    Modelsport.co.uk

    Baja's aren't cheap.

If you get done for customs & excise & VAT, it'll probably work out the same whether you order from the US or from the UK.

(Should've done so when the exchange rate(s) were better though!)

    Didn't someone mention a resession lately?:pac:

    lol recession.

I know they're not cheap. Is there any place to pick one up second hand or am I better off buying new?

    Thanks.

Boyztoyz in Santry has the Savage X 4.6 RTR for €600, whereas it can be had for €400 (delivered, and having paid VAT and c&e) online.

    to order from modelsport uk
    HPI Baja 5B RTR Buggy+p&p €768.38
and if there is a problem with the buggy when you receive it €30-40 to send it back and that every time there is some sort of fault
and modelsport aint the fastest people to deal with i orderd 2 x FG Modellsport Diff Output for a m8 on the 29/9/08 and only received them today thats 2 weeks
i have bought stuff from the states and the have arrived faster and cheaper!!
i havent got my baja yet but i have already spent a few quid on bits
of ebay i bought a set of shock socks & windshild set €25
comeing from tower hobbies in the us i have
    Wing Set Black $10.99
Aluminum Tuned Pipe Set Polished $95.00
Integy Alloy Gas Tank Cap Silver $18.40
set of Mounted Sand Buster Paddle Tire M Compound $79.00
    $203.39
    $30 p+p
    -$20 voucher
    $213.39
works out to be €157.94 and only takes 10 days for stuff to arrive
to buy the same stuff from the uk would cost at least €220
thats €182 extra on a baja i aint got yet lol and i am only getting started i have my eye on loads more extras and i think hard about buying new tyres for my car

    nice.

will do plug, will give them a ring, do boyztoys do second hand ones too?

cheers cafedecreme, let me know what he's looking for and where did you buy your baja btw?

Postage is a hit or miss situation. Yes, I've had stuff from the US delivered within 4 days, but I've also had to wait 4 weeks in some cases. I've had a big model delivered from Modelsport after only 3 days, yet I had to wait 2 weeks for some smaller stuff from elsewhere in the UK. You never can tell, especially when customs are involved, which brings me to my next point: If you buy bulky stuff, you are most likely to be hit with VAT and duty, which have a significant influence on the total price.
