I still think it was a bit rich showing Diana screaming Tuesday night after saying "Oh poor Diana, she had a sore throat for the whole week" So would I if I'd screamed like she did.

On a different note - why were the contestants in their white Mariah gear at the end of Xtra Factor, then showed in their own performance gear at the start of the Results Show (The "One act will be leaving" segment) only to then march onstage with Mariah in their white gear again. Why bother pre-recording that bit for the start of the show? Just how much of these shows are actually live?

Thought Lauras choice to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow was daft - Ruth can always pull it off with her powerful choices plus the fact that Simon looooooooooooooves her XX

I watched this as i missed it last night, but seriously it's the funniest thing with Diana and the hand, it's literally like someone holds up a sign when it's her part and says 'do the hand thing'. The girlband with the two sisters are awful with their 'emotion' movements, at one stage they nearly keel over...how did i miss this?!!

Ruth's rack is certainly helping her out. I think Laura has way more raw talent and the wrong decision has been made. As other people have said I think Louis & Simon saw her as a huge threat and voted accordingly. At least it wiped the smug smile off Cheryl's face for one week. The fact that all the over 25's are still there is worrying. Rachel was shocking the last night and should have been in the bottom two.

I dunno why we're not allowed to vote anymore, And BTW if Diana had have forfeited last night or been disqualified for not performing there would have been no reason to have the show as we know it... we'd have all been fliking to watch other things.

And I think Rachael & her strops have to be addressed, who does she think she is? she's making a total show of herself. You could tell that the judges were afraid to give her their normal going over judgement coz she is quite clearly on the verge of a breakdown. She is just not cut out for this & needs to get her act together really...

I just dunno... Diana, if this throat infection is as a result of improper use won't last either, her voice won't let her.

    God, I need a life:cool:

Oh and as for Ruth's rack... yes lovely, she's so sexy but anyone else think that she's being slightly "harrassed" with all the comments about her body & her sexiness...

I love her, she's very charismatic on stage & so beautiful

Very true, she looked she she was gonna crumble into a mess after she sang...her tuning was pretty bad at times, and no one said anything to her i think out of fear of tipping her over the edge..if it was anyone else they would have ripped them to shreds, like poor laura

I would like to start by saying wow, shock, can not believe laura is gone  .. I know someone has to go every week and as much as i would like to see Daniel go i dont think hollys q's in the xtra factor are relevant or fair. 'Whats going on with the votes this year?' I know daniel shouldnt be there but go easy with the digs holly ;)
Love xfactor soo much.. Laura didnt deserve to go :(
Simon voted for ruths rack and the decision shouldnt be louis all the time, why didnt he just let it go to deadlock??

I really do not understand the Laura hype. She has been rubbish every week of the competition so far, none more so than Saturday. She just wailed the entire song out of tune and out of pitch. Her Somewhere Over The rainbow was good in fairness, but too little too late IMO.

The only acts who are worth winning, in my opinion, are JLS and Alexandra. I cannot stand Diana. Spoiled little princess is all she is (at leats that what she looks like  ).

I really think the standard this year is very poor though.

The X Factor finalists have become embroiled in heated feuds following a voting leak, a report claims.

According to the Daily Star, the eight remaining contestants have learned that Diana Vickers, 17, Eoghan Quigg, 16, and boyband JLS were the frontrunners in the first four public votes.

Meanwhile, Rachel Hylton, 26, Laura White, 21, and Alexandra Burke, 20, are said to be "mortified" after hearing that they are trailing behind in the voting with Ruth Lorenzo, 25, and Daniel Evans, 38.

"This has caused mayhem - the girls, especially, are at each other's throats," an insider told the newspaper. "The house has been a nasty place to be this week."

However, an X Factor spokesman denied the claims, adding: "Not even Simon Cowell gets to see who is getting the most votes."

So Diana Vickers, Eoghan Quigg and JLS are the favourites to win

How did Diana stay when she didnt perform?

Rachel should gone this week she was terrible

Ruth gave a better sing off performance that Laura but both should not have been in the bottom two

I'm watching This Morning right now and Holly Willnoughby is on it. Schofield pointed out how Holly was saying on the Xtra Factor that Laura shouldn't have gone and although Daniel wasn't mentioned, it was embarrassing for the guy there in front of his friends and family as it was obvious that he was the one that people thought should have gone.

But Holly said that she thought Daniel sang quite well and he didn't deserve to go and although she didn't say the name, she said she felt that someone sang quite flat and was surprised the judges didn't pick up on it and that she should have went. It has to be Rachel, plus she criticised her for not taking the opportunity by the horns and for not appreciating it.

