEMMXXX)??

I will use WIREDEMMXXX and find out how that goes tomorrow with nice AIB lady.

I used WIREDEMMXXX and AIB told me that it was a valid Swift code but then told me it was cancelled by Wirecard themselves.

Also anyone know why they cancelled or suspended their service phone number?

Emm... I just rang 00-49 180 5947322 and got straight through. Might be a issue with your phone service.

As for the new BIC, can I check: did you try the WIREDEMM version first and it failed too?

I am with Imagine for phone service, used to be with Perlico and I always was able to get throu until I went over to Imagine. Who is your phone service with as they keep giving me excuses and I know they have barred the number as it appears to look like a premium rate number.

I did both WIREDEMM with the XXX and without, both failed when done online.

The support line worked fine from a regular Eircom landline. Wirecard list the support line as 14c/min from German landlines so perhaps that means it is a premium rate number though it hasn't been a problem for me.

Also, the support girlie apologised that the new BIC wasn't listed yet on the website but that WIREDEMM is the correct new one to use. So... maybe it's the AIB end that has to catch up with the update? Otherwise something is properly banjaxxededed.

so guys if I understood right, new code that should be used when I'm going on the bank to transfer money on my acc is WIREDEMM? but why then when I go to my account there's still written this one SWIFT / BIC Code: WIREDEM1XXX

which one should I use then? little confused here -.-

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 195 ✭✭MrAbc

The old WIREDEM1XXX definitely won't work.
The new WIREDEMM should work but up until now the AIB Internet interface would complain that this was an invalid BIC (same error with WIREDEMMXXX) and proceed no further :(

HOWEVER, I've just tried it again (hoping that the BIC directory changes would filter through) and [praise Allah, Intel and Mr Bojangles] both WIREDEMM and WIREDEMMXXX satisfy the webform and the correct bank details are called up(Wirecard Bank AG, 4 BRETONISCHER RING, etc) using wither one.
I submitted the form using WIREDEMM and the transfer has just now been marked as complete (at the AIB end) :)

A few days will tell all...

[PS Wirecard are too busy counting their money to inform anyone about the BIC change. My account details show the old (completely expired) BIC as happy and as shiny as ever.]

thanks for letting us know MrABC. I still can't believe Wirecard would change something so fundamental to their business and not let anyone know about it:eek:

I have BOI online banking. Does the BIC change mean I will have to go through the whole process of adding a new beneficiary etc?

I think you will need to do just that as I had also to do the same. Its a pain in the rear!

How do wirecard make their money? Is it just the processing fees and transfer fees from account to account or is there more to it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,016 ✭✭✭metalfest

can someone explain how this is better than 3v?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

It lasts 2 years and there's no limit to deposit :)

If you think 3V is good well then Wirecard is a good bit better but has its own drawbacks and as well as having good reasons to use like the issue of a plastic mastercard which is much better than a paper print out of a credit card number

Not sure on that point but I assume as they are a major german bank that the Wirecard CC is only a small part of their business.

Has anyone ordered the plastic Wirecard mastercard?...i ordered one myself today.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

I entered the new BIC code into AIB (old XXX one was auto rejected) and the payment went through ok.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,113 ✭✭✭subway

i ordered one, it works in the atm but i wouldnt be comfortable using it in a shop as an on the ball shop assistant might consider it a fake.
basically, it doesnt conform to the usual mastercard standards - (see here http://www.merchantaccountblog.com/all-card-verification.pdf)

besides that, it doesnt have a chip. that wouldnt normally be a problem, except that the card looks like i made it in my bedroom

    Thank you for your email.

The reason your order was deemed high risk is that your bank did not respond to our request to verify your address and we were unable to confirm this via a manual check.
