Sorry to say but to me Leona's version was terrible :mad:

Louis Walsh has claimed that Cheryl Cole is "getting away with murder" on The X Factor.

The Irish judge criticised Cole for her reaction to Laura White's shock elimination from the ITV1 talent series last weekend.

Girls Aloud star Cole accused Walsh and Simon Cowell of voting tactically when they chose to save Ruth Lorenzo rather than White in the final showdown.

However, speaking to The People, Walsh insisted: "I did not do it to spite Cheryl. Cheryl has two girls already through. What did she want? Three girls in the bloody final!

"If Cheryl had her way, she thinks it's going to be handed to her on a plate because it's her first year in X Factor. She gets away with murder. But it's the public who control the show."

Walsh added that Cole should start blaming herself for White's exit rather than complaining about her fellow judges.

"I thought Cheryl's choice of song for Laura was a disaster," he explained. "It was Mariah Carey week and she gave Laura the Lionel Richie song 'Endless Love' and put her behind the piano. She sounded atrocious, it's as simple as that."

Just looked back over Leona singing Run and Diana singing Yellow, on youtube, as they're the songs being discussed.

Really didn't like Leona's version of Run. The first half was good, but second half was painful and I love Snow Patrol's version - one of my favourite songs.

Yellow is another of my favourite songs, and although it wasn't as good as Coldplay's version, I think Diana did a really good cover, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan of Diana - I'm a fan of Leona as well, but as someone with a great interest in all types of music and a radio DJ, I'd without 100% of a doubt buy an album that Diana released with any of the songs she sung on the X Factor - really like the covers she does and hope she gets a good Take That song next week.

Thought Diana already had herself a little boyfriend, Chris something..I really thought leona's version of Run was fantastic, I thought the original was good (not a huge SP fan these days) but she really took it and made it sound fab...was watching her first audition time there on youtube (I never got into xfactor last year), and wow she can sing..I reckon they knew they had a winner from the start..I wonder who they had their eye on this year...Diana?...Laura?..dare i say Rachel?

Just seeing her dancing to it like it was something by 2 Unlimited, not U2 really annoyed me and there was no way I was going to listen to her squawk her way through it. I feel really sorry for Daniel. He's a decent guy and you just knew he would smile his way through anything. He knows the really important things in life and was never going to be upset by pricks like Walsh.

What the hell was with her dancing through the song. I feel for Daniel a little bit he seemed prob the most decent Guy and the ppl who say he played the Sob story TBH sicken me. Noone is going to use their wifes death to win a bloody TV show.

Anyway my hope to win it is Eoghan cause I never like to see the favourites win. I also would like to add I think Diana made a balls of Yellow.

Leona Lewis butchered Snow Patrol's great track Run why has she been given permission to sing this track she should stick to the Mariah or Whitney big ballads :mad:

I have never been moved to tears by any singer in my life, but I was totally captivated by Leona singing Run. She totally nailed it and made it her own. I'd say Snow Patrol were well pleased. The mark of a great song is the capacity for the song to be sung well by another artist in a different genre.
On the strength of Leona's performance, my wife's christmas stocking will definitely be getting Leona's cd !!!!!

She murdered what is a brilliant song when sung by Snow Patrol.

Oh man how in earth should anyone allow Rachel to get away with that!
She butchered one of the greatest songs of all time. I even like the version of Mary J Blidge singing with U2 but that was just horrible:eek:

I thought Rachel copied Mary J Blige's take on it right down to the individual note - didn't see anything wrong with it. She sang it well I thought. The dancing around the place didn't work but that was apparently nervousness.

Leona is amazing vocally.
Wish i had her vocals....

I find Rachel kinda irratating... She's kinda squawky at the best of times... and tends to go flat or totally off key sometimes. Just cant be doing with her really.

And while i did enjoy Diana's "Call me" track, generally i cant be bothered with Diana... the hands.. the Kate Bush way of going on...Her voice is so un-natural... Its really a put on sound. Bugs me. I'd like to hear what she actually sounds like minus that sound..