Eoghan, Diana and JLS favourites to win? Hardly a shock given the complete and utter uneven performances from everyone else.

Although I don't particular like Diana - herself, Eoghan and JLS have been miles ahead of the others and have given decent performances week after week.

Ah now come on. That's only right considering she had a throat infection.. and besides, where's the competition if Diana was kicked off immediately on Saturday night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,327 ✭✭✭Nasty_Girl

I find the tactical voting hilarious as most people do, Louis slagged off Ruth's performance big time then saves her, like the way he saved Daniel even tough all he does is b*tch about him!

But what's even funnier is Cheryl ... stropping about how people vote for people they feel sorry for and not who's talented etc yet she's the one buttering up the likes of Daniel and Rachel ... (assuming that's who she thinks should go)
I wonder if we'll be seeing a more critical side to her next week...

I was shocked to see Ruth and Laura in the bottom two, but I think their styles lately have been too similar and the demographic (fanbase or whatever) who would vote for them was thus spilt, Ruth will probably pick up a lot of Laura's votes next week. Or perhaps people who'd normally vote for Diana chose to vote for other contestants as Laura or Ruth would be viewed as her competition.. or maybe it's all a scam by Simon as Laura would be too similar to market to Leona Lewis...

Also, did anyone else find the arrangements of the songs a little bit crappy?
Especially Eoghan's and JLS they just hacked out huge lumps of them and they didn't really flow well as a result, I know that they don't have time to sing the whole song but it seemed a bit lazy to me.

I see your point. However had it been Rachel, Ruth or Daniel do you think they would have got the bye into the next Round as well?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Its increasingly more annoying that the VTs are double the length of the actual song. For instance, I though Alexandra, while brilliant, was only getting going and it was over. 90 seonds is just too short.

But the thing about that is that if Diana had of been ok to sing there is no way in hell she would have been voted off. The same cannot be said for the other 3.

Rachel definitely should of went. And after her performance the other night they should've just cancelled the results show and just given her the boot there and then. She was dreadful, and all the judges were afraid to say so because she looked like she was about to break down at any moment.

Surprised Laura went but in fairness she's not really pop star material.

I agree the VTs are getting silly, first they talk about their performance last week, then they talk about two or three things they did during the week, then they go on about the performance they're gonna do tonight, and then they sing a tiny piece of a song. And there's like 14 hundred ad breaks.
i know it must be hard to pick out and learn off a song in a just a week but it's still annoying how badly they are arranged.

I could have said the same thing about Laura. All the same it happened and it showed anything was possible. She's been either the bookies favourite or second favourite behind Diana throughout the whole thing. Simon Cowell went to great pains to stress that he was looking for the next "Amy Whinehouse", I'm sure he had specific plans for Laura and actually did see her as a pop star.

Agreed about Rachel, she should have went but I guess the human side she showed on Saturday night saved her. We all know that this is primarily a contest to see who can "connect with the audience" more so than a talent contest.

Sorry I missed that. I like Holly. I'd hate to be in the presenters or judges shoes though. I would find it very hard not to speak my mind and if i was a mentor and one of my good acts got booted and someone crap like Rachel stayed i would be so pissed i would find it hard not to say it out straight :D

Someone has to speak the truth though even if in a round about way. She just said what i was thinking and probably a lot of other people too

I love singing but not very good at it! After watching it the other night my OH said out of the blue, you should go on that you'd win. Flattered I said i'm not that good am I?

No he said but you'd get the pity votes isnt that how they are judging it these days :D

Ah, the beauty of being a student is that I'll take mornings off if I feel like it!:D You are right, take O' Leary for example. He's always bitching in magazines about the sob stories and the like. Put a microphone in front of him and he'll pander to the contestants. Fair play to Holly for her honesty.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rachel walks from the competition.
She seems to be getting more and more depressed as the weeks go on.
I just don't think she can cope.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 649 ✭✭✭Peewee_lane

I dont know, she has a few kids, no career and a lot of pressure on her shoulders.

In the beginning she was a loud mouth, someone told her off, Simon - said she would ruin all her chances. She shut up after that, told Dannii she would listen and do whatever she said, but she realises now where she is in the pecking order and doesnt feel good with the fact Dannii aint pickin the songs or getting her the votes.

The sympathy vote worked for her though - it is television after all!

I don't think she can cope either,
but maybe getting through this week without being in the bottom two will inspire her
