By coincidence (or is it?) there's currently a thread on this board about the documentary "A Sunday In Hell", which focuses largely on Roger de Vlaeminck himself and his attempt to win a Paris-Roubaix in the mid 70s.

As for the bike, sorry, I haven't a clue...

Its very worth it in my opinion, did you paint the rest of the frame yourself of did you get it powdercoated?
I had to paint my frame myself because lack of knowledge about powdercoaters etc.
But if I get a nice old lugged frame thats how I would do it.(powdercoated and lugs pained)

i painted it with a combination of automotive primers undercoats spraypaints and clear coats, and painted the lugs with paint called plasticoat using a paintbrush and a really steady hand. alot of preperation goes into re building scrap bikes praticurally of this vintage as parts are incompatable 26tpi threads mainly. therefore the satisfaction at the end is amaxing rode it from dublin down into wicklow today nice feeling

here my machine, fitted quit a few bits, shes proovin a superb choice for me and my needs
i use for going in and out to college 15 miles a day, and i train on her as well, super super bike, id highly recommend one, super job.

Yeah that's what I do too... but please don't tell me you use that lock to secure your bike! You can cut through one of those with a pliers..

Not enjoying the relaxed feel. Was thinking of just replacing the frame but ive no idea how to build the bike back up,whether the components will fit the new frame etc etc. So will probably just sell it and buy something with a more aggressive position

I only use that lock for quick trips to the shops. It's never locked up for long, I have a Kryptonite Mini lock also. I haven't used it yet as the bike is always in my office when I commute to work.

Jollylee - that looks pretty nice. How much would that full job cost you? I need something simplistic for getting into work and down the shops without fear of my bike being nicked.

I think the final cost came to about €200. The the bike was just €30 originally. See my project thread for step by step pics and breakdown of parts. To be honest I fixed for just a few euro. About €100 went into painting it and I paid €50 for the saddle haha:rolleyes:!