Yeah Call Me was tolerable. I think we should start a petition to have her sing like a normal person for one show

Well the general consensus re Leona on many forums like UKMIX,DIGISPY,Popjustice,Buzzjack etc etc etc is that she was amazing.What a singer and vocallist she is and i know she has gained many more new fans after Saturday.The contestants left this year (or any future year) can only dream of the success and the critical acclaim she has received worldwide re Billboard Number 1 single,album etc and the chances are it seems certain she'll be gaining some Grammy Noms next month for its 09 Show.

Not a chance of dire Diana EVER getting a Grammy Nom.

P.S-Alexandra,in my opinion, is by far the best remaining this year cause after all this is a singing competition but unfortunately methinks Eggnog(Sorry Eoghan),Diana & JLS will be the final 3,time will tell.

1. I love Eoghan to bits, He certainly has improved a lot
2. Totally gutted that Laura was booted by Louis. But then again look at Alexandra. He booted her 3 years ago before the live shows and now look at where she is.
3. GET RACHEL OFF THE STAGE. OMG why is she still in at this stage. She killed the song on Saturday.
4. Daniel is gone now but he did give us a good show. (Kinda).
5. JLS are cute.
6. Diana is back in action which is brilliant. She has a fab voice.
7. Alexandra has brains. Just because she was turned away by the twit Louis she never gave up. Go Girl.
8. Ruth has an amazing voice

In the final i'd love to see Eoghan, Alexandra and Diana. But i cannot decide on an overall winner

Eh Louis didn't boot Laura. She was in the bottom 2 because not enough people voted for her. Then three, thats three judges chose to send her home. How Louis gets all the blame for this is beyond me.

I agree, ya have to give Louis some credit. Neither Danni, Cheryl or even Simon (at times) would have the balls to make some of the decisions that Louis has made. Sure they leave him til last on purpose 'cause he doesn't actually seem to give a sh*t about what other people think of him.

She paces the song, and sings it much better

It takes a powerful voice to bring out the through emotion of that song, which Leona has, and imo Gary doesnt

I still think SP are amazing, and the original is great, but its pretty stupid to say Leona's version is crap

Eh, what now? Did I miss the 4 albums she's released?
She's been singing cover versions, just like the rest of them, but in her case she's been doing a very bad job of it.

And Diana with her quirkiness :rolleyes: and Laura to a certain degree fits that bill, only difference between the two is that Diana is better looking, not as fantastic as some would have you believe though, but pretty nonetheless.

Although, I've got a feeling that if she got and "Indie" type song written for her and with the right producer she could do a decent enough job, but time will tell on that one.

Spot-on. And it's considered kinda off-beat and left-of-centre to like Diana because she's "different" and, as you said, fits the generic, marketable "indie" mould.

Leonas voice is incredible but when she sang that song I could not actually make out a word of it?

Anyone notice that never once in the whole show did we hear Daniel lives in Spain? Until Dermot let it slip at the end. Interesting Ruth is spanish and they kept harping on about it but never once menationed the fact that Daniel doe not actually live in the UK!! also saw in a magazine how Daniel has two other kids by two other women they kept that damn quiet too.

Good spot. I think Ruth will survive for another week at least. She is my favourite but I know how the voting works, it's going to be Ruth and Rachel in the bottom two. If she can just get past what I hope is the last "band/artist focused theme" she could have a good shout of getting to the final; I get the feeling that Dannii is holding back on using the songs that suit Ruth best so she can really rattle the audience in the latter stages. It's a risky game (especially this past Saturday) but it seems to be working.

My thoughts for the record:
Bottom 2 should have included Diana - I'm a fan, but her performance was horrible and that song was the worst choice for any contestant all series.

Daniel sang better than Rachel in the play-off, but there was no way he was going to survive...

God I hope rachel doesnt survive another week. Surely the fact the cannot seem to sing anything other than amy winehouse or mary j blige will go against her? She looked mental in the sing off with all the swaying back and forth!:eek:

Im not mad about take that week it could be interesting for some of them!
